  1. Once you close a period, pulled all the accounts and happy with the financial position, you close the period to stop posting to that period. But when you receive a old supplier invoice, which has been accrued in, Xero does not allow you to post the invoice without re-opening the period date. This means, you either reverse your accrual journal to post the older invoice, changing the financial position or manully altering the invoice date, to post it into current period.   2. In the Bills section under- New Bill and Upload Bill you cannot currently drag and drop the file from an email into the box. You either have to email or download the file would be time saving if you could just drag and drop straight from email into the new bill box.

  3. It would be great to have a Direct Debit flag on the Bills area. Especially on the ones waiting payment.
    That would allow us to know if a bill that is waiting payment is Direct Debit and we don't need to act, just wait to reconcile.
    I created a (terrible) mockup and attached it.

  4. When copying an invoice, we need to be able to copy and paste in the item code without it deleting all of the description, qty and cost.
    You can do this in classic invoicing, but when you do it in the updated invoicing it removes all the data on the line.

  5. please remove ACTION column under bills tab - don't push your products on your customers. It is a real turn off. The check mark under the column is greyed out. Let your customers remove please. Right now it isn't possible.

  6. It would be massively helpful to be able to preview the PDF invoice instead of having to click on and download it each time. If you could preview it alongside where you are inputting data on a Purchase invoice that you have sent to Xero by email - then you can check details side by side rather than having to print out the paper versions. Would be much more efficient

  7. Nowadays everyone include a credit card surcharge when paying a bill. However when the bill is recorded originally, it is without the surcharge. When applying payment to the bill, if we are in the bill screen and we apply an amount higher than the original invoice it records as an overpayment and creates a credit note. There should be an option like in the bank rec screen where it allows us to type in the surcharge so that the surcharge takes the same character as the original invoice.   8. Can the tracking category be "text wrapped" so that the full description can be seen? I often have to click edit to see the full description of the tracking category which takes takes time.
    - see image attached... The account description has 3 lines, please could the tracking category also have space to see full description.

  10. Ability to see Header rows and side columns on all screens when scrolling

    As per Microsoft Office where the top and side ribbons remains static.
    e.g. When you're in the Dashboard and scroll down it would be good if the top ribbon is static. It makes it easier to select another item (business; accounting; contact etc) without having to scroll up.

    The same with Bill Payments; Invoicing; reports etc where the top ribbon and column headers - see attached - would remain static as you scroll down the list.

    The same as when you might have a lot of columns…

  11. I regularly forget to click "assign" before "OK" when assigning a customer to a billable expense. In the attached screenshot, I've identified an expense, found the customer, and the line item is ticked. It's infuriating to have to remember to click "Assign" before "OK", when the rest of the interface is telling me that everything is all set and saved. While I try to remember to press the wretched "Assign" button first, could you please change the default so that clicking "OK" has the effect of clicking "Assign" automatically? There shouldn't be a separate "Assign" button.

  12. If an item has been billed manually or your stuck with some items in billable expenses you have to open every bill and remove the client from the items that are have not been billed.
    Could you add a tick box selection in the Billable Expenses - Outstanding so that you can then select a remove billable expenses from multiple bills in one go.

  15. When you go to add a bill it does not give option to upload.

  16. Example we explain here is a 4 line Purchase Order in CSV format which, using the Bills To Pay Template, we are importing in my test Xero platform.
    Each line in the PO use a different Account Code from our Chart of Accounts.

    In brief, if we leave any of the Account Code fields empty the system does not seem to want to import the Supplier Contacts Purchasing Default Account settings.
    I have tried all versions of this import and the only one I can get to work is one where all the fields are completed.

  17. Currently when creating batch payment files, multiple bills to the same payee are combined into a single line with only one set of bank payment details (although they appear separate on the batch payment screen in Xero).

    Sometimes different bank reference details are needed for each payment, and sending the details in a remittance advice is inappropriate - it would be helpful if the lines could remain separate rather than combined so that unique bank reference details could be added against each line for the same payee

    Hi everyone, appreciate the feedback of the layout of detail in the Billable expenses modal of new invoicing. I've made sure to share your feedback here with the team.

    To confirm, right now the date column is still included in this view however if you have a few billable expenses to assign you'll need to scroll down and then will see a horizontal scroll bar so you can scroll across to the date. Understand this isn't the most obvious atm, and I'll keep you updated here of any planned change.

  19. If a client has overpaid an invoice, or paid an invoice that has been voided/credited, when Ihave reconciled the incoming payment as an Overpayment, I would then like to be able to create a Bill from this payment so that the refund it sitting in Bills Awaiting Payment.
