Approved Variations
Please add a separate “Approved Variations” summary box to Xero Projects, alongside the existing Project Estimate, Invoiced, Time & Expenses, To Be Invoiced and Deadline boxes.
We need to retain the original project estimate and separately record the total value of customer-approved variations. Ideally, the project summary would display:
• Original project estimate
• Total approved variations
• Revised project total (original estimate plus approved variations)
For example, an original estimate of £50,000 with £7,500 of approved variations would show a revised project total of £57,500. All figures should use the same VAT basis.
Only approved variations should contribute to the variations total.
This would allow us to see the agreed project value at a glance, keep the original estimate visible, and reduce the need to maintain a separate spreadsheet.
