Heya team, we're now actively testing how reports could be grouped and accessed, and we'd love your input in this, so we can design a better report grouping structure that supports role-based access in reporting.
Get involved! Complete a quick 15-min online activity to test how reports are grouped and accessed:
- Part 1: answer questions about the current report grouping
- Part 2: explores a new grouping and role-based report access
👉 If you're interested, please go through the link here.
Thanks again for your support and contributions to developing a solution that works best for majority of our customers!
(Just to note - If you’ve already gone through this activity, there's no need to do it again — our researchers may have contacted you earlier 😊)

Hey everyone, thanks for all the votes and feedback on this idea! Our product teams have definitely taken note and understand the effort involved in automatic report generation and sending.
While it's something we see as valuable in the long run, it's not currently on our development roadmap with a specific timeframe. We're still keen to hear from those of you who would find this feature helpful, so please keep the conversation and votes coming. We'll be sure to update you if our plans change.

This is something which would go a long way to solving the problem of segregated access not being properly possible - i.e. the need for project managers to see data down to the gross profit level but no further is a real problem which we have not yet found a satisifactory solution to. I am looking at Syft but it cannot show sales or cost figure breakdowns and updates once a day rather than being live (you can update manually at any point but that does not work with emails being sent out automatically).

Hi community, some time passed since our last update in the thread here we do want to return and share - while our product teams explored possibilities for how we might represent Purchase Orders in Projects research has confirmed that there is underlying work needed to the platform Purchase Orders are built on before we can achieve any good outcomes of your needs here.
We have enthusiasm and a close eye remaining on the support for this, but want to be honest that this is not something that we’ll be able to focus our attentions on in the near future.
Once we have completed work first needed in the Purchase Orders space we can reassess how to integrate purchase Orders into Projects and will update you all of steps forward, here.

Hi community, we totally get why you'd like to easily track partially received goods or services against a single purchase order, and to see the remaining balance within Xero.
With the new Purchase orders experience that’ll be coming soon, our team has paid close attention to the flows and different needs in managing supplier goods that have been expressed through product ideas.
Our team is looking to solve needs for tracking partial amounts received, so we’ll keep you updated of progress surrounding this here. 🙂

It looks like I've missed the survey deadline, but it is extremely inconvenient that we cannot give access to a client's project managers to data which they need to manage their projects (i.e. down to the gross profit line) without access to sensitive company financial information. We're not even looking for access to particular projects per person, just gross profit data by project with the ability to drill down into costs and income items. A lot of time has been spent looking at various add on options, but none has proved ideal - live access to the Xero data is what we need.
