Hi everyone, we've been tracking this idea for some years now and truly value all the feedback we've heard on the desire and time saving reducing the manual steps in reconciliation
would achieve. We completely get wanting to skip that extra ‘OK’ click when you trust the suggested matches.
We’re excited to share that this idea is now in development. At Xerocon this year we shared automated bank reconciliation - Using JAX to automatically match and categorise your bank transactions with your Xero transactions.😊
It's in beta already and being tested by a small group of users atm, and as soon as we have more to share on this rolling out wider I'll give you another update here. Thanks again for helping us shape the future of Xero!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on auto-reconciliation for invoices and bills. We know that reconciling large volumes of transactions can be time-consuming, even when most just require a quick check, so suggestions like yours are really valuable.
We’re excited to let you know that this idea is now In Development. Auto-reconciliation is currently in beta with planned rollouts, and the team is working on expanding its capabilities to make reconciling transactions faster and easier, while still giving you oversight and control.
We’re looking forward to rolling this out more broadly and making auto-reconciliation an even bigger time-saver for many organisations. You can follow our progress and learn more from our blog and support article.

Thanks everyone, for continuing to share your experiences and examples here. We’ve been following the recent comments and really appreciate the added detail around the challenges this creates in real payment runs, particularly where credits need to be reflected alongside bills so supplier statements and remittances stay aligned.
This March, we released the ability to find and match credit notes when reconciling, which was another highly requested idea on Xero Product Ideas.
We recognise this is an end-of-process solution and doesn’t address the core need raised in this idea. As a quick update from my last post, we’ve done some early exploration into the technical requirements needed to solve the pain points mentioned. This is a complex area to get right, as it touches multiple parts of the bill payments and credit note experience.
At this stage, our focus remains on continuing to develop our bank-agnostic payments solutions across regions,…

Hi everyone, I want to assure you your voice is heard here and feedback is being shared back with our product teams.
We understand the desire to get this idea moving along and as mentioned in our last update we know this is an area that more controls and permissions would be most beneficial to our customers.
We’d like to share progress that we’re making for banking permissions - Work to provide more controls of sensitive banking information has started and will initially include the ability to restrict users from seeing sensitive banking information such as; account balances, bank transactions, and financial summaries.
We know this doesn’t relieve all pain points of this idea - It’ll be the first phase, a stepping stone of sorts in the development of per-bank controls.
As development continues we’ll share further updates as soon as they’re available with you all here.
Thank you for…

Agree - this is basic and critical stuff. Some employees need to do stuff in Xero such as payments and viewing supplier accounts but there are certain bank accounts that they should not be allowed to see. e.g. a bank account that shows other employee's payroll payments.

Absolutely vital. Unbelievable that Xero does not allow autoreconciliation of statements against invoices where the reference is an identical match. Such a basic and obvious requirement. We have not yet looked around to see if any other accounting package will do this but if we find a competitor that will do it, we will move to them.
