Hi team, thank you for your feedback here and letting us know your needs in providing some users with access to view documents in Xero without the ability to change things in your organisation.
We're in the process of developing a more flexible permissions model that considers Xero Documents as part of role access. As part of our next roll-out we'll be separating document access from wider accounting permissions, to support use cases like has been raised here.
We'll keep you updated as this capability lands.

Hi community, as mentioned in my last post we want to keep you looped in on changes around autosave.
Our product team has continued to focus attention on how we can make invoicing faster and more responsive to improve our customers' experience.
We've now optimised autosave to require less processing power, leading to faster invoice loading and saving.
While we don't have any plans to remove autosave, there is the possibility that we would make updates to improve experiences related to autosave in the future - I've provided links below to ideas that have been raised and remain open for consideration;
- Invoicing - Undo/revert to previous version of an invoice
- Exclude Auto Save from History and Notes
- Invoices - Add invoice number when invoice is Approved

Hi everyone, we’ve taken time to review the suggestion to include custom fields for both invoices and contacts, and recognise the value it'd bring in helping users capture more detailed information and avoid manual processes.
However, with other focuses drawing the teams attention such as multiple addresses this idea is not on our current development roadmap.
As we continue to plan future roadmaps, being highly supported this idea will continue to be considered, however we want to be open about it's current position with you all here. We appreciate you sharing your feedback and for your ongoing participation in the Xero community. Any changes to this status will be shared with everyone on this idea.

Hi everyone, thanks for your contributions to this idea. We appreciate your feedback about the challenges in ensuring all billable costs are recovered, and your desire for an improved experience.
As noted by others in the idea, there are some features that will give some visibility of billable expenses at present.
- You can 'View bills not assigned to projects', and
- there is the Outstanding billable expense report as some have shared which shows outstanding items you've assigned as billable to customers
Understanding the value more visibility of unassigned bills would have for customers, this is something we’ll continue to review in future planning but isn’t in the current roadmap. We'll be sure to update you all if this gets picked up.

This really is essential in managing re-chargeable expenses - finding expenses that have not been marked as billable (which should be).
