Hi Jonathan, thanks for this fantastic 'quality of life' suggestion. We really appreciate you taking the time to detail not just the idea, but also how it could work in practice.
We've reviewed your proposal to enhance the "Find a Report" search box so it returns results from all tabs – like 'Custom' and 'Drafts' – not just the one you're currently viewing. We can see how this would make finding the right report much faster.
Your idea is now open for other members of the community to support and add their thoughts to. Along with votes, others can now comment on how a global search for reports, perhaps with the filters you suggested, would improve their own day-to-day workflow.

Hi everyone, we wanted to loop back on the outcome of the survey we did. Our product team have used this feedback, and looked into building this feature but at this stage want to confirm that this work is not currently on our roadmap.
As a global business with many requests for our different regions and needs, we are not able to build everything at once.
We appreciate this is not the news you’d like around this but do want to be upfront with you all here to help you make the best decisions as needed for your businesses. If things change, we’ll communicate this with you through the idea here.

Hey everyone, thanks for all your valuable feedback and support on this idea here.
It's nice to see tips being shared throughout this thread to help others managing multiple assets. The suggestion to group similar items (like office chairs or laptops) into a single asset with a quantity can be an efficient way to handle things. When you need to dispose of some, you can then perform a partial disposal by updating the quantity, which helps save a few steps.
Wanting to share an update for you all, although I appreciate it will not be the news hoped for - Developing the capability to bulk dispose assets isn't on our current roadmap. We will keep an active eye on the support this continue to build here and be sure to let you know if anything changes here.

Hi team, while we released the ability to run the Trial balance for a date range to our US customers last year, we appreciate there's quite a bit of appetite for this in other regions and have re-opened the idea so we can engage with you all and consider whether this feature can be expanded.
We'd love to get more insights of the needs in running this report for a date range for customers based in regions outside US.
If you'd be willing to share they will be running research across the next 2 weeks - please book a video call at a time that works for you through the link here. 💬
Thanks for your engagement and I'll keep you updated of outcomes in this idea.

There is a decent enough work-around if you're only after movements for a period (and not comparatives/YTD, in which case I'd point you in the direction of the new standard TB report Template)
1) Reports > Account Transactions (New version).
2) Under "Accounts" select "All"
3) Under "Grouping/Summarising", select "Summarise by....Account Code & Name)
4) Under "More", de-select "Show opening and closing balances/Asset, liability & equity"
5) Under "Columns" de-select all apart from "Debit" and "Credit"
6) Click "Update" for Great Success!!P.S. this also works when you want a period TB for any non-standard date ranges. (eg. if a merger/acquisition occurred part-way through the year and you want to examine pre/post figures).

That's disappointing to hear. In which case, we might have to abandon using Xero's FAR module for some clients and go back to spreadsheets if such a rudimentary accounting feature is not available.
