Thanks for sharing your thoughts on bulk allocation of credit notes, everyone. We understand that manually applying credit notes one by one can be time-consuming, and we appreciate wanting a a faster, more streamlined solution.

Currently, while we know it won't be the flow that suits all, it's possible to apply credit notes to multiple invoices for a single contact by opening the credit note and selecting the invoices to apply it to.

Atm, we're in the process of releasing a new experience for Sales Credit Notes. This work will enable us to develop changes like you're asking here longer term. However, the initial release is focused on developing existing features into the new Credit Notes experience. Once this is fully rolled out the team will have more capacity to consider enhancements like bulk allocations, however we want to be upfront that this isn't planned for the short term.

Allow the editing of Bills even after payments have been applied without having to delete all the payments.

e.g. When reconciling Bank Statements against a Bill using the Split feature to match the bank transaction with the line within a Bill, I need an option to allow me to modify a cost within a Bill without removing ALL payments?

The Bill still can't be reconciled until the amounts are correct, so what is the issue?

As a single director, I need to create internal monthly bills that contains car mileage, home usage and expensed costs. At the moment I need to create a bill per transaction and two entries per car mileage in order to reclaim the VAT (Crazy!).

Much better to add a simple Bill structure that enables each item to have a date which can then accommodate monthly detailed internal Bills.

It just needs to an optional field (e.g. date) in each item line within the Bill.

The workaround for imported old data is to use the Inventory Code but you can change it once it has been imported because, changing the inventory code, changes the Description, price etc. (Crazy!)

Hi David, could you provide a bit more detail of where you're finding this behaviour? It might even be best to raise this with our specialists at Xero Support who can get a closer look in.

Editing an inventory items Item Code can be done independently so you shouldn't have to update the description or price.

Yes...but I also need some of the crazy constraints removing, so that I can import data e.g. Bills, Approve them, pay them (on paper), check the figures are correct and if not - reverse payment, reverse approval and then delete them but IN BULK!

Allow for the Live Organisation bank feeds to also feed the "dummy organisation"

I also need to import & export ALL data to/from the relevant fields in Xero e.g. Bills, Invoices, Expenses, Mileage, Tracking Categories, Bank Statements, Chart of Accounts etc.

Also I want to be able to lock accounting periods, import the data and then see if there are any discrepancies.

To be able to clone your current organisation into a temporary organisation within Xero, so that you can import data from an old legacy system (spreadsheets, databases etc.) and then validate the results in Xero before importing/copying that data into your current organisation.

Simple to implement, you could suspend data entry and live bank feeds to the current organisation, copy it to the temporary organisation, import the new data, validate the temporary organisation is correct, then just rename the temporary organisation to your current one and enable the live data entry and feeds.

Similar to the Demo Company in Xero but just a clone of your live organisation, which you can then rename. In addition, Xero could check for any errors/differences between the two organisations.

This is critical when you're moving from an old legacy system (spreadsheets, databases etc.) to Xero to ensure accurate account submissions.

Hi team, to export a list of all Tracking categories in your org, you may find the Tracking Summary report of use to you here. Alternatively, you could run the Account Transactions report and Summarise by the Tracking category.

The one caveat here for both reports is that they'll only show a list of the tracking options that have been used within the date range the report is run.

Thanks for your open feedback and sharing how we can improve these forums for you! It's crucial to us understanding how we can get better at communicating about product developments.

We wanted to give you an update on how we’re managing Xero Product Ideas, and our updates - In July last year we made a few changes that included new public statuses for ideas, and providing our customers more guidance on how to create a good idea.

We also now have our site "The Long and Short of It" which aims to keep users in the know of recent and upcoming changes, with filters to zone into updates that are most useful to you.

We're in a continuous process of interacting with product teams and updating ideas to provide more transparency of where we do and don't have development planned.

Our aim is to give a clearer…

Suggested years ago and still not implemented!

Importing & Exporting are basic features and should be standard. It would really help migration from other systems which would surely encourage more people to use Xero. I also want to import Expenses from an old system but can't do that either :((

I hope Sales, Marketing and the CFO read these suggestions!
