Thanks for your feedback, Elma. Our product team is paying close attention to this and exploring ways to improve the experience for users working on smaller screens or using split-screen layouts.
The Account and Description columns are responsive, so widening your view will expand these columns and provide more visibility. We understand, though, that this may depend on your individual setup and processes.
I’ve updated the title of your idea to reflect your request for a compact view, which will help us track interest in this improvement.
Regarding the date formatting, dates in manual journals are localised. We recommend checking your browser’s default language and region settings and, if needed, updating them to match your location. For example, selecting English (New Zealand), English (Australia), or English (United Kingdom) will allow you to enter dates in the DDMMYYYY format.

Hi community, some time on from my last update we'd love to share further developments in this space with you here.
Since the rollout of our new Files inbox experience, our product teams are continue to enhance and grow out it's functionality across Xero.
For UK organisations we recently launched Smart document capture with intentions of rolling this out to all other regions soon. With Smart document capture Xero will automatically create documents for you to review from within Xero Files. So, while a contact will be required Xero will do a lot of the manual work for you and ensure the file remains attached to the created invoice 🙂
On the flip side we also have a team that is currently exploring how we might solve for wider needs around invoice details that are captured outside Xero and how to gets these in and automate the workflow for you.…

A new and frustrating thing discovered about manual journals today. We create daily journals in advance, save as draft and enter the details as each day happens. This works efficiently for what we do. Draft journals now need to have amounts in the lines before they can be saved as draft. Just down to this change the job now takes twice as long.
Only positive change is being able to work on a journal for a longer period of time without it crashing and not saving anything.
