We appreciate the interest and attention around this idea, team. As you might've heard, at Xerocon we announced our new Xero Workpapers.
Taking on board feedback from our community to develop this, new Workpapers provides the ability to edit internal queries in Workpapers. We're excited for you to try this new experience and have just begun rollout to Australian partners, with other regions soon to come in 2026. Thanks for sharing how this feature could benefit your practice. We'll return to share once rolled out to 100%.

Thanks to everyone who's shared feedback here. Over time, the conversation has broadened from the original request: the ability to create custom-designed workpapers, similar to Classic Workpapers, with tailored calculation rows, sections and mapped account codes.
This is something we're actively exploring and will share another update soon. We’ll use this idea to track that broader customisation capability.
Requests for specific worksheets are best tracked separately:
- Inter-entity loan workpapers
- Division 7A loans
- Motor vehicle private use and FBT
- Franking credits - add payment dates
- Investment income
- Profit appropriation/distribution
Tracking these separately helps us understand interest, needs and use cases. Please make sure to add your vote to these if of interest, or start a new idea for a new one.

Thanks for the clarification! It’s great to see the direction Workpapers is heading. The ability to use tailored templates and import reports directly sounds especially useful for making compliance workflows more efficient. Looking forward to seeing what the team comes up with next!

Adding dedicated workpapers for Inter-Entity Loans, Wages, Div 7A, TPAR, Super Payable, BAS, and GST would definitely make the template suite far more complete and practical for everyday compliance and review work. These are common areas accountants regularly deal with, so having standardized workpapers could improve consistency, save time, and reduce review issues. Thanks for feeding back on the Client search, Carey. The way that search works for the new client list experience is a little different to the older experience, and partial matching is not a feature with this new search.
While it's not in our roadmap atm, our team are keen to stay close the support this idea receives and will consider in future planning. I'll share if there are any updates here.

The previous search behavior was definitely more user-friendly. Requiring an exact full-name match makes searching much slower and less practical, especially with common names. Partial and flexible matching like “John Jones” finding “John James Jones” should really be restored to improve efficiency and avoid scrolling through huge client lists. https://teraboxdownloaders.com/
This would be a really useful automation for XPM. Automatically sending personalized birthday messages to clients would save time, reduce the chance of missing important dates, and add a nice personal touch to client relationships. Hopefully this can be considered for a future update!
