XPH | Client list - Match partial or similar name in search
When you search for a client with client name, old xpm it used to search for anyone with similar name, now it has to be exact eg John James Jones, if you searched John Jones, it would come up, now it won't and you have to type John James Jones for it to appear. If you type John it will come up but what happens when you have 50 Johns to scroll through??? Please fix.
Thanks for feeding back on the Client search, Carey. The way that search works for the new client list experience is a little different to the older experience, and partial matching is not a feature with this new search.
While it's not in our roadmap atm, our team are keen to stay close the support this idea receives and will consider in future planning. I'll share if there are any updates here.

Totally agree with the other comments - we are really struggling since the change in December with all the lost functionality. Really struggling to see the multiple small functionalities delivered, as a positive tradeoff for the whole system taking a major step backward. Our whole admin team of 8 (70+accountants in our firm) are tearing their hair out just trying to perform basic functions. Please bring back the lost functionality you have taken away!

YES!!!! I don't want to have to remember all my clients middle names...
And add this to the time widget as well!

Please bring back the partial name search when searching for clients. We have many clients with the same name, except for the middle name, we dont always know the middle name so we could click on the wrong client instead.
Again, leaving room for errors. -

Another stupid decision, do you realise how useful partial match is? If we don't know the middle name or one letter is wrong then they don't show up.
Seriously. Someone at Xero needs to take responsibility for this absolutely horrendous change to the system,

this was definitely a benefit of XPM that's now gone! :( as the Admin Manager for our firm, I'm constantly telling my team to search partial first/last names as spelling may not be conventional (ie, I could be searched by 'Rac Mc' because Rachel or Rachael could be a possibility. the partial search option should be reinstated.

This is ridiculous to take away something that worked well and then say that it will be considered for future planning.
