Hi team, apologies we jumped the gun a touch on the idea here.
Like previously mentioned, right now you can attach documents and links, set flexible workpaper periods, and use basic calculation sheets in the new experience.
Currently our team are exploring how we might further enhance Workpapers with variations for tailored templates, and support direct importing of reports to improve the way data moves across your compliance steps. We'll share as we have more updates for you around this.

Hi Chris, apologies as returning to your idea here and checking in with our product team I can confirm it is not currently possible to create Workpaper packs for individuals unless they have a Xero subscription.
This is something our team intend to look into longer term, and I'll be keep you updated of any progress surrounding this here. Thanks

Workpapers - generate and attach the appropriate report automatically
In the BGL SMSF product the standard reports are automatically generated when workpapers are created/refreshed, can we have this in Xero too please.Vicki Carlisle

Hey Everyone! Thanks for the feedback on the New Workpapers experience. Xero Ask is available on the Classic Workpapers but as yet not available in the new Workpapers experience. We've reviewed your idea and moved it to Gaining Support and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Hi everyone, we understand interest and how bulk action in the new Tax Manager would improve efficiency when preparing tax for your clients.
Tax Manager is a new experience that is currently in beta in Xero Partner Hub. Bulk actions high on the list of what's coming soon as we build features into this experience.
We appreciate the importance of bulk actions to everyone here and will be sure to update you all as soon as this is rolled out.

1. I'd prefer an extra status like "Information Requested" - maybe customised statuses could be available?
2. The ability to bulk select returns in 'ready to start' and create a number of returns at once would be great for client groups - most returns are done as a 'family'.Vicki Carlisle

Lock Dates - multiple or progressive lock dates are needed.
Many users ignore or aren't aware of the two lock date options so tend to put (or remove) the same date in both.
Once a lock date is removed, all prior periods are open. I am currently working on a file where I had locked 30 June 2024. Another user unlocked and edited entries. I've discussed it with them and re-locked 2024.
The user has decided to lock entries for December 2025. Then they removed that later lock date and this again meant there was no lock date at all.
If there had been progressive lock dates, when I locked 30 June 2024 and the user then locked December 2025, they (hopefully) would have only unlocked December 2025, so June 2024 could have stayed locked.
