Bills | Multi-currency - Show total amount owing at date bill raised
On a multi currency company it would be better for the total amount showing due matches the balance of all bills as per the date they were raised.
It causes confusion for clients when they pay a supplier, they usually just check total owed against the contact, if it's fluctuating to reflect exchange rates this means they may under or over pay the actual original bills.2 votes -

Xero Projects - Group estimated expenses
It would be helpful to be able to set up categories to group together estimated expenses. For projects with lots of different expenses but of a similiar type it would be useful to be able to group these to more quickly see the various costs of a project. For example, to separate out administrative costs from material costs at a glance, so there would be a 'category' into which we could put tasks, estimated expenses and expenses to distinguish from other major costs while still tracking individual costs against the specific estimate.7 votes -
Sales Invoice - Mark as shipped or processed
Ability to mark an invoice as "shipped". I want to use repeating invoices, but it's an administrative nightmare having to use an external method to track which orders have been shipped to the customer. It's not like you can even download just the invoice header information into a spreadsheet and use that. The export option downloads all of the lines, as well.
An invoice could have a field like "physical item to ship" or "requires processing after payment" that could be used to filter for "unprocessed" items.
A tracking number would be useful, too. Setting it to "shipped" would send…

Expense Claims: Ability to add notes
Xero should add "Add Note" to Expense Claim just like we have it on Bills to pay. This would be helpful for requesters to provide additional information or make comment on their payment requests. Thank you.

Invoicing | View outstanding bills - Simpler process to access
Title says it all, the current process requires a customer to full sign up with Xero (and be almost/forced to PAY) just to see an invoice history.
This should be accessible via a rotating link where the current "View all invoices" link is in the upper right -- or extremely simple login system that just takes an email and password.
5 votesHi Adam, understand that there can be confusion for a customer if it is their first time making use of the link and not already having a Xero account.
The need for the user to create a Xero login to access and view their outstanding invoices with you if for yours and their security in the information that can be viewed.
Appreciate you may like a simpler sign up process for them and I have slightly adjusted the title of your idea here for this. It's not something we have intentions of developing at this time, but we will get a sense of the wider interest from your idea here.

Expenses - Automatically recognise and code expenses from repeat suppliers
It would be nice if expenses could learn and assign a specific account automatically to expenses from a regular supplier.
The process could be:
1) I take a photo of a receipt
2) The analyse feature reads the receipt and fills in the date, supplier and amountTHE NEW BIT:

Cheques: Voucher - Show tax amount on each line item
Ability to format a cheque voucher so that the tax amount shows on each line item and not just in the total below or even better so that sales tax automatically shows within the line item amount.

Sales Invoice - Collate lines of a single invoice when exporting
When exporting invoices if an invoice has multiple lines in Xero it also appears with multiple lines on the exported Excel.
Can we have some way to collate the invoice lines onto one line on the excel?
Currently when exporting a bulk amount of invoices we have to manually combine lines on the spreadsheet for the same invoice. This can take a lot of time and often lead to mistakes as manual calculation is needed to get the correct invoice amount.

We don't have any plans for changing the format of the export right now, however it sounds like this is a common action for you, and it'd be good to better understand the use case that we can share with the team.

the duration of each project is around 3 years.I need to have an interface that allows me to input the sales invoices issued, purchases & expenses related to this project in the last 2 Financial years.
I need to track the profitability of this particular project that will be a duration of over 3 years

Payments - Add support for the US FedNow instant payment system
The new (as of July 2023) FedNow system is going to allow bill/account/request payments at a nominal fee in the United States. Are there any plans by Xero to add native support for this network?

Repeating Invoices: Nominate annual dates for issuing repeat invoices.
The option to select up to four specific dates per year to generate invoices. The every 3 month option doesn't allow for office closure periods during holiday breaks and at least one of every 4 invoices per year is at an inopportune time.

Invoices within sales overview page - Distinguish automatic paid invoices from regular online invoices
Invoices that are automatically deducted from your bank account will be shown as awaiting payment as long as they are not paid, but should be clearly distinguishable from invoices that you still need to pay, i.e. take action on. This way you have an accurate overview of your account balance, expected payments, and actions you need to take.

Purchase Order - Delivery Date for each line item
Ability to add a delivery date to the purchase order for each line item.
29 votesHey community, thanks for your continued interest and feedback. Just wanted to pop in here to share that in current state you could include the Delivery Date in the Description field for each line on the purchase order, and this will appear on the order your supplier receives.
However, if anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea!

Projects - Would be terrific if we could produce a report based on employee projects, for example to be able to see what staff currently have on, the $$ they have quoted for a period of time etc.

Batch payments - Back to revert to Awaiting Payments list with selections
Back button from the New Batch Payment window should take you to the Awaiting Payment window with the purchase invoices still checked. This has been lost with the upgrade to the Purchases window.
Now, the "back" button from an open batch takes you to the Purchases Overview, so you lose everything you've done4 votes -
Xero expenses - Ability to create custom template
Many organisations pay staff tax free money when they work away from the office more than 24 hours. Currently there is no expense claim format that allows this type of reimbursement to be entered.
Is it possible to have flexibility to create our own expense templates?

Create batch files for spend money transactions so if a payment needs to be made to say the ATO can create a batch file and upload to bank without needing an invoice.

Projects Invoicing - Show total time entries per employee
Invoice in Projects - ability to combine time entries of employees to show total hours per employee
At the moment when you create an invoice in Projects, all the individual time entries are shown which can be 2-3 pages long. It would be great to have an option to combine all time entries per employee over a selected period so that the invoice doesn't have to be 2-3 pages long showing time entries done by each employee when all we need is one line item per each employee.

At present, you can either create an invoice based on the Task or based on Time entries.
To confirm at present you can summarise the time entries by selecting to invoice as a Task - but appreciate this doesn't allow the individual lines for a employee breakdown
