  1. New Invoicing My issue is that when an Invoice has been amended after it has been sent. I have found that currently the tick is still in the box as Sent . I think it should not be ticked until the amended invoice has been emailed again. I sent it twice to a customer Also The History and Notes on that Invoice Show it was updated but not emailed straight after I edited it. Anyone else having issues with this?? Maybe I should log a support call for it. If so let me know

    Thanks for your idea and feedback, Maria. I'm just checking in with the team on the history for the send in the second part of your post here.

    In terms of the sent box being ticked. This is automatically ticked when the invoice is initially sent and does not change when an invoice is subsequently edited. Appreciate this might be something that would help your processes and I've slightly amended the title of the idea for this.

    While we don't have any plans for this right now, we'll begin to get a sense of the interest in this, here.

  2. Xero's Sales Tax Report doesn't recognize the great state of California's tax year: 7/1-6/30. Xero pull-downs only offer calendar-year options (1/1-12/31). So, we couldn't set up Sales Tax Report for largest state in the US. Please fix this. We can do it ad infinitum manually, but it seems that Xero could fix the problem. (Avalara could inform Xero if other US states also vary from a simple calendar Tax Year reporting.)

  3. New Invoicing - currently wont allow me to send an invoice (as a reminder for payment) if it is in a locked period. Which i don't understand as it is not affecting the accounts in any way.
    It is very time consuming having to download and then email from google, rather than straight from Xero as before.

  4. This would be a really helpful time saver. When our clients make payments, sometimes one payment can be for 20 odd invoices. Rather than having to find each individual invoice to add the payment (which involves these steps: click on invoices awaiting payment > search for customer > click on last page > click on invoice > add payment > then repeat all steps 20 times); there are tick boxes next to the invoices, with the options to 'print', 'email', 'copy to'... could an option be added to the tick box, to 'add a payment'? Therefore the steps would be…

    Hi Emily, it sounds like you could use batch deposit here. This is available from the Awaiting payments list like you noted and will allow you to to record multiple invoices as paid in a single transaction.

    It can be useful if you’re banking one deposit for multiple invoices, or when a customer makes a single payment for multiple invoices. 😊

  5. Can we please have the ability to set up daily repeating invoices - currently the only option is weekly or monthly. I can't find an easy work around so far.

  6. Like Sage I would like every item to have the VAT return Date and month it was recorded on attached to it and if/when it was adjusted which return the adjustment was submitted on as well.

  7. After a transaction is matched with the online download status should be matched or cleared. Once the reconciliation report is completed the status should change to reconciled. A transactions status should not be deemed reconciled until account is actually Reconciled with the bank statement.

  8. The Reconcile section split allows you to add, subtract, multiply and divide in the amount cell. The Cash Coding split section does not. I would like the Cash Coding split section to allow for the calculations so that you don't have to hop back and forth between Reconcile and Cash Coding in order to get all of the transactions in. This would save a lot of time for manual entry items.

  9. Add the ability to send remittance advice from the mobile app.

    I find do most of my nightly accounting on the couch in my living room with this app - brilliant - but still have to go into the office just to do the remittance! Annoying.

    Thanks for sharing, Guy. We're continuing to improve the app to provide more common feature our customers would want on the go. If there is any news of sending remittance I'll share an update with you here.

  10. Quality of Life suggestion:

    At present, typing in a report name into the "Find a Report" search-box will only give you a return if you're in the correct tab (eg. searching from the 'Home' tab will not return any 'Custom' or 'Drafts' reports).

    I suggest that reports from other tabs be included, at least when searching from the 'Home' tab, with an icon/heading to distinguish the tab-origin of the report.

    (I appreciate 'Published' and 'Archived' returns could run into the hundreds, so perhaps a toggle/filter would suffice to omit/include those returns as desired)

    Hi Jonathan, thanks for this fantastic 'quality of life' suggestion. We really appreciate you taking the time to detail not just the idea, but also how it could work in practice.

    We've reviewed your proposal to enhance the "Find a Report" search box so it returns results from all tabs – like 'Custom' and 'Drafts' – not just the one you're currently viewing. We can see how this would make finding the right report much faster.

    Your idea is now open for other members of the community to support and add their thoughts to. Along with votes, others can now comment on how a global search for reports, perhaps with the filters you suggested, would improve their own day-to-day workflow.

  11. IDEA - CIS suffered report to calculate the CIS suffered correctly.

    ISSUE - If you apply a credit note to an invoice that has both CIS labour and CIS materials, Xero does not calculate the CIS suffered correctly. Even though the credit note is coded to the correct nominal code, Xero doesn't recognise this. This causes the CIS suffered report to reduce the deduction amount which is incorrect. This means the figure you submit to HMRC is lower than it should be. Meaning less of a refund of CIS suffered than it actually should be.

  12. when searching for an invoice number in find and match while doing reconciliation, it would be useful not to have to hit enter every time, especially as i can only search one invoice at a time. it all adds up to excess clicks when doing large batch reconciliations

  13. It would be useful to be able to see today's exchange rates on the dashboard - I use information on the dashboard to prepare a weekly report and it's annoying to have to go to another screen to display exchange rates which also form part of my Excel report.

    Thanks for sharing this suggestion for the Xero Dashboard. We understand that when you're preparing regular reports, having all the key information in one place can be a real time-saver.

    We've reviewed your idea to be able to see today's exchange rates directly on the dashboard. We can see how having this information readily available would streamline your weekly reporting process.

    Your idea is now open to gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others who work with multiple currencies can now comment to share how this feature would improve their own workflows.🙂

  14. There is currently a way one sync from Jobber to Xero. It would be great if a sync from Xero to Jobber can be implemented to records payments in Jobber as soon as a transaction is reconciled in Xero. Similar to what is being one with Thryv and other integrations. This will save me about 1 hour of effort everyday and about 5 hours monthly when the bulk payments come in. I have tried to implement this myself however Jobber API support states they will only allow this if a partner works with them like Quickbooks and Stripe.

    Hi Jaco, I want to be open that we don't typically design and build integrations with other apps ourselves. We have a Xero Developer ecosystem where interested parties can come to get information on how to integrate and sync data from Xero with their application. If not already, I'd suggest letting Jobber support team know this is something you'd like to see and if they'd consider expanding their integration for.

  15. When adding a bank fee adjustment during the details entry of a reconciliation, it'd save a click to automatically place the cursor focus on the contact field. This already happens when we click to add details to a reconciliation, so it makes sense for the same behavior to occur when we click to add a bank fee adjustment. One click...hundreds of times...lots of efficiency!

  16. Bills: unapprove option

    Have the option to unapprove a bill so it can revert back to draft/awaiting approval rather than having to void a bill and re-enter it.

    Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the possible solution we shared a few months ago. After careful consideration taking all feedback on board, we will not be moving forward with this solution.

    We're still considering how we might solve for the issues presented here over the long term and there are other pieces of work the team are currently delving into such as duplicate bills detection that may also help solve some needs here.

    That said, we'll move the idea back to Submitted and continue to keep you updated on any progression that can help the needs expressed through the idea here. Thanks

  17. When you submit a transaction via the Expense Claims function, it will duplicate the Contact Name and add that into the front of the description, so when you run an Account Transactions report, it then shows the Contact Name twice (because all transactions automatically have the Contact Name added in at the start of the description already) but then the Expense Claims feature does it again, so your transaction report line item will show as "Supplier Name - Supplier Name - Description of transaction" instead of just "Supplier Name - Description of transaction".

    Can Xero remove the duplication here?

  19. When using the xero me app to capture an receipt image to upload to an expense, the capture is much too quick, and does not allow enough time for the phone camera to focus. Also it does not support multi receipt capture.

It would make a quick check of allocations so much easier if the dashboard for bank accounts allowed you to customise the "account transaction screen" so you could toggle between options like you can under reports - account transactions. By enabling account codes to show in the "cash book side" would help us identify misallocations so much quicker and the data is there ...
