  1. When you submit a transaction via the Expense Claims function, it will duplicate the Contact Name and add that into the front of the description, so when you run an Account Transactions report, it then shows the Contact Name twice (because all transactions automatically have the Contact Name added in at the start of the description already) but then the Expense Claims feature does it again, so your transaction report line item will show as "Supplier Name - Supplier Name - Description of transaction" instead of just "Supplier Name - Description of transaction".

Can Xero remove the duplication here?

  3. When using the xero me app to capture an receipt image to upload to an expense, the capture is much too quick, and does not allow enough time for the phone camera to focus. Also it does not support multi receipt capture.

  4. The ability to print receipts for batch payments is desperately needed.

Currently there is no way to print a receipt for batch payments. There is only the ability to email receipts or print deposit summary. Deposit summaries do not contain the level of detail that a receipt does.

Currently, to print receipts for payments recorded in a batch deposits you have to email the receipt to yourself first. The problem with this is, when you enter your email address in the blank field it then automatically updates the customers contact details with your email address, so you have to then…

Thanks for your idea here, Laurie. Appreciate the detail in your post and why you'd like to see this.

Its not something we have direct plans for atm, but we'll continue to track the interest here and share any updates.

While not the ideal solution, for the time being to avoid updating your contacts record when you click send receipt from a batch payment, you could uncheck the recipients but have the option to 'Send me a copy' checked.

  5. See which BILLS have attached documents.

On a Suppliers Contact page, under ACTIVITY tab, in the overview of the Bills/Spend Money, it would be useful to be able to see which items have a document attached to them.
    And which items don't.
A simple icon to indicate that there is documentation behind the entry.
We frequently have to add documents after the entry has been made via Bank Reconciliation rules. Knowing which items have already been populated, rather then having to open/close individual items, would be a great time saver.

Thanks for sharing, John. Appreciate not all in one place atm, however from Bills lists (Awaiting payment etc) you can see if bills have file attachments in the far right column. Similarly from the bank account Account transactions page you'll be able to see this same file icon for Spend and Receive money transactions that have files attached.

  6. The item code on the New invoicing shows much smaller that it was on the Classic Invoicing. Example attached shows how much harder it is to read. Can this be enlarged?

  7. Whilst being able to set-up a payment run directly within Xero is great and saves time, it can be tedious and difficult when trying to reconcile it on the bank.

There are two things Xero should add:

There is seemingly no way in the bills screen to review previous payment runs. Something that at least would make it easier to check back at what was included in that payment.

It should also put all payments from one payment run as one batch payment in the bank rec screen. Otherwise no time at all is saved in reconciliation as you still…

  8. In Recurring invoice templates provide date placeholders in numeric form, so you can format as YYYY MM, e.g. 2024 12, 2025 01, 2025 02 etc. Rather than the most similar option of 2024 December. This would also be beneficial within the decriptions of the lines to show dates from/to e.g 2024-12-03 to 2025-01-02 (for a monthly subscribtion or similar), instead of it populating as 2024-December-03 to 2025-January-02.

  10. When adding second line items in super. If (I did this so I know it is easy) you add a second SGC line for a fixed amount as well as a statutory amount it would be great if xero asked a warning question 'are you sure you want to add a second SGC contribution. OR if just isn't allowed. My understanding is a employer additional contribution would be the correct line item if employer and salary sacrificing if employee (pre or post tax). This will avoid an accidental overpayment of SGC.

  11. Noticed that the BRN can be filled in the "Business Registration Number" data field in Xero Contact, but how about the individual contact with an Identity Card or Passport number?

Even we can fill the IC / passport number in the BRN field, but how to choose the ID type (whether it is IC No., Passport No., BRN, or Army No.)?

  12. I like the feature that flags potential duplicate bills

I'd like the feature to also check for potential spend money transactions that instead should have been applied to the bills (same for sales invoices and receive money transactions)

If the bank statement line date is close to the bill due date, and if the amount is the same - that's enough to flag as a potential duplicate

It would be wise to make the feature able to be turned off, for the cases where there are a lot of false matches

It sounds like you may enter Spend money transactions prior to reconciling, Scott? If so is there a particular reason you need this recorded prior to reconciling?

Just to confirm what's currently available, within bills to pay and the purchase overview you'll see a notification if Xero detects duplicate bills.

Separately when reconciling, if a statement line amount matches the outstanding amount on an invoice/bill, this invoice/bill is suggested as a match. This feature is designed to help prevent spend/receive money transactions being created when there is already a bill/invoice.

  13. It would make a quick check of allocations so much easier if the dashboard for bank accounts allowed you to customise the "account transaction screen" so you could toggle between options like you can under reports - account transactions. By enabling account codes to show in the "cash book side" would help us identify misallocations so much quicker and the data is there ...

  15. We print packing slips for every invoice we print, since the changes xero has made it has added another step in out process, we are all about streamlining our processes. We would like to revert back to the old way as this is adding time and is also adding more unnecessary files to our computer system. please help us to streamline this process again as the current system doesn`t work for us

  16. Move the "add last items" in the invoicing screen. Half the time the Billable items button comes up first in its place, but then moves to a lower point on the screen. The problem is if you click on it before it moves to the lower point on screen or just as it does, you end up with the last invoiced items on the invoice that you don't want.

  17. It would be really useful to be able to have a column in the 'awaiting payment' section where you can mark the group (i.e. Direct Debit) so when you're setting up Telleroo payments / batch payments, you can easily see which one's are Direct Debit suppliers without either running a payables report or clicking into the supplier to see which group they belong to

While we don't have any work planned for being able to move multiple lines at a time, I've slightly adjusted the title of the idea here for this specifically, and we'll continue to track the interest for adding multiple lines at once from this idea.

If there are any plans made we'll share update on each idea respectively. Thanks

  20. Currently, when generating management reports in Xero, users have the ability to compare data across prior months and multiple periods. Some reports, like the Cash Summary, also include an “Average” option, which is a helpful feature for identifying trends.

It would be highly beneficial to extend this “Average” functionality to all relevant reports—particularly the Profit & Loss report—to provide more consistent and insightful analysis.

Additionally, the current average is calculated based on the financial year to date. This approach becomes less useful at the start of a new financial year when only limited data is available. To improve this, it…
