choose where an ABA file downloads on my computer
Dear Xero,
Currently, when downloading an ABA file it will save in the Downloads folder by default. And there's currently no feature in Xero that allows us/ users to choose the location of this download.
Are you able to help fix this issue, so the users of Xero are given the opportunity to choose the location, where the ABA file gets saved?
1 voteHey Shamina, download location is handled by your browser settings, so it's not possible for Xero to make this change.
For example, to change the download location on Chrome, you can head to Settings > Download > Location.
From there you'll be able to select a new folder to save your downloads to, or have you browser prompt you for a location each time.

Contacts - Gmail integration
I would like to see the integration with Gmail (and other emails) to the Contacts back. Not sure why this has been removed, but it was very useful
2 votesHi Des, after careful consideration and investigation, this feature no longer provides the product experience that meets our standards at Xero. As part of a bigger project to enhance and improve the contacts overview page later on in 2023 this feature to connect Gmail and Office365 to contact in Xero will be removed - We have an article that shares more detail about this on Xero Central.
If you'd like to save a file to a contact record, you can continue to do so by downloading the document from your Gmail or Office365 account and uploading this in the 'Related files' in the top right of the Contacts overview page.

AU Payroll | STP 2 - Report of changes to employees
I would like to be able to run a report in Xero to see the updates I have made to the employees list and spot errors if any. This will help to review, identify errors in an efficient manner.
6 votesThanks for raising the idea here, Harshita. While there's a downloadable CSV for the Pay Item transition, this isn't something that's available for employee changes as part STP 2 transition.
The nature of the transition tool means you won't have to repeat these steps once rolled out, and being open with this we'll mark the idea as not planned.

Integrate XERO Quotes with Pipedrive
Make an integration with Pipedrive to be able to quote from pipe drive or at minimum share a link to Pipedrive from a XERO quote.
1 voteHi Letitia, we have an open API that enables interested applications to develop and build an integration with Xero themselves. However, being open we don't tend to build integrations with 3rd parties ourselves.
You can share this link to our Developer community with Pipedrive which they can explore if they're interested.

I use ADP ROLL as my payroll. Can we have links to ADP payroll services of all types they provide?
1 voteHi Dennis, looks like ADP have built and provide a direct integration with Xero atm. We don't develop many integrations ourselves instead we have an open API to enable other interested businesses to do so. It'd be best to contact ADP directly to enquire if there is a service they offer that you'd like them to expand their integration for in Xero.

Invoice Detail
No Tradespeople doing work for me provide a breakdown as part of their invoice ie hourly rate, number of hours or materials cost.
One I asked said there wasn't enough room. Another, when requested for this information, sent it in the body of an email.
Why is this happening?1 voteHi Sue, not really an idea as such here - this could be a question you ask in Discussion over in Xero central to understand how other businesses in Trades are working with invoicing.
The current fields of an invoice are listed here - the way you'd like to record hours and materials qty's associated to your work may be good to get advice from your advisor on.
For example, if you have regular services or items that you sell you could set these up as untracked items, and leave indicators int he description field of where you'd like a Tradesperson to write hours worked or Qty of materials used.
Alternatively, they could type the hours in the Qty and Price would be their hourly rate, or qty would be numbers of units of a material and price would be the cost per individual unit.

Invoice - Display sales margin
Xero has the sell price and cost price of our products. When my sales team create a quote or invoice, why isn’t there a display of the profit margin on invoices and quotes to help them see their profitability?
4 votesHi team, though we don't have plans to include at an invoice level, you can run the Inventory Item details report to view the margin of items within a period.

Create the option to Remove CIS schedule from the RTI section when your Company is not eligible for CIS
You should be able to remove the scheduled CIS from the RTI submissions if the company isn't CIS registered it shows orange like you have missed this.
VERY ANNOYING1 voteHey Sammy, in the screenshot you've shared, the EPS for Month 1 is displayed as 'scheduled' because it has not been submitted to HMRC yet.
EPS are generated in Xero, but not submitted until after the 12th of the following tax month.
So in this case, the EPS for the periods in your screenshot will be submitted after the 12th May.
Once we've passed the date for submission, HMRC will accept the EPS and the status will change to 'Accepted'. This is unrelated to your CIS schedule,
This is in keeping with HMRC's advice for Employer Payment Summaries, and you read more about this here.

Hey Paul,
Thanks for sharing this one!
Having a quick read, I'd say this is one for our friends over on the API Feedback board.
That's the best place to share feedback and suggestions directly with our API team 😊

Xero Connect
I would like to know if the below three supplier enterprises in South Africa is supported to outomatic import the invoices into Xero. These are big enterprises with a lot of customers and transactions.
Kaap Agri
BKB
OVKAutomated integration will be great.
Regards,
Anneke1 voteXero has an open API which means anyone can develop an integration without providing us documentation or consulting Xero.
Because of this, we don't collect suggestions for new integrations here on Product Ideas. We'd encourage you to reach out to these organisations directly, to chat about developing a Xero integration.

Assign Contacts to multiple Clients in WorkflowMax
It would be really helpful to be able to assign an existing Contact to a new Client. For example we receive multiple projects from Architects or Builders with different Clients. Each time we add the contact into a new Client's project, we make a duplicate Contact entry. It would be great to have the ability to assign an existing Contact to a new Client, and merge the duplicate Contacts.
1 voteThanks for engaging community, Marianne. While appreciative of your idea - feedback for WorkflowMax(WFM) product are best shared by raising a ticket while on WFM - See more info through their website.
This goes direct to WFM specialists who can feed this back to the right product teams for consideration. To keep feedback through the right channels I'll remove your idea here, but encourage you share through WFM Support. 🙏 -
Webhooks - expand to include Projects, Quotes and Purchase orders
Webhooks are currently limited to contacts and invoices only - greatly limiting their use. Please expand out the available options for webhooks to include projects, quotes and purchase orders, etc.
1 voteHi David, ideas for webhooks and integrating or syncing data with Xero from an or to an external source are best raised with our Developer community. You'll find their community of ideas across here where we'd recommend raising this. 🙂

GST Account needs to be split
Please allow the function to split the linked accounts for GST Collected on Sales/Income and GST Paid on Purchases/Expenses. It's extremely frustrating to have them all lumped into the one account and makes year end reconciling much more time consuming and difficult. Needless to say, it makes it a lot harder to do year end adjustments correctly.
1 voteHi Jodie, the single GST account in Xero is designed to calculate and create the org's Business Activity Statement based on the accounting method selected in the org's settings. I want to be open that we don't have plans to change this.
However, you could use custom tax rates to separate different rates within the GST account.

Obtaining a PAYG payment summary for an employee when employer is using STP
I would like to be able to obtain and print out an employee's PAYG payment summary (ATO now calls these Income Statements) from Xero. I am using STP. Employee does not agree to ATO's terms and conditions in MyGov so can't obtain the PAYG Payment Summary from there and ATO was resistant to posting it to the employee but when finally agreed to do so said it would take 4 weeks!
2 votesHey Ralph, it's not possible in Xero to access and print out income statements from an employee's MyGov account.
Whilst much of the information in an Income Statement comes from the STP filed as an employer, this doesn't allow us to access or provide income statements to employees through Xero.
In these cases we'd really recommend working with the ATO for a resolution, as they'll need to confirm the income statement is 'Tax Ready'.
More on income statements can be found on the ATO website.

export contacts list - presently doesnt include ABN
ABN number needs to be included on this report as this is presently excluded
company name / address/ banking details / legal name etc are all included.
is it possible to include the ABN?2 votesHey Kellie and Tracey :)
I've just confirmed for myself that this feature is already available in Xero.
When your contacts are exported, the ABN will appear in column AF 'TaxNumber' and the ACN will appear in column AL 'CompanyNumber'
If you're still having trouble with the export, I'd recommend reaching out to our support team for a chat!

Bank Feeds - Mapping for Bank Rules
Description against each transaction on the bank item should come through as "PAYEE" and not "Description". Bank Feed coming as "description" makes it difficult for bank rules as you cannot see the full description against each transaction when reconciled and this is sometimes stressful as you have to refer to bank statement all the time for full description.
Why when bank statements are imported, the description against the transaction is put through "PAYEE" and bank rules are much easier to make and the full description comes through.
Why not on a Bank Feed?
2 votesHi Mayuri, the way data is imported into your bank account in Xero is through information provided and mapped by the bank. This isn't something we're able to control on an individual basis.
The only way to control how data is mapped into the fields in Xero would be to stop the bank feed and manually import statements to your org via CSV where you can map columns of your statement file to fields in Xero, however appreciate the efficiency you likely find from have statements automatically import to Xero.

how do I go back to the old quote
how can I revert back to , or can I revert back to the old quote system ?
4 votesAppreciate your idea, Peter. Right now, we’re currently building a greater consistency between Xero experiences. And one of the projects that supports this is the quote modernisation - Read our blog here for more information.
We understand that these changes might take a little time to get used to, and we don’t have plans to revert back to old quotes. But rest assured that we're committed to continuously upgrading our technology. So we’ll move the status of this idea as ‘not planned’.

Add payment to customer account
option of applying payments to customer accounts rather than an invoice.
1 voteHi Nitin, is there a specific reason you'd rather pay on account than match with the invoices a payment relates?
Contact accounts are connected to the Accounts Receivable in Xero, and to ensure these balance the accounts receivable is only impacted when an invoice is created, payment applied or credit raised for a customer.
Being a fundamental way in how Xero is designed and works I want to be open that we don't have plans for changing this.

Full Cash Flow Reporting and Budgeting
Cash summary report is OK but full cashflow forecasting and reporting (P&L plus Non Operating) is imperative for clients to forecast and track bank movement. This is available in MYOB Essentials (only thing it has over Xero really). Please please please
5 votesHi everyone, returning to the idea here. We'd encourage exploring Short term cashflows and Business Snapshot with Xero Analytics. These tools can give you deeper insight into how your business is performing and upcoming payments.
If there's something within these tools that you feel could further enhance your experience and understanding please do raise as a new idea and we'll can consider this as we continue to develop.

Multiple Accounts receivable and payable accounts
The ability to have more than 1 accounts receivable and accounts payable account. This would provide a separate account for non-trade invoices and bills, also intercompany invoices and bills that are sent to another region or subsidiary for reimbursement. This would make tracking intercompany and eliminations cleaner and easier to track.
2 votesAppreciate why you may like to separate some of the Accounts Payable and Receivable transactions to segment for these type of things.
While we don't have direct plans for enabling posting to these accounts directly we do have help that explains how you can set up multiple accounts in this way.
