    I would like to propose a feature enhancement to support businesses in Singapore that operate with a base currency other than SGD but are required to comply with IRAS GST submission guidelines.

    Under current IRAS requirements, when issuing invoices in a foreign currency, the GST amount must also be presented in SGD using the prevailing exchange rate at the time of supply.     Thanks for your votes and comments on this idea for a SGD conversion box for GST compliance. It's clear this is a feature many of you would like to see in Xero, and we really appreciate you sharing your feedback. For now, it is possible to use the Reference field to include the SGD value of the transaction. We’ve reviewed this idea and while we can see the value it would bring, it's not currently on our short-term development roadmap. We'll be keeping an eye out for more interest (votes), as these are a key factor in helping us decide what we build next.


  3. It would be great if Xero allowed businesses to display logos in transaction details, similar to how many banks are now doing. This would make records more visually clear and easier to identify at a glance.

  4. The way an invoice displays on an invoice it so very different to how it appears on the Receivable Invoice Detail report - it is ridiculously different (and in many cases, unreadable).

    Can Xero please honour the spacing entered in invoices (for a reason) on the Receivable Invoice Detail Report.

    Not really understanding why this wouldn't automatically be the case.

    Thank you for your idea. While we appreciate the suggestion, we've decided not to add this feature to our current plans. For users with a large number of invoices, the report would be too big to be useful. This would really only be a good option for users with a small number of invoices.

    If you'd like to achieve this, you could consider using add-ons.

  5. Reports eg Transaction reports, should be able to be summarised by tracking category. Currently if a bank transaction is spread across a number of tracking categories, the transaction report will report this as 'multiple categories'. This is very unhelpful.

    Appreciate what you're asking here, Simon. However when grouped or summarised by tracking and a bank transaction has multiple lines that are coded to different categories its not possible to show these all on the report.

    On the flip side of this, if you run the report on a Grouped by basis you'll be able to see the transactions related to the multiple categories and can drill into the transaction to view the detail.

    Alternatively, adding a Related account column to the report you'll be able to see the account the transaction is coded to. Then, running the report for the related accounts e.g Sales would give you the line by line breakdown so you can view each tracking option the transaction has been allocated to.

Xero decided to limit the number of billable expenses one can view at a time when invoicing to 10, as was explained to me, because some organizations have a large number of billable expenses and it taxes the system and slows down the process of invoicing if more than 10 show. The exact opposite effect happens, however. Now, one has to page through dozens of windows to find the billable expense, instead of simply scrolling through 100+ bills. Even worse, there is no way to sort the bills, so the target of the invoice may be on page 36 taking…

    Hey Scott, really appreciate your feedback on our update here. We want to be transparent that the change to billable expenses in invoicing was something that we implemented due to lots of feedback that we received, and we don't have intentions on returning to the previous behaviour. On review, we first marked this as feedback based on it being a removal of a new feature, however we will shift this to Not in Pipeline to set expectation.

    This means other members will still be able to vote on this idea, and we can track if this is still an idea that trends.

  7. The new invoicing update has significantly slowed down my workflow. Previously, the sales account category and GST were automatically applied to all line items on draft invoices created via Projects add on. Now, I must manually input these details on every line, and I can’t save the draft invoice without doing so. We have very long invoices and this is now causing a lot of extra work. Opening case requests has led to empty promises that the developers are aware and are onto it and so I'm posting here in the hope that Xero might listen to this request for…

    Hi there 👋, appreciate you raising this through product ideas in the hopes of getting more attention for this issue.

    I've taken a look and can see your communications with our Xero Support team, and that this has been raised directly with our product teams. While I have also shared your feedback directly with product on this, I want to be open that the best method to stay updated will be with our specialists via your case on Xero central. As soon as they have any updates they will share with you. I'll soon remove your post from the ideas forum here.

    In the meantime, as they suggested the best solution would be to raise the invoice through Sales and then assign the invoice to your Project.

    Hi Gemma, while appreciate your idea and how you'd like to synchronize data between Saturation.io and Xero as we have an open API we generally don't build integrations with other applications ourselves.

    We have our Xero developer centre where interested parties can get information on integrating with Xero. Welcome to share this with Saturation.io to see if it's something they'd look to develop themselves.

  10. There is currently a way one sync from Jobber to Xero. It would be great if a sync from Xero to Jobber can be implemented to records payments in Jobber as soon as a transaction is reconciled in Xero. Similar to what is being one with Thryv and other integrations. This will save me about 1 hour of effort everyday and about 5 hours monthly when the bulk payments come in. I have tried to implement this myself however Jobber API support states they will only allow this if a partner works with them like Quickbooks and Stripe.

    Hi Jaco, I want to be open that we don't typically design and build integrations with other apps ourselves. We have a Xero Developer ecosystem where interested parties can come to get information on how to integrate and sync data from Xero with their application. If not already, I'd suggest letting Jobber support team know this is something you'd like to see and if they'd consider expanding their integration for.

  11. Rows on invoices - On the new invoicing manually adding rows is cumbersome for a mechanic business suggest making more than 1 row on the invoice. I rarely have an invoice which is less than 6 rows.
    Font size- Font is very small and should be increased to at minimum 12pt.

    Hi Lynda, appreciate your feedback here. As you may have seen from updates on this idea we have now added the ability to add multiple rows to an invoice at a time in sets of 5, 10 or 20 like you could in classic invoicing.

    Earlier this year we also enhanced the invoice grid to optimise font size, padding and column widths. I want to be transparent that we don't have further plans for changing the font size in invoicing.

    Thank you for raising this idea about the ability to amend CIS returns before submitting them. As per HMRC requirements, the CIS deduction is an event that is legally tied to the cash transaction of a payment being made. Because of this, the final return is based on these completed cash transactions, and any changes must be made through HMRC's official amendment process. Therefore, the ability to edit the return before submission is outside of Xero's control as we must adhere to the strict requirements set by HMRC for the CIS scheme. While we understand this isn't the answer you were hoping for, we want to be transparent about why this is not something we can build. We will continue to explore any potential solutions that may align with HMRC's future requirements, but for now, we must follow their strict compliance rules ✨

Though I am grateful and happy that the "New Invoice - Cursor Default Position" was resolved, thank you, it is now affecting the amount of time it takes for the draft to autosave after entering/selecting the contact. The amount of time it takes for the draft to autosave is significantly longer now than it was before the cursor position was fixed. The draft is still "saving" even after I have entered the rest of the information into the date, invoice number, and reference fields.     Thanks for sharing, Angela. With the way autosave works, you should be able to just keep drafting your invoice and it will save in the background. So you don't need to wait.


    If you're noticing a significant lag in the invoice saving, this is best investigated by our team of specialists. I'd recommend raising a case with our Xero Support team on Xero Central who can take a closer look into this with you 1-on-1 🙂.

  14. Currently, Xero automatically assigns holiday leave to the pay period in which it falls. However, for businesses with a different pay schedule within the tax periods, (e.g., a financial period running from the 6th to the 5th of the month), such as cut off being the 28th of the previous month and paying on the 5th of the month. this can cause confusion and misalignment in holiday pay processing. Employees may receive their holiday pay in a month that doesn’t align with the leave taken, leaving them out of pocket or causing administrative burdens.

    We appreciate you sharing your thoughts on how this would improve your payroll workflow. While this is not something we have plans to develop at this time, we will continue to use your feedback to help us shape the future of Xero Payroll. As noted by others in the idea, one option for now is to continue manually adjusting the leave hours for the correct pay period. We acknowledge this isn't an ideal solution, but it does allow you to correctly apply the leave across pay runs.


  15. I’ve integrated Pabbly Connect with Xero to automatically create invoices. The workflow in Pabbly shows a successful execution, but not all invoices are actually being created in Xero.

    Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Is there a way to debug what might be going wrong between the successful webhook execution and invoice creation in Xero?

    Additional Details:

    The webhook receives all required data including customer, line items, and invoice date.

    Pabbly workflow shows "Success" status after sending data to Xero.

    However, when I check Xero, some invoices are missing entirely.

    No error message is shown in Pabbly.

  16. I've always felt like your software was created by people who have never used the software themselves because some of the pathways and defaults just don't make sense. Note: I access Xero using the Chrome browser.

    Hi Jenna, we appreciate your feedback and the detail you've given is great. However, it's best that strange behaviour or performance issues are shared with our specialists at Xero Support who have tools to be able to investigate and escalated with our team if something isn't working as it should.

    There are a couple of your points I wanted to confirm here;

    • Bills to pay - you are able to set a default page for this. It sounds like it may currently be set to Paid bills in your org. You can set the default by clicking the 3 dots in the top right of the page where you'll see 'Default bill page' to select your preference
    • Default for bills due date - From the same place you can go to for invoice (Invoice settings) you can set a default Due date for your bills.

    We are extremely frustrated with Xero's recent change to email branding, which now forces our invoices and communications to include the Xero logo. This change makes our company look unprofessional and cheap, as if we are using a third-party service rather than managing our own finances.

    Appreciate your feedback here and I see you have also found the idea around the Xero logo shown on invoices sent to customers.

    We want to be transparent that we will not be bringing back classic invoicing, however we are still committed to developing and bringing further improvements to new invoicing that we know matter to our customers. You'll find a few ideas that have been raised across the forums here that are in the progress of being worked on by our product teams.

  18. After years of using Xero and the majority of our invoices each month being repeat ones, I am increasingly frustrated with the lack of the most basic features for repeating invoices.

    Combined, there are thousands of upvotes for the most basic features, most of which have been submitted years ago. And seem to go totally ignored by the Xero team.

  19. Your new "Make Payment" button and the Action column can not be removed/disabled in the Bills view. It is repetitive, distracting, and disruptive to my normal workflow.

    I would appreciate it if Xero did not diminish my user experience as a paying customer in order to promote a new service it is offering.

  20. New Invoicing - bring back the 'save and continue adding' button in drafts, a feature classic invoicing offered. When completing invoices with multiple lines it is imperative that it you can save during input without having to save and close. Especially now that the new invoicing is unreliable.

    Hi Meradene, as new invoicing also encompasses auto save there is no need to manually save your invoice. Once you've added a Contact, as you move between fields of your invoice Xero will continuously save any data you've entered.

    It sounds like you may be having trouble with this though and if you're finding you're loosing information you've entered I'd really encourage reaching out to our specialists at Xero Support who can take a closer look to investigate what's going on for you.
