Reporting: Aged Reports - Run in different currency
Ability to run different currencies in Aged Payable report.
Purpose: Because some organisation make their sales in a different currency, so it’s beneficial for them to run these reports using different currencies.
Hi everyone, thanks for all the valuable feedback and ideas shared regarding aged reports in different currencies.
It seems that this idea picked up several different themes over time so we want to clarify where we’re at with this. In the past few months our product team has worked hard to improve the functionality in this area. That includes releases for totals when run in a single currency - so you can see a total of your foreign currency, and disclosures 🎉
We’ve introduced FX disclosures on the Aged Reports, which displays as a note at the bottom of your report or as an icon next to figures on the report to indicate that they include revalued foreign currency amounts to give you more flexibility. The disclosure will contain all the currency information that has been used to calculate the figures in your report. The exchange rate note will display by default, but we’ve heard from some customers that they want the ability to hide the disclosure. We’ve added this option under the More button. Hiding the disclosure this way will also remove it from all exported versions of the report. The disclosure can be re-added to the report later if desired.
While we haven't met the original request, we are confident that the new disclosures functionality will make it easier to understand foreign currency balances. Being transparent we have no plans to build the ability to run aged reports in a different currency. If you still find that you need the ability to run aged reports in a different currency, even using the improvements we’ve released, you’re welcome to create a new idea so we can gauge user need from this point on.

This is an area that Xero seems to be very poor on & looking back through the requests below, am I wasting my time asking for a report change to see amounts in EUR (when the base currency is GBP)?
I have been a big champion of Xero over the years but the lack of progress here (and concern on your part) is worrying!
It is very hard to match bank receipts (in EUR) with the amounts on the Aged Receivables report. It causes a lot of extra reconciliation work for us!

My first response when using Xero 2x years ago which was recommended by our accountants, was that Xero should not be calling them selves multi-currency when they cannot run a simple report like creditors in the currency due for payment. So many comments added today should enlighten Xero to the importance that simple foreign currency reports are needed ASAP.

QuickBooks can accommodate this requirement, why can't Xero?
It's beginning to cause major problems.
I may need to rethink using Xero for all my clients and move to something that better suits my needs.
Such a pity.

Not to mention the multicurrency is giving us unknown cents difference after the revaluation...kinda hard to sell the multicurrency feature and lesser headache to explain

Loving how this getting traction, the lack of this simple feature to split out and report my debtors into EUR, GBP, USD, CHF et al adds so much time and Excel trickery to my bank IDF reporting each month.
As many have said, the strong multicurrency element of Xero was a major draw for me to bring the entire international group of companies over from Quickbooks. Seems to be going backwards not forwards!

Since I'm not getting any answers on here, I will have to ask this question on Instagram and Facebook...

I actually cannot believe that after all this time it is not even "in the pipeline". I do agree with David and others that it feels like the multi-currency has been mis-sold and in turn I have inadvertently mis-sold it to my clients. I am amazed that this isn't seen as an important feature. So many companies large and small deal in other currencies. OK it will sort out the accounting side but I would ask do Xero have any bookkeepers in their development team? If you are dealing with large payable invoice runs its quite ridiculous the way it has to be dealt with in Xero. I have been a real Xero supporter and changed all our clients onto this software but really really disappointed with the response to this request.

Kelly please stop telling us what xero can do - we want it to do more; xero could be said to have missold us their foreign exchange functionality which includes essential reporting. Stop adding whistles and bells - for example the 'new' bills screen. Do you have any accountants actually in the development teams?

It is very problematic to not be able to see foreign currency in accounts payable easily like we have been able to previously. One if the main reasons we went with Xero was for their capabilities with foreign currency. We are really hoping for a fix for this quickly.

The new Accounts Receivable report does not show that there are different currencies on an account whereas the old report did with blue highlighted 1. If the new report showed the highlight it would be easier for me to balance the ledgers and at a glance show me the accounts that have various currencies

This is a great idea - just to add to this, if this is not done earlier, please add the feature that iscurrently on the old reports, where you will be able to see the original currency that the invoice was raised in. It is easier for customers reconciliations if you have the original currency that the invoice was raised in.

Hi admin,
Please make the multi-currency available for aged report as well, same way as "Profit&Loss New-Report in multi-currency" idea which has been recently granted.
Thank you.

I know that it is possible to see from the Sales and Purchase Ledgers the original currencies but it would be very helpful to be able to see in the Aged Receivables report the original currencies that the recievables are denominated it.
We were asked by one of our clients if it was possible to see the total recievables owed in original currency from customers.
This would be very helpful for our clients who sell to customers globally.
Thank you.

We work with HSBC invoice finance, the report we use now, for outstanding debtors list in gbp and euro, will be cancelled after 31-07-2023. What alternative are you offerings us. In the contract we need to product a full aged outstanding invoices list per end of the month per currency.
Please advice urgently.

if you have several large transaction foreign currency suppliers it is critical to be able to quickly and easily see what you owe for the foreign currency bills/balances to enable quick and easy checks and payments to be accurately set up. 2x years of using XERO with it's current method is very frustrating with foreign supplier accounts

Accounts receivable and payable report detail should be able to have "invoice currency" and "invoice amount (source)" column.
I have to create my own separate accounts receivable detail or summary in USD.

Really need this for payables & receivables, it's preventing a number of clients from switching to Xero
The ability to filter by currency would also be helpful
Thanks
