Organisation settings: Email Templates - HTML template to send with invoices
Ability to create email templates using HTML.
Purpose: It’ll make users’ able to edit the email templates easily, especially when inputting their company logo.
We appreciate the interest in more customisation when sending documents from Xero, everyone. Currently in the space of new invoicing we have recently released a new send modal that enables the use of rich text formatting, and allows you to cc and Bcc emails.
Currently this is limited to send of invoices with new invoicing only, however over time we will look at expanding this to other areas of Xero that you can send from. I'll keep you updated of any further enhancements surrounding this, here.

How strange Xero does not allow you to put anything half decent in an email template. We need this please.

Thanks for the update and reply.
Though it is a far response to the highlighted problem.
HTML in Invoicing has been a feature from a good while now, and so I don't fully understand what the formal notification on a feature that already exists means?!
Problem is with HTML / rich text in sending quotes via Xero + the question is, if this is possible with invoicing, if this already exists in Xero features, why not simply implement into Quotes? -

Critical to "experience" is to be able to develop brand awareness at the same time as communicating with customers. Getting HTML capability in both email and invoice templates should become Xero's "priority".

Agree with Alex + am somewhat disappointed that Xero hasn't bothered to reply, address the matter or explain why HTML is not possible on quote features? seems simple enough, especially as these features are already implemented in the invoicing.
Would appreciate a written response to better understand if Xero has plans to upgrade this problem? -

Is there any update on this yet? This would be HUGE for our company to continue to start using Xero.

Hi Kelly, thanks for your response and good to see that the matter is being addressed, for us this is critical, literally.
"We will get to email templates overtime" seems a polite way of saying "nothing is being done" which is a big disappointment.
You have HTML on other features and so I fail to understand the complications of implementing it into the quotes template, seems a very "doable" not too complex and would make a world of difference to some of us.
If Xero went to the trouble of creating a quote base template why not support it with one of the most basic features to date?Ilan

A vote for enabling this asap. It's pretty embarrassing to send invoices and quotes that can't include basic formatting. I feel like my customers may start asking if they can recycle the perforated ribbons they tear off of the sprocket-fed paper. :)

Even more critical to have HTML template to send with QUOTES
If its possible to adjust invoice to HTML why not same with QUOTES? -
Nadea Nell commented
Any feedback on this - it is crucial for us to be able to have rich text when we email Quotes.
Also, we fail to understand why, when we email invoices rich text is possible, but not when emailing quotes. This leads us to believe that a solution should be an easy "fix".
Your response will be highly appreciated.

This is critical if XERO wants to stay in the game!

As others have commented, this really is essential.
We use FreeAgent for our UK business and the ability to do simple text formatting (font colour, bold, italics, etc) and also an html editor option, allows us to send much more helpful emails signposting the important invoice information.
Come on Xero!

This is of cricital importance to our business so that we can highlight key information in the email template body.

This needs to be done, I have steered clear of sending invoices from within Xero as it looks so bad. Company branding and professionalism are so important, and the basic rich text format for email communication is embarressing*** embarrassing!
All I want to do is copy and paste my signature in!
We are not asking for a full blown Outlook 365 implementation, just very basic HTML formatting functionality, you know the kind, that was possible in the year 2000!
*** I just had to edit this as you dont even support spell check.

this needs to be done. what i want to do for the quotes. is add accepted or decline button. then when i dont hear back form the customer i can prompt them to click one. if they decline it will pop up with question and choices why it has been declined

I am wanting to customise my emails from Xero to mirror my emails I send in Outlook. Is there anyway I can do this?

Ability to include a QR code image in the invoice reminder emails as payment QR codes are quite common these days. It makes it easier for the client to directly scan and pay from the email.
Can the image be self-hosted and linked via html code?

Nearly 10 years since the original post and still no further forward. Shame on you Xero. This isn't a hard request to implement !!!!

Even just the signature...

Yes please!
The ability to customize and fix our logo sizes as we see fit will help a lot or even self-host the image due to compression issues.
Another is to add payment QR codes (adding image to the email) which are very common in my region for mobile banking payments.
Also to allow very basic formatting like bold, lists and the like to make the email more readable and for more prominent information to stand out.

We also need the ability to be able to send emails from our Microsoft 365 accounts rather than the Xero email address.
This has been requested multiple times by numerous people, but the consumers seem to be getting ignored for very basic feature requests which are critical to security and reputation for our companies with our clients. We are looking to automate as much as possible, which Xero seems great at, but there are a few very simple things lacking which is such a shame as it is letting the product down so much.
