Contacts: Statements - Allow to be sent to Contact Groups
Ability to send statements to contact groups.
Purpose: To make users’ easier to send statements rather than sending it individually.

It would be a great option to recognise various end customers through a single primary client (if that makes sense). i.e 'The ABC Fund' CARE OF '123 Pty Ltd'... The DEF Fund' Care of 123 Pty Ltd; So 123 Pty Ltd might have e,g 10+ customers who like to pay their own invoices but id like the invoices all to go and be recorded against 123 Pty Ltd. So my clients are accountants who have multiple smsf trustee clients of their own that they provide to me to audit. The accountants pass the invoices they recieve onto the smsf trustees to pay the audit invoice that i generate, not the accountant. Its common for accountants to have this arrangement in place. But id like to do it with the accountant as the 'care of' client. For this to really work and be effective though means that the Fund name or final recipient would have to be enlarged on the invoice to say 'hey this is for you ultimately' then the accountant would have to drop in significance to say we are in care of this invoice which we will then pass on. A customer through a customer. The current reference on the invoice is not achieving quite the same thing.

@ David Champ. We have a similar workaround and it's the best we're going to get from the Xero system as the developers are completely ignoring these threads.

We have decided not to adopt Xero just yet partly because of the lack of Groups filter in Invoices and Statements.
I have devised a workaround in case its of use, since we do not use the actual Xero Contact Name in communications with the client (only the Persons names) we add a ‘/E’ (email), ‘/P’ (post) etc to the end of the Contact Name, it’ easy then to use the name filters (in both statements and invoices) to filter on Email or Post.

This is something Xero has been told about for months if not years. TIME TO GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER GUYS!

Xero, surely this is something that can be easily done and would make a huge difference when identifying customer groups for sending out monthly statements

I think it was be a huge benefit if I could 'group' various companies in Xero for accounting and cashflow/budgeting purposes. Does anyone know if there is an app/add-in that is able to do this?

This needs to be put in place to easily and quickly differentiate the posted versus emailed versus direct debit customers. We currently have a staff member that has to scroll through hundreds of customers each month and click each one in each group so that they get the correct type of statement. Contact groups is a good idea but only if we can make good use of them.

Would it be possible to send statements as per the customer groups

We need to distnguish between emailing customer statements and printing them. Super manual process at the moment which is really time consuming so if this could be rolled out ASAP that would be beneficial to a few of my clients

Create group structures in Xero that mirror XPM - so group invoices and statements can be viewed together.

very critical to us as well..frustrating that this is not available

So frustrating David. Very disappointed that basic things are not available in Xero and they do not seem to care to develop these with any sense of urgency!

This is critical to us, we cannot identify each individual contact in turn to check which Group there are in. It seems a simple addition to the filter options on the Statements page. This is a show-stopper for us!

Critical for our many school clients to send / print statements by grade / class groups. Did not know such a simple thing is not possible in Xero and Xero is never interested to quickly develop a solution. In fact Xero seems to ignore these ideas pages altogether !

Before the updates I could select a customer group and easily create a one page statement for the whole group in a couple of clicks. This ability has been disabled. I supply supermarket chains and now I have to manually create an excel spreadsheet and enter in invoice number, date, PO# and $ of every single invoice for every single store. It takes hours. Please bring back the group statement function? All the info is there so why not make it accessible to us?

They do not read this at XERO- we tried Statey but you can only send to one contact group at a time

have over 1000 customers, of which need to send statements to approx 25-30 every month (who are larger customers and/or have many transactions and/or require an end-of-month statement) - I expect this will grow to 50-80 when it becomes easier (when can define the "statements required" group of customers and just easily send statements to that group). Currently have to select one "page" at a time from the full list (limited to a maximum of 200 customers per page - and have to send stmt for each "page" as the selection is not retained (does not carry over) when move to next page).

again, Critical....

Still can't believe it is not possible for contact groups

Exactly - and at end of every month we think very bad things about Xero as we send out statements. It has been months since my first post.
