Reporting - File Attachment Report
Ability to show attached documents in Reporting.
Purpose: To provide clients to see the list of transactions which also show the attachment for each transaction.

It would be very helpful to be able to run a report of transactions with no attachments, can you send an email out when this feature is added, thanks

This would be so helpful for us and save having to manually check individual transactions for invoices when doing VAT returns or month end accounts

Absolutely, having a clear indicator of attached files directly within transaction records can significantly streamline verification processes, enhance accuracy, and expedite audits. It provides a transparent trail of supporting documents, promoting reliability and accountability in financial records. It's a feature that many users find crucial for efficient record-keeping and compliance. I hope Xero considers implementing this enhancement in future updates to further empower users.

This would be very usefull to have for our Not For Profit clients. Making a list of what reciepts need to be found before audit currently takes so much time.

Would be fantastic if we were able to see if client had attached invoice or not through Account Transactions Report - would save so much time

It would save a lot of time if the 'files' column on the VAT report pulls through when you export to Excel.

This is important for me to see which transactions have attachments and which don't. For example, I could do a Contact Transaction Summary, select a supplier and then make sure I locate and attach all of the invoices. Anything like this is currently a total PITA.

Agree with comments below. Would like functionality to export the 'transactions by VAT box' report to excel with the file (attachment) column showing - it would be easy enough to filter from there. It should also be an option in transactional reports. Is critical to be able to make clients aware, without spending significant time on workarounds, where transactions are not backed up by supporting documents in xero.

For VAT returns I want to check all transactions where VAT is being claimed have attachments and there doesn't currently seem to be a report that does this

Thank you to both Neil and John. The bank transaction option has proved really helpful. It's such a shame it isn't an option as a tick box on standard transaction reports - Sage has it (a paperclip symbol) at the end of the line.

a year down the line and we seem to be no further with a solution?
disappointing i'd love a feature where by could run report on what has/hasn't got receipts, but also a report of those actual physical receipts/invoices for a specific purchase/or service via supplier just a simple pdf with all the receipts/invoices included -

Yes, John,
This is a useful place too. I have been using this, it shows bills. To see "spend money" you do the same in Bank transactions. It all sort of works, but the attachments are attached to different fields.
For example, if a supplier has a mix of Spend Money and Bills, you need to look in 2 places to see if attachments are all there (I think)
Since the info is there, access from the reporting section would be cleaner. It's been doing my head in trying to remember all the different locations for different screen views with this showing. Have you found a way to see if a contact has an attachment?
But your suggestions have picked up stuff I missed and will meantime be very useful - thank you. -

Well spotted John. This will help a lot - I had no idea this was available.
I'll see how useful this is in ensuring nothing is missed.
Thanks. -

one other place where this functionality is almost there. if you go to bills - purchases overview - see all. The far right hand column lets you know if there is an attachment to the bill - and if you click on it you can see it.
this screen can be filtered e.g. by supplier and ordered how you wish so again might be a suitable workaround in some cases
