AU Payroll - Historical Payslip Report (bulk download)
Create a report to show all payslips for an employee for a given time period. Currently these have to be downloaded one by one.
Hey community, 👋 thanks for all your support on this idea, I’m pleased to let you know that this has been delivered for UK Payroll initially! It includes the ability to select the date range you’re interested in, and check boxes to either select all results or multiple. Then you can download your selection as a single PDF of multiple payslips.
For users in AU and NZ we know this is a highly anticipated feature, however to be open this is not any immediate plans for those teams so we’ll leave this idea open. While we appreciate it doesn’t help employers needing bulk downloads, employees can be invited into the Xero Me portal to self-serve payslip collection.

@Beau Gordon.
Well, well, well ... aren't you clever! OK that's worked.
THANK YOU

Just type allow pasting and press enter in console as it mentions in the error then you should be able to paste the code and it will work i believe
The code is basically just emulating you clicking every download button, the warning is legitimate as you can issue code in that area that can be malicious but in this case its simply logging all instances of a download button and clicking them over and over again

@Beau Gordon. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I got a warning message:
Warning: Don’t paste code into the DevTools Console that you don’t understand or haven’t reviewed yourself. This could allow attackers to steal your identity or take control of your computer. Please type ‘allow pasting’ below and hit Enter to allow pasting.

This isn't really an official way of doing it but to bulk download you can do the following in Chrome:
- Go the Employee
- Click the "Payslips tab"Right click anywhere in the browser and click "Inspect"
In the window that shows on the right click on "Console"
Copy and paste the below in
// Select all elements with the class 'fa-download' and the data-bind attribute for downloading payslips
const downloadButtons = document.querySelectorAll('i.fa.fa-download[data-bind*="downloadPayslip"]');// Iterate over each button and trigger a click event
downloadButtons.forEach(button => {
button.click();
});Press enter
This will download every payslip on the page. You might initially get a warning saying please allow multiple file downloads
Note it will just download all the files, it wont name them to do with dates or anything like that

It is so frustrating for Work Cover claims where you have to download 52 weeks of paylips one by one......
Also from Apprenticeship Wage Claims where yu need 13 week of payslips.
This has always been an easy feature of other payroll providers I have used in the past (eg. KeyPay). They have it as a report you can run for a date range on a specific individual. End each payslip is on a separate page, but is in one pdf document. Maybe that's a possible way of looking at it Xero Product Team? -

What a joke this is..I'm going to have to start looking for a different software solution I think. I don't want to invite past employees back onto Xero Me to download payslips. Most of my requests from the 72 employees I manage are from archived employees......I could be using my time so much better than clicking on a years worth of payslips one at a time for an archived employee..why is this only being prioritised for UK users?

Any progress on this being implemented yet? As a business, we are wasting so much time having to download individual payslips for multiple employees when requested. Can't believe this function doesn't yet exist.

We are required to send payslips as part of our apprenticeship claims. Xero has zero capability to produce a report to satisfy requirements - apart from downloading one at a time? We moved away from MYOB as our accountants assured us Xero could do all and more - we find Xero wanting for very basic tasks.

I am completely baffled that this hasn't been considered for an immediate plan & action for AUS/NZ users.
As Karan Campbell notes this is an essential function for Workcover claims & I now have to sit down & download 52 weeks of payslips for an employee, as a small business with only myself doing administration tasks, this is beyond disappointing to see that this issue was raised over a year ago & is still not implemented across all users.
Really disappointed in Xero's response & decision to not put all capabilities in play for all users. This needs to have priority status.
Pretty unfair if you think about it... -

Its beyond belief this has been implemented already in your UK product, but that it is not even on the list for the AUS and NZ market. If you have the capability it should be done as a given!

So yesterday I had a phone call from my new XERO account manager. I complained about the inability to produce multiple payslips. Today I got an email from XERO support telling me to have a look at 'Payroll Activity Details' report.
Wow - maybe the XERO gurus should visit the ATO website and find out the legal requirements of a payslip.
I see a recent comment that suggests downloading the PDF report and adding the required details to satisfy the apprenticeship boards.
Yes it works BUT what do you think the government agencies would think if they knew we were providing altered reports?
If these reports can be added to, they can be changed to suit. Isnt adobe great ?
My apologies for the sarcasm but once again, not good enough XERO !
This needs to be revisited ASAP. -

Hi Everyone, you know you can lodge claims without the payslip. I've been using the Payroll Activity Details Report for the selected employee. It now shows employee name against each pay period. The only thing the report is missing is an ABN so I edited the PDF document using Adobe and added the ABN to the bottom of each of the pages, takes about 3 mins to do & I've been paid multiple apprenticeship claims via this method without using pay slips at all.

Hello, when will this function be available in Australia? We need to be able to download bulk payslips for reporting on apprentices wages.

Agree with everyone here - we need the ability to download multiple payslips for third parties - ie for Apprenticeship claims. Quickbooks and MYOB both have this function. Come on Xero!! It will take me too much time to download 12 months worth of payslips which is a costly expense to our client!!
-
Sarah Little commented
Ohh this is painful! I need to download them for a third party as well for compliance reasons - it's not a good use of time at all. Come on Aussie Xero - make it happen, can't be that hard!

Perhaps you are not quite seeing the big picture on this Xero? From my perspective, its not the employees wanting this - its me! Having to download/upload one by one payslip when dealing with apprentices is getting very tedious. If is was just one employee once a quarter I wouldn't be so frustrated! Seems like community wants this but its way down your list xero. Shame.

What an arrogant and uncaring response to your Australian and NZ customers who were first on board before your expansion across the globe.
I assume you are working on the premise that it is too difficult for customers to change system providers, but I would be very careful about taking that road, I for one am advising friends and other small companies that Xero may not be the best way forward for them, and I know others are doing the same thing. In the long run, bad publicity is never good for any business.
I concur with the comments of Mollie Hammond below. -

The fact that this isn't being introduced within the Australian market or the software worldwide is a testament to how little Xero care about their customers. You've got 'management' who clearly couldn't care less about the customers needs, just raving about 'project beautiful'. NOBODY wants a more beautiful software over one that provides basic features. I don't know who is in charge of this at Xero but they need to be let go. The amount of feedback you've received stating this, yet your continued perserverence ignore your customers is disgusting. This is at the level of incompetence now. With these 'management' decisions you'll end up getting the worst reputation (already going downhill) and losing business. This is a BASIC feature on every other platform, its a minimum expectation feature not an optional one.
