Contacts - Search contacts by mobile number
Contacts - Being able to search by mobile number, when we have a missed call or a text message on the phone, being able to search it is before blindly calling them back if they haven't left a message.
We’re excited to announce that we’ve now added the ability to search the Contact list by phone numbers. You’ll find you can search by all phone number types including phone, direct dial, mobile or fax number, from the contacts list to view all contacts with the associated detail. We hope this enhancement improves your ability to locate and quickly access contacts you’re doing business with.
Whilst we also appreciate the feedback in relation to searching phone numbers via Xero’s global search in the navigation bar, this specific idea is around the ability to search phone numbers saved against a contact record - If you'd like to see changes for search in relation to other fields we’d recommend creating specific idea threads for these separately so that we can gain support and consider each of these changes individually. Thanks

Hi Kelly, I have a few issues with the global search features.
1 - only the name and email of the primary person within the contact appears in the search, excluding the additional people
2 - does not search by address, or suburb.
3 - if there is anything other than a number in the phone/mobile fields, it does not find the number entered in the search box. However, it finds the letters. Example: In my operations, we need to enter more than one mobile number for each Contact file, and so we enter "0404 000 000 Name" in the mobile field, the result is that if I search "0404 000 000" no results appear, but is a search "Name" the contact appears even when that Name is only next to the mobile number, nowhere else in that file. Strange!
The only way I have been able to get around this is to export all my contact and do a search within excel.
I hope the attachments make it clear.
Thanks

Being able to search by phone number would be invaluable so as others have mentioned, we know whose call was missed. Sage had the ability to search sales orders as well as Contacts by phone number, it can't be that hard- you have search by email now, but that doesn't help us with missed calls.

This is a brilliant and useful idea. Also search via email address would be useful.
Edit: in the interim, use the global search function to search on mobile number to find the contact.
Edit 2: oops, you can already search on email.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - contacts - search by mobile number or address.
Can't stress this enough - Customer calls up and says they are calling about 'so and so address' and I can't even work out who they are.
Also for missed calls so I know who I can call back or returning customers to find order history.
Its so frustrating!!!

We too would like to be able to search by phone number or email address, we deal with multiple clients, often only once or twice a year - being able to search a missed call by number would be helpful.

This is true of being able to search on other criteria too such as contacts postcode/address, e-mail address....anything really that makes it easy.
