Subscription Invoices - attach as pdf
We receive an email each month with a link to the invoice, which we can then print to a pdf to download & attach to another email to send to Hubdoc or Xero Bills.
Many businesses have a 'do not click links' policy.
Please attach the pdf invoice to the original email to save all your users those extra clicks.

Also supporting documentation. With the new system it creates a link in the email, but a lot of customers are missing this and requesting us to send the supporting documentation as a PDF. Please include this with the original invoice email.

Two years and still nothing! It does seem like a (poor) attempt at lock-in by Xero

Xero invoices are the most time consuming to process as they don't attach PDF invoice.

Include the XERO monthly subscription invoice as a PDF attachment in the email I get. Simple.

Opt in for einvoices - Go into your BILLS screen and you will see the option in the screen shot added and you wont need to add the subscription invoice into xero via the email or any other way like hubdoc either.
Once you have done the above go into the subscription & Billing area, select Manage Subscription, select the menu BILLING ACCOUNTS to the right of the name there are three dots click on that and select EDIT BILLING CONTACT around the middle of that screen there is an option for xero bills to be e-invoices, check the box put in your abn and confirm. - It works like a dream, I get all my clients to do that as well, and the ones I hold the subscription for I have done it as well.

This. Honestly. Xero buys Hubdoc which is supposed to make life easy by automating the processing of vendor invoices - and it truly does! It's wonderful.
But I have exactly TWO vendors out of 29 that this does not work with. One is Xero.
When I signed on with Xero fifteen or something years ago, it was the leader in the field of integrating with other apps and making life easy. Now all the accounting software does this, and Xero itself doesn't make the simplest changes to improve things.

"Get back to what you love with Xero accounting software." This is on Xero's front page today.
It would be great if Xero lived up to its own hype. The option of getting Xero invoices in Xero would be great, but an email with a PDF would be even better. I could set an auto-forward rule for Xero's PDF receipt to go to BILL or Divvy or both, saving us time. Isn't that Xero's thing, saving time?

I agree - this would save time as I manage 4 Xero companies and logging to each one for the monthly Xero invoice is a pain.

It would be very helpful to have invoices attached so they can go straight into Hubdoc. I don't understand why they're not attached, or at least the option to have them attached, especially with the Hubdoc facility!

Totally agree with this suggestion! Especially when using Hubdoc!

This functionality of it appearing directly in you bills payable is available under the new eInvoicing system which Xero supports. The issue is that Xero does not use it.
There have been training courses which Xero held recommending that I use it with my customers and suppliers but I have discovered that Xero itself has not registered to use it

An even better improvement would be for the Xero Subscription Invoice to be posted automatically into the clients Xero account so that there isn’t any input required.

Just to clarify, I'm referring to invoices from Xero Australia to partners and subscribers.
