New Invoicing - Show stock level when adding a Tracked inventory item
When typing a quote, available stock used to show (when you typed a figure in the "quantity" field (if available stock was less than required the open window would turn red) but it doesn't now. It would be great if this feature were also added to invoices (and quotations as before) so that one didn't need to check stock on a different page for each item being invoiced. I note that it shows when typing a credit note, so it must be possible!
Hi team, thanks for your contribution and sharing with us on your use of being able to see levels of stock when invoicing. Right now, our team are developing improvements to the line item grid in new invoicing, where you enter detail of your invoices. This work also involves providing visibility of your tracked inventory stock on hand so you know how many items you have to sell.
For now we'll move to working on it and I'll keep you updated of when this is released in new invoicing.

Previously in ' new invoicing' i was able to create an invoice using our individualised item code - however now i am unable to and have been forced to resort to using classic mode.
Can this please be changed prior to classic being removed.

removing this feature does not make me happy in anyway shape or form. It is extremely important to have this feature retained.
Can you imagine the extra work Xero would create for every user that tracks their inventory and the chaos this will cause.
As you will know you can put any number of items into a Packing Slip and only once you save an Invoice will you realise or not if there is actually stock on hand. But, to send your stock you have to create a Packing Slip first, so the logic of your argument doesn't really stack up.
We need to know how much available inventory we have to sell and this current feature is perfect.
It needs to be retained in the new invoicing. I find it laughable all the errors with the new invoicing. Clearly the IT Team working on this have never run their own business's and don't understand their customers needs.
Why do they keep removing functionality that we need as users. Please pass my feedback onto the Project Manager, it is critical as a business that you know how much stock you have to sell and I don't wish to make the process longer by having to open a new window and check my stock manually when it's current format works perfectly.
I'll look forward to your reply.
Warm regards

We need the quantity of stock to be included in the new invoicing just as it is now please. So, that when you are keying in the Quantity we need for an order it Xero shows us how much is in stock for Tracked Inventory.
Many thanks

Being able to see stock on hand when creating an invoice is crucial to our business. Please make this feature available on the new invoicing template.

In Classic Invoicing when you clicked on a line item quantity box, it would show up the amount of stock you had of that item in inventory. This feature has been taken away in the New invoicing. The only way you can check stock levels is by opening an extra page with products and services and search each item individually.
It was and still is a feature in Classic mode, so why not in the New invoicing. -

The "quantity on hand" in the classic invoicing is a non-negotiable for our business. We find that it is crucial in double-checking stock levels to know when we need to order more and also for cross-checking to ensure we are sending out the right amount. It is also one of the reasons why we continue to use Xero for our business. It is necessary for this feature to be carried over in the new invoicing system or at least for it to be an option for those who wish to use it.
Please consider.
Thank you. -

When doing quotes it comes up with the expression "2 on hand". in the QTY column etc. This needs to be the same for the new invoice template.

Classic invoicing over new invoicing had a great feature when adding a part to the invoice from inventory when it came to adding the quantity value it would come up and advise quantity in stock or no stock, if no stock would check if we haven't put the purchase thru or a mistake in stock. Also if this show 1 only would know to reorder, great feature. Yes there are good extras re new version but keep the basic great options, cheers

Not having this feature makes me want to change back to classic invoicing.
This is important for saving time when invoicing.

Please add this feature to invoices too. It was always available before. I see you have updated this feature to quotes but not invoices.

Yet another serious issue, dating back to 2022, which is causing Xero customers / users inconvenience, time and money and not a word from anyone at Xero.
What is the point of having this forum if no one at Xero takes any notice?
Does anyone from Xero actually read these comments or are they too busy designing slick TV ad's to get more (dissatisfied) customers? -
Tracy Kemp commented
This is actually a non-negotiable for us as we can see at the point of putting an order on whether we have the available stock. It also allows us to see as we process orders whether we need to order more stock. Since Xero doesn't have the option to set minimum stock levels as other software do, we rely heavily on this.
To remove this option is a backwards move. Upgrades surely should have the basics first??

Show the 'On Hand' Qty on the new invoicing method
The Classic invoicing shows the on hand qty when you have a stock controlled item, whereas the new invoicing method does not, could you pleas e add this as it is crucial for us and a lot of other businesses i imagine
Just giving an error message if there is not enough shock is just not the same standard as the classic invoice method

When raising an invoice we need the stock availability to show! Surely this is a basic requirement. I agree this is going backwards!!!!

We use this freature every day and in our small 3 person business, it is the primary way we note stock level and when to be ordering more stock in.
