Xero Me | Timesheets - Ability to choose different earnings rate
Before we had start/stop times, employees were able to add different pay rates (ie Saturday Penalty Rate). It would be excellent if this option could be included with the start/stop time version in Xero Me.

Also the ability to customise timesheet reports to coincide with the timesheet pay period. E.g. our staff timesheets are from Thursday to Wednesday yet when I export the timesheet details report it runs from Monday - Sunday

This is incredibly important to have an option to include a Saturday penalty rate as a multiple of ordinary earnings rather than having to manually update this. Please update this feature.

@Rachael, nothing to stop them at all. I've had it happen several times before I realised it was possible.

With over 50+ employees, I don't want them to access other pay rates except those on their template.
What is to stop someone changing their rate from level 1 to level 2 without me noticing it?

It's important as we have staff that need to select a Saturday rate (1.5x org) but cannot at the moment.
Otherwise this feature is brilliant.

Disappointing that the addition of appropriate functionality has resulted in the loss of other appropriate functionality. It makes the app extremely difficult to use for an employee who works at two different places each employing the different method for timesheeting.
I also agree with Sarah that earning rates available for selection should be limited to those on the employee's pay template. -

I support this as need the functionality as I have employees that need to add oncall and overtime.
prior to start stop times the client was looking at an additional app for this functionality
I have now had to go back to them and ask what they would like to do. Lets make it easy for all of us out there -

Yes, this and many other enhancements are needed to bring Xero up to par with other programs and thus alleviating third party programs.

I have put in place an interim solution where I use the "Type of Units (e.g. Hours)" in the Earnings Rate Set Up to be a consistent (eg. CAS.MULTI<12M)
This field seems to be the one that bunches the Earning Rates together in the timesheets
So I have all related other rates, for that Classification quoting the name "CAS.MULTI<12M" Type of Units and have updated the Earnings/Display Name to include "per hour" instead
As long as you have the employee set up with one of the rates of the same Type of Units, then all related pay rate options will appear in their timesheets
Means there are some duplicated rates if paid the same across all classifications, but they are distinguished by the Type of Units field, so it flows through to the relevant timesheet of the employee of that classification

Thanks Sarah - I totally back this
I can't figure out how Xero is deciding which pay rates the staff can access either, as they can only randomly select some, not all
Casuals can even select Part Time rates, which completely baffles me
Would be much more logical to either:
1. allocate all relevant pay rates to each employee in their profile
2. restrict at group level (eg Casual Level 4) which employees access what rates -

My staff use the xero me app to enter their hours each week. I have set up their pay templates with the correct earnings rates for each staff member.
Despite this, my staff can select ANY earnings rate when filling in their time sheet, including earnings rates NOT allocated to them in thier pay template. Of course, they are by default, choosing the ones with the higher pay rates. This means for EVERY time sheet I approve, I also need to check the correct earnings rate for EVERY employee and redo their timesheet if it is not correct.
