UK Payroll - Calculate leave in days
Create the option to use Days or hours for time off (holidays).
Holidays are often calculated in days or 1/2 days not hours.
Having this option for pay & pay rates would also be helpful and also on payslips

commentedThis is an important point for many of our clients, as their employees often find holiday entitlements calculated in hours confusing. They prefer a clear, straightforward explanation or the ability to see at a glance on their payslip how many days of holiday they have remaining.

commentedThis would really help for staff members to understand their holiday better and what is left, they find it confusing at the moment.

commentedThis is so important to all of our clients who's employees find that holidays worked out in hours is so confusing, they want a clean straightforward answer or glance at their payslip to know how many days holiday they have to take,

commentedPlease can Xero add the option to allocate holidays in days! We manage out holidays in days, not hours

commentedWe would use Xero for leave booking, if it was calculated in days. Surely in the UK leave in days should be default on Xero to fit with the legal statutory leave requirements which is set out in days.

commentedWe can't use the leave on xero because it's not in days and also the reporting is useless

commentedThere should be a feature to have leave tracked in days - a day length could be set to suit an organisation, but most salaried staff are given annual leave in days and can draw on this without it being accrued - repaying if they leave early.
The current format of hours only is good for casual workers but that is not the case in my organisation - meaning the track leave option is very difficult to do - especially when requesting leave in my XeroMe is done via a calendar not a clock!

commentedwe don't currently use the holiday function as it is not in days - it would be so much better to be able to do this and better for the staff as they could also then use the holiday request function.
In the UK - holiday is accrued in days rather than hours.
Employers who pay in hours for zero hrs contracts/temporary staff. Pay holiday pay accrued at the same time so that staff get paid for work and holiday accrual at the same time. Its really frustrating that we can't use that function - it's all too confusing - need by day, half day option.

commentedPart of the reason this has historically not been available is because the definition of a day isn't standardised - I have clients whose work week is standardised to 38 hours (7.6 hours x 5 days) and clients whose work week is standardised to 40 hours (8 hours x 5 days), and they have slightly different rates of hours accrued per week worked. Me, my minimum/standard day at work is currently 6 hours. When that changes to 8 hours, my accrued leave hours won't change, but if I had 4 x 6hr days banked leave, I would have 3 x 8hr days until I accrued more.

commentedIt would be a great ides if holiday could be worked out in Days and not just hours - especially for those who work on a number of days holiday. Personally my staff members wont appreciate having to work out how many days leave they have left as we dont work in hours! So please bring a days option!!

commentedIm only starting to use payroll in Xero as have used other softwares in the past. Ive stopped migrating clients on to it as I find the leave in hours confusing (agree it needs to be an option for part time staff) but the majority across my 20 odd clients are full time. Employees find hours very confusing if they have a full day quota allocated to them.

commentedit's absurd that holiday is in hours instead of days. This is so important. A system like this should not have an issue implementing something so simple yet so valuable

commentedI can not use Xero to manage my holidays as we use days rather than hours - so employees can book whole or half days off.
I would really love to be able to manage the leave process with employees being able to request though Xero and with criteria rules would be able to see immediately if they can not have leave on the requested days (too many people already requested). PLEASE, PLEASE create an option so that we can use Xero for this

commentedIt is very unusual not to manage holidays in days, no one in the UK recognises holiday in hours including HMRC, who set out the statutory requirement in days. Because of this we are not able to use Xero holidays within payroll.
