Contacts - Ability to set a default email template
So we have set up and had a lot of success with email templates in Xero. it would be useful to have the ability to have a default option for each contact (or group of contacts) a specific template for a specific reason eg new invoice or AR. so that everytime we go to email an invoice for example it preloads on a certain template.
Eg we have a number of clients that only speak read German and/or french so it would be nice to be able to set these contacts to default to use our German and/or French templates and brands as this will save us having to click through our templates each time o change from our default GBP.
Hi Rory, while it's not possible to set up a default email template for a contact at present you can set a default currency & branding theme.

We have just received a notice from a large corporate client that we need to change the way we send our invoices to their mailbox.
"SUBJECT of the email must be in the following format and must be unique
<Invoice number><Purchase Order number>"If we could set up an email template that matches their requirements and which is the default on their Contact card, then we don't have to remember to manually change the email for every invoice we send them.
We have several classifications of clients with a different email template to be used for each type. It's been just another thing to have to remember when sending invoices out, but with invoice receipting becoming more and more automated, there needs to be more flexibility in the Invoicing part of Xero.

it's not possible to set up a default email template.....why not - it's not difficult - if you can do it with the invoice branding, why not with the email template - surelyit isn't that difficult

Agree - we have both B2B and direct to public customers. While we can change the invoice template, the email is actually a very important touch point that lacks both style (no logos / hyperlinks) and ability to default by customer

Implementing an option to set a default email template would be highly beneficial, especially for clients who pay via GoCardless (direct debit).
The email template would remind them not to make a manual payment, stating, "The amount will be deducted from your nominated account."
I have several clients who forget they have signed up with GoCardless and end up paying twice, which creates a lot of unnecessary work. The branding theme option is not viable in this situation. -

I agree - being able to link an email setting to an invoicing branding theme would be great. I have clients with two businesses operating under the one ABN and to be able to issue invoices from one branding theme with an email template that was specific to that businesses name would be great.

This would be a very helpful feature. It's very confusing in contact set up between invoice and email template defaults especially if they're named similar. But our clients pay different ways and it would be great if the email template gave instructions based on a contact default.

We have different brands each having their own theme. The current system is very error prone. With Invoices sometimes being sent under the wrong brand for the client.
(Also the ability to bulk authorise and send as one action, would make this easier ) -

We also have this requirement as a matter of urgency too. We have a few clients that require a different email template to be sent out to them, but cannot assign a different email template to their account automatically. Come on Xero, please include this function ASAP.
It's clear that I'm not the only one requiring this functionality and the people listed here are likely to be a small fraction of the ones that must need this functionality.

We have set the Currency and brand and theme but it still means we have to manually select our german or french template from the list of possible emails. It just seems strange we can set so many defaults but not the email content
Hopefully you'll consider this in the future as it seems popular

We have client paying manually and others via debit order and need this as soon as possible. To do manual templates for every customer takes to long.

We would also love to have this functionality, as we have a different email template for insurance company customers vs private customers.
