Paying increasingly more for accounting software that doesn't even give adequate reports. Xero - when are you going to bother to look in to this?

We have been following the discussion around the creation of a Repeating Invoice Report since 2019, and we are extremely disappointed that this crucial feature is still not available. This report is essential for many businesses, including ours, to effectively manage recurring revenue, forecast income, and ensure seamless financial planning.

How can such an important metric and reporting functionality remain "on the radar" for over five years without being implemented? This is a fundamental need for businesses relying on Xero to streamline operations, and it is frustrating that we are still waiting for a solution.

Can you provide clarity on why this has not yet been addressed and what the current timeline is for its release? Your customers deserve a concrete update on when this critical feature will finally be available.

I just asked the new Just Ask Xero AI assistant what the value of our repeating invoices will be in April 2025. Sadly it responded that it can't complete the task as it's beyond its current capabilities. We really need this report as 95% of our invoices are repeating and we currently have to maintain a separate spreadsheet to calculate what our sales will be in the future. At the very least the ability to export repeating invoices to a csv file would help as it would remove the necessity of having to manually enter any new repeating invoices into the spreadsheet.

I see comments here about running reports on already generated invoices.. this is not the issue!

We need to be able to report on the actual repeating invoice instructions, either for forecasting purposes OR for amendment purposes, to see which future invoices need updating when the costs of something we recharge go up. (e.g. Xero licence recharges!!!)

There are expensive App's out there that include this kind of reporting functionality on top of their other features, but basic reporting of Repeating Invoices SHOULD be included in Xero by default.

Come on Xero. When are you going to get round to bringing repeating invoices in to the 21st century?

Hi Eric, The report I have found will depend on how you run your DDs, we do ours using a particular branding theme within the invoices, if you do this, then try; Receivable invoice detail report and filter by the branding theme.

For us, this works perfectly. (Obviously after the invoices have generated, not before.)

Hello Nadia, I don't see your point but repeating invoices are not showed in any report for the simple matter that they are created automatically every date you program them.

Clare we've used Beanbox.app in the past to solve this issue. It integrates nicely with Xero. It is a paid service, but there's a 30 day trial so you can try it out and see if it works for you.

If anyone finds an alternative accounting software that deals with repeating invoices please let us know.

Thanks Nadia, but our business isn't set up in a way that the receivable invoice detail report helps. Xero needs to set a proper report up, or at least give us an update. You can't even export repeating invoice information at the moment.

I asked the question to Xero and they sent me a link to here to see if anyone had come up with a solution apart from a spreadsheet which iS what they told me to do.

Is XERO replying to this thread for reporting Repeating invoices?

I don't understand how this still cannot be a feature - I submitted the initial comment on this thread in 2022. What more are we supposed to request! I am soon looking at other accountancy software to see if they offer this.

RECURRING SALES INVOICES Most of my clients are recurring invoices. I need to regularly identify the values and frequency to ensure no one is missed, and to analyse cash flow forecasting. I would like a report to export to Excel and PDF so I can review all recurring invoices. Including each transaction line descriptions on the report will help too.

I've recently run a report (Receivable invoice detail) and filtered by the branding theme that we run our direct debits on. This has worked for us. Hope it helps

We are still in desperate need of a detailed repeating invoice report.
Our business is based on RMR, and to gauge our company's success, we need something that can be exported to excel/.csv.
With over 800 repeating invoices, it is close to impossible to manage them without a detailed report.
To include but not limited to:
Customer Name
Invoiced figures need to be calculated on a Monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Billing Frequency

Need this as all my invoices are repeating.

Come on Xero. When are you get round to bringing repeating invoices in to the 21st century? As a subscription based business we are unable to get the reports that we need.
