Quotes - Add sales tax lookup tool
The sales tax lookup tool is really nice to have on invoices. That function should be added to quotes. When I'm trying to quote a customer, that isn't an option (sales tax lookup). I have to select a pre-saved tax rate. Seems like it would be easy to add that.

I sat down with the quote team recently and they are working on this. I agree this is a hassle.

Hello,
Having auto sales tax calculation functionality on quotes would be such a big improvement. Currently we need to set up a "dummy invoice" and copy all line items and origin/destination details from the quote to generate a real, calculated sales tax value that can be manually added to the quote.
We could also change our quote template to include the disclaimer that sales tax calculations are approximated (and derive those estimates from best-effort manual sales tax codes), but I'd rather be as accurate as possible.

Has there been any update or decision regarding the addition of AutoTax functionality to quotes and the broader sales workflow? For businesses like ours, the ability to include accurate tax information at the quoting stage is essential for helping customers budget their projects effectively.
Currently, the lack of this feature means we would need to manually enter hundreds of taxing districts, which significantly complicates our transition to Xero.
Is there any roadmap or workaround for enabling AutoTax in quotes, recurring invoices, and sales orders?

I agree with everything said below, can this product actually be created. Why was the auto tax feature not brought out on all invoicing forms, when first implemented, it causes more issues now having to bounce between Auto and Manual taxing, can this please be updated as a priority

I second what both Dennis and Jennifer have mentioned below. We need the fucntionality to be able to use auto tax on both repeating invoices and on quotes. Without having it on quotes, we run the risk of sales staff feeling eager to get a quote out and inputting the incorrect sales tax on a quote, which then has to be adjusted and results in confusion with the client.

Jennifer,
That is one reason I opened this. The others are that I have to make sure that I have the correct taxing not only for repeating invoices but also for my quotes. It takes so much more time that having to use the AutoTax feature. It is such a great feature when used but it feels like it was poorly implemented meaning only partially done. If they could add this to both repeating invoices and quotes it would be such a time saver. I would assume it should take only a small amount of programming to link it to these areas.

While the auto tax feature is nice, there's certainly limitations, which makes using it complicated. When auto tax is activated, the repeating invoices that move to draft etc should have the auto tax feature already featured. Shouldn't have to change each invoice from manual tax to auto tax.
This is especially tedious when subscription-based clients are using the repeating invoice feature. Hundreds of invoices are being put to drafts for some clients.
