Purpose: Users can set up recurring reports to the dedicated person consistently at the same date.
641 votesHi community, we appreciate this idea has collected a fair amount of votes and commentary. This has all been shared with, and considered by, our product team - so they have an understanding of the work that would be required for this.
We'd like to confirm that, at this stage, the automatic generation and sending of reports is not something we have plans to develop in the near term. We are still interested to get a clearer understanding of demand for this feature, and we'll continue to track this through the conversation and votes on this idea. If there's any change we will let you know!

Tracking - Not For Profit Tracking Categories for Statement of Activities
Ability to produce statements of activities that can specifically produce tracking categories for not for profit organisations.
Purpose: This will make a not for profit organisation can classify different types of income that they’ve received using these specific tracking categories.

Purpose: Undo button will make users reinstate the transactions easily if they remove it by mistake.

Purpose: With notes and comments, users will have extra details with the debts that the suppliers/customers owned to users’ business

Invoicing - Unique Reference Number for Transactions
Ability to add unique reference numbers to transactions so that user can search by the Xero reference number.
Purpose: Will be helpful in identifying which transaction belongs to the paper copy of the invoice in a client's records
20 votesHi everyone, coming back across this idea we do want to confirm at present for Sales you have Invoice numbers that do need to be unique in Xero. You could ask you customer to reference this as a look up. If you'd like to change this, you can set the Prefix and starting number from within your invoice settings and you'll find you also have options to set this for Quotes and Purchase Orders - More on this here
The 'Reference' field of a transaction is slightly different and does not need to be unique, many businesses use this in slightly different ways and I want to be open that we don't have plans for changing this behaviour anytime soon.
Appreciate there are some that would like to see a numbering sequence for bills and I'd recommend adding support to this idea where this is represented.

236 votesHi community, we're thankful for all your support and letting us know the importance of this idea to you in appropriately recording Fixed Assets in Xero.
As many will have experienced we've launched a new version of Fixed Assets to most regions with just a portion of AU left to receive this new experience. There's been lots of work from the team to develop this version all built on updated technology that'll enable growth in this space, overtime.
Currently, though we've done some initial discovery of what'd be required to build the capability to proportion assets depreciation for business and private use in all regions, this hasn't been currently planned for the short term.
For the time being, we'd recommend posting manual journals to record the private use apportionment of a Fixed Assets depreciation.

Purpose: Because there are some industries that are benefited by getting 13 month/13 four weeks accounting period (e.g. restaurants that depends on running on a weekly sales basis).

Reporting: Sales Report - Track sales by sales person

10 votesHi community, as you've found Xero doesn't currently have a function that automatically tracks or calculates sales by sales person.
In the meantime, you could use tracking when you record your sales, which will allow you to report based on sales made by each sales person.
A suggested process is:
- Create a tracking category called something like 'Sales Rep', and create category options within the category for each of your sales staff.
- When a sales invoice or quote is created, you can include the staff member's name in the staff member (Tracking) field on the invoice/quote.
- You can then use the Tracking reports to see the sales that relate to each 'Sales Rep' and calculate commission manually outside of Xero.

We understand that the ability to easily track deferred GST is crucial to your workflows.
Currently 7A on the BAS is a manual field, which does not update the figures on 1B. To adjust for this, we recommended the following workaround:
- Enter the original purchase as BAS Excluded.
- Once you have the Customs Entry form N10, you're entitled to claim a GST credit. Create a Bill with the value of the Deferred GST showing on the N10. Code this to your GST account (820 in the default Chart of Accounts) using the tax rate GST on Imports so that it shows separately in the Transactions by BAS field report and gets reported under 1B.
