  1. This will allow for easy review of an employee's age alongside their current payrate and adjustment post birthday. Currently, I run two reports, Employee Contact Details and Employee Remuneration Report, export to excel and merge to allow cross reference of all information. The remuneration Report would also benefit from having all wage categories to select if needed, ie: Saturday Rate, Sunday Rate, Public Holiday Rate etc. Negating the need to access each employee pay template to check correct rates have been set up.

  2. Unscheduled pay run - most of my unscheduled pay runs are paid on the day of creation.
    It would be good to be able to change the payment date to the actual date of payment instead of the date selected by the unscheduled pay run.

    E.g. unscheduled pay run for the week ending 13th Aug has a payment date of 16th Aug yet payment may have been made on 18th Sep.

  3. We need to know how much to provide for on the balance sheet for annual leave and long service leave each month and track these for our financial statements. All the information is available via Xero payroll (leave balances and pay rates for each employee as well as leave accrued and leave taken) but in order to account for this correctly we are expected to export reports and do the calculations ourselves. And we need to maintain external files to reconcile this to each month.
    If Xero is offering a payroll and leave tracking function it should ensure the accounting…

  4. I would like to know if there is ever going to be an update to Xero me timesheets to allow employees to enter words instead of regular hours in the description box eg. I am a house builder and have about 6 different sites on the go at the same time and I would like to be able to allocate my employees time to which house they were working on so that I can then charge the customer the correct fee. My employees get different rates of pay so not easy to set up using timesheet tracking.

    Appreciate your input here, everyone. This is a feature that our team have looked into and would like to develop for AU Payroll, however there are a few other key pieces of work lined up before they get a chance to explore this further.

  7. Can you please give the option to inactivate past employees/leavers from payroll summary when doing reports. Every employee we have ever had is coming up on the report each time.

    Also how do I set up overtime payments to stay on employee profile instead of using the drop down menu every week.

  8. Can the Annual Leave Cash Up leave type please be automated to roll into Annual Leave once the payrun is posted. It would be a great time saver.

  9. Flag duplicate leave entries on the same day
    We are extracting leave data through API to manage resourcing including leave booked. We have a few cases of employees with duplicate leave on the same day entered and approved in error. It would be great to see a flag or warning pop up to approvers and payroll admins where more than a standard number of hours leave is applied to a given day. The number of hours comprising a working day could ideally be set for each employee.

  10. We would definately want to see the hourly rate and hours for overtime for staff on annual salaries.
    At the moment the overtime hours are printed but not the rate of pay for the overtime.

  11. just like overtime wages, it's important to separate unused annual leave paid from regular annual leave paid because this will enable accountant to quickly cal-check whether super guarantee has been calculated/set up correctly. it's impractical or inefficient if we have to check all the pay item settings.

  13. Create the option to use Days or hours for time off (holidays).
    Holidays are often calculated in days or 1/2 days not hours.
    Having this option for pay & pay rates would also be helpful and also on payslips

  17. Payroll UK Student Loans
    Some employees can have Plan 1 and 2 at the same time. At present Xero payroll can only deal with 1 plan. The option should exist for an employee to select more than 1 Plan and the correct deductions be made.
    This is how repayments are allocated between Plan 1 and Plan 2 loans
    For the 2023/24 tax year the repayment thresholds are as follows:
    • Plan 1 loans: £22,015
    • Plan 2 loans: £27,295
    If you earn below £22,015 you will make no loan repayments.

  19. I've just set up a salary sacrifice for a cycle to work scheme in payroll. However there isn't an end date in Xero so I have to manually diarise a date to stop the salary sacrifice for the employees. Please could a box be added to automate this.

  20. Not sure about other pensions, but when using NEST, Xero doesn't currently link up how you would like it to.
    Whether you pay staff monthly or weekly, you are bound to have a cut off date for calculating hours which is before the date you send payment to employees.
    The info that gets shared when filing the pension records is the "payment date". This physical date falls under the following pay period meaning when the info is transferred to NEST it comes up as the wrong period.

    (monthly pay) 24th Aug - 23rd Sep, with pay on 30th…
