We have imported all our contacts (a mixture of customers and suppliers) into Xero but they have all gone into the "All" category and there is now no way of assigning them to the "Customers" or "Suppliers" categories. It seems like a crazy restriction that not even the Xero people can fix for us. My suggestion is to allow us to move them out of All into one of the other categories.

    Thanks for the interest in the idea here. As noted in my last update Contact Credit Limits might help some situations but we appreciate may not suit all needs. We don't have any direct change planned for this feature atm, but we'll continue to monitor the interest around this and share if there's any progress with you all, here. 

  5. When viewing a contact, the options to "add group" and "remove group" are two separate functions, making moving a contact from one group to another very clunky. This request is to combine the add/remove feature, so you can simply select/unselect which groups a contact is in. This would mean that to move a contact from one group to another, you would simply deselect the old group checkbox and check the new group checkbox.

    Hi Andrea, if you'd like to have a field to enter your SAP # into you could look to save this as the Item Code for inventory you set up in your org. You can search items from products and services in Xero , and export your inventory items so you'd be able to export all item codes if this is where you save your SAP #. 

    If you're looking for the step further of being able to scan inventory into the system - this isn't something we're looking to develop for and you can see more on this from the idea here 

  8. We need to export donations from Xero to our CRM system. However, matching on Name is looking very difficult but we could add either the CRM ID to the Contact record as their Account Number, or their email. However, I can't find a way of exporting a csv containing the date, amount, and either email Account number. Can this be added?

    Hi Nigel, coming back over your idea here I wanted to confirm it is possible to export contacts and their data from your Xero organisation.

  9. I would like to have clients phone numbers included when saving a CSV Export of Invoices. This feature is unavailable, though all other client data such as name, address and email gets exported.

    I need to be able to track my clients 6 monthly and 12 monthly and send them SMS and this is the easiest way to access invoice dates and client data in a CSV file.

    I find it very strange the phone data column was not included and hasn't been requested until now.

  10. Have the ability to set default settings for every new Contact you add to Xero.

    Our default tax will always be Tax Exclusive for example. We should be able to set this as the default to all new contacts added, as well as:

    Default account
    Currency
    Invoice Theme
    Invoices Due Date

  12. It would be good to be able pick from a pre-defined list of countries. This would enable clean data entry. Also we are syncing data with Hubspot and it is causing issues with matching to pre-defined lists with the CRM

  13. XERO Projects, Could contact details i.e email addresses and phone number be assigned to a specific project, these would normally be different from the original company contacts details. This would mean the right persons would receive the invoices or quotes sent from a particular XERO project. Could this be done within the project tab.

  14. The new notes section is a good idea one of which I suggested however its really not very freindly to use.
    its buried at the end of the contact detail which means you have to navigate here.
    The window is far too small - want a lot larger window at least 3 times the current box size which would make it easy to see and edit.
    Would like it to appear on the invoice page so that one can see and edit as necessary when creating invoices.
    There is a lot of white space on the invoices and I feel…

    Hi Peter, good to get your feedback on this feature and though we appreciate hearing the changes you'd like to see it's good to keep each idea on a separate thread so we can get an understanding of the interest for each alone that the team can consider. 

    We have an idea surrounding the ability to view contact notes when invoicing over here that I'd recommend joining, and have adjusted the title of your idea here to reflect your first ask of moving this notes section somewhere it could be more readily edited on their record. You're welcome to start new ideas for each of the additional points you've made here. 

  15. Contacts. I would like to say the upgraded version of contacts is clunky, and would prefer the older system over this 'new upgraded' system. Having to 'save and exit' before adding all other contact details is adding more steps to an otherwise simple process. Thanks

    Hi Vashte, appreciate change can take a little getting used to.

    However, we can help you out here! While the Save and exit is always available when adding or editing a contact you can simply click through each section. 

    The detail you enter between section will hold until you leave the page - So, you can enter in all your details before selecting Save and exit. 

  16. Using the new Contracts form, when verifying a subcontractor, you are now asked to enter the CIS Tax Rate (Gross, 20% or 30%) before you verify the subcontractor.
    You cannot save and verify with HMRC unless this field is completed. Without verification, you cannot be certain as to the tax rate.

    The error could occur where you choose a rate for the purpose of being able to 'save and verify'. If the verification failed and you required to speak to the contact, or in most cases wait for HMRC to add a subcontractor to the CIS scheme which is currently…

  17. It would be handy to be able to customize the view screen on the contacts screen within Xero. Ie add additional columns - a payment column? It would be a lot easier to have a visual of payments received rather than having to click on the invoice or run a statement against the client to see when payment was last received / paid. It would also be handy to have an item column that includes payments. As well as an option to reconfigure the column order, Ie. Date in first column.

  19. As an Xero customer, I would like to be able to add Instagram as a contact field within organisation details, so that I can easily direct customers to my Instagram page.

From within your contact details or Quote or Invoice - why not have the functionality to communicate to a client via WhatsApp or send the Quote or Invoice via WhatsApp. If you are in the construction industry, acknowledging that not everyone is in construction, the craftsmen you work with only gets to Mail and acceptance of quotes in the evenings. WhatsApp's they respond to easily and quickly ....
