  1. Update new Invoicing to allow sending invoices to contact groups as you can in the classic invoicing. It's ridiculous that something so useful has been left behind in the switch to the new style. I need to be able to amend the invoices I send out based on the individual needs of the group. It saves so much time to be able to create a default set of drafts that I can amend rather than having to go to each individual and create an individual invoice within that group. Please guys, piull this across!

    Hi everyone, we updated this idea to Under Review a couple of months ago and to give a little more detail - We know being able to invoice all members of a Contact group is something that our users find valuable. While we don't have a timeframe for this change right now, we're committed to developing this in new invoicing before we retire the classic version. We'll keep you updated of progress through this idea.

  2. To be able to bulk download invoices for a client or multiple clients.

    With also the ability to filter to all invoices, paid invoices and not paid invoices.

    Hi Amy, could you give a bit more detail on what this would help you do, or is there a specific format you'd be looking to download invoices in? 

    Currently, you can export invoices from Xero and would be able to filter these in exported CSV file, or can do a search to do this before exporting - More on this here

    Hi Sharon, recently we released a new feature in Contacts that will enable you to add a note for a contact that can be visible from a contacts record - Right hand panel meaning you could add any detail about contacts that you receive payment from at the time goods & services are supplied in this field. 

    Is this enough to solve your needs here? 🙂

    Hi Carol, making sure I share back you idea correctly - would you expect the groups to the same as the groups that you have set up in XPM and sync with your Xero organisation? Or just have the same capabilities for contact groups in an organisation as you do in Practice Manager? Thanks 

  5. When entering multiple contacts, it would be good to have the option to "save and create new contact" as well as the "Cancel" and "Save and Close" option after entering the information. Currently you have to press Save and Close, go back to Contacts, then select New Contact.

  6. We use another software programme which exports all our customer details and invoices etc into Xero automatically. The other programme uses Google to create addresses. A lot of the addresses include te reo, so include macrons. When the text is imported into Xero the macrons cause non-recognition of the characters, so we end up with a mess.
    Surely in this modern world, Xero, an Aotearoa, New Zealand, developed programme, can be made to recognise our indigenous (Official) language, and allow correct te reo spellings.
    This is 2022 not 1922, please allow us to get this basic NZ requirement correct. Xero…

    Hi Karin, would it be possible to get a few more examples of names that you've tried to import and not have show with macrons? 

    One of our team have tested creating a contact via import with the name Whakatāne (/mækrn, me-/) and this created a contact in Xero as shown in this image. 

    It'd be great to better understand and see if we can look into this a bit more.

    Hi Moses, not something we have plans for atm but to better understand where you'd like this notification to be triggered from - Would this be to auto send a happy birthday to staff that have been invited in as 'user' in the organisation, or just where they're an employee via Xero Payroll? Thanks

    Hi Amna, could you explain your idea a little more? Would this be to send bulk comms to multiple contacts from Xero, or something like being able to set different persons on a contacts record to receive different types of transactions or communications? 

  9. It's so frustrating to go looking for a customer when you know they are on the system but you just can't find them. However, if you look in All Contacts, they are there.
    I know that Xero is meant to mark them as a Customer if a sale transaction is entered against that account or as a Supplier if a bill is allocated to them.
    However, we have had instances of customers with no bills against their record - only sales invoices but they still can't be found in customers.

    HI Alec, you're right that contacts in Xero are classified by the type of transactions that are entered for them. 

    Something doesn't quite sound right there with the example you've mentioned? Is it possible the contact has had receive money transactions entered rather than sales invoices? If so this would cause them to not appear under Customer. 

    Another option if you'd like to manage customer and supplier groups yourself would be to add new contact groups that you can then attach individual contacts too in your org - More in our help here

    If you're having trouble working out why the contact is appearing in one list over another it'd be good to approach our specialists for help who can get access to your org and dig into the history of a contact you're having trouble locating. 

  10. When you view a contact, you are able to see outstanding invoices and quotations from this contact. But it will be helpful to see quotations that have been accepted by this contact to make invoicing easier.

    Not a capture all but maybe a step in the right direction for now that could help, Maureen - Smart Lists could help you get a view of the customers that you've not sold items to recently. 

    You could run a New Smart List to view Any customers who have Not Purchased Any items In the last year - Find out more on Smart lists here

  12. It would be great if we could search from within a customer or supplier record for a specific invoice or bill number.

    It is difficult at the moment to search as
    1) there are always notes in the way that can't be hidden
    2) you have to exit the customer/supplier to find the screen where a search is available.

    Having used other accounting packages, I was shocked to see this wasn't available within Xero.

    Hi team, trying to understand more of the intention behind searching this detail on the contact record - Could you share any reasons or scenarios in which you;'d want to view other contact info along side the invoice details you're locating? 

    Alternatively, as some might be using - you can use the view recent invoice or bills links to navigate to a full list of invoice for a specific contact. On the other hand you could run the Payable / Receivable Invoice Details reports to search and view invoice details. To zone in you'll be able to filter by Contact.

    Hi Andrea, if you'd like to have a field to enter your SAP # into you could look to save this as the Item Code for inventory you set up in your org. You can search items from products and services in Xero , and export your inventory items so you'd be able to export all item codes if this is where you save your SAP #. 

    If you're looking for the step further of being able to scan inventory into the system - this isn't something we're looking to develop for and you can see more on this from the idea here 

  14. Ability to add a Pay Now link to statements so customers can pay all outstanding bills via the statement they receive.

    Purpose: To make it easier for customers to view and pay their outstanding bills and make a bulk payment for all at once.

    Hi everyone, we wanted to return and give a little more information with the update of this idea's status.

    Our product team are currently looking into the development of adding the Pay now button to Customer statements which would enable your customers to pay for multiple invoices at once.

    Though it's early days at present we'll keep you updated of their progress, here.
