Bulk matching invoice receipts from a Direct Debit run
For a company that takes Direct Debits from customers and the receipt appears as one line on the bank statement it would be useful to be able to bulk match the receipt to multiple customers rather than having to manually select every invoice the receipt relates to. You could do this by being able to import invoice payments in the same way you can import invoices into Xero.
3 votesComing back to this idea we're going to switch this to delivered - you can make use of Batch deposits to group and match payments.

hubdoc login page doesn't show entity if you only have one
I find it frustrating that when I login to the apple app I need to select the entity when I only have one - would be great if it just went straight in. Thanks
1 voteHey Daniel, thanks for suggesting this one.
Understand that having to select an organisation is a bit unnecessary when you only have one!
As part of the new update coming to Hubdoc, you’ll instead be greeted with your organisation’s document list when you log in, making it faster and easier to get the information you’re looking for.
You can read more about this update in the April section of our building on beautiful page. -
Bills: Ability to search by Created Date
Extend the search function under bills to pay to include creation date to help elevate duplication when exporting data to csv file.
I want to export invoices from Xero to import into a CRM platform to use as a job cost analysis as this is not a function Xero currently has.
All invoices dated the 01.09.22 will not be input on the same date so there is no way to ensure you have exported all the invoices for the 01.09.22 unless you delay the export. This is not a practical solution for me as I want to assess the profit…
4 votesHi team, returning to the idea I wanted to highlight that you can currently run the History & notes report which could be filtered for Type = Bill, and type 'created' in the search bar.
Relating to the ability to identify duplicates - our team are currently working on aa duplicate detector that'll further help with this process, so you'll be able to review bills that have been identified as duplicates and take needed action before exporting - You can stay up to date with work for this on this idea. Just add your vote to receive updates 🙂

Contacts | Search - contacts with no invoices (variation: no paid invoices)
Using Search, I want to generate a list of my customers that don't yet have any invoices at all (or none in the last year).
This is the best way for me to see which customers have not yet done anything.1 voteHi Scott, this is actually possible with Smart Lists in Contacts.
You can run a new search for customers that have been Invoiced less than 0 Ever (see my image below), which will give you a result for any contact that has never been invoiced in your org.
Similarly you can set this for a specific Invoice Status or base the search on Payments. 🙂

Quotes | Apply contact defaults
Hi.
Prior to the recent update to quotes, the default sales settings inputted onto a contact would carry across to the product rows on the quotes.
i.e you could set the default department and category for a customer which would auto-populate when you entered a product / tabbed across the product line whilst inputting the information.
Do you think this functionality could be restored? The ability to tab across has actually been removed too, could this be re-added to? Or if there's an alternative key to press that would work too.
Purpose: to save sales people time when inputting large…
7 votesHi everyone, sorry we've not updated this idea sooner. With feedback and smaller iterations to the new experience for Quotes our team have made a change so that contact defaults saved within a contacts record will flow though to a new Quote once the Contact has been selected.
Once you select a contact within your Quote you should see a small pop up at the bottom of the screen to indicate that these have been applied - Like the example I've attached

Bank Rule - Set tax treatment (Inclusive, Exclusive, No Tax)
We have some suppliers that charge tax (e.g. VAT) and others who do not (e.g. from abroad).
On the bank rule creation/editing page, it would be useful to be able to specify the default taxation status (i.e. Tax Inclusive, Tax Exclusive, No Tax) for all transactions being processed by that rule.
This would save having to manually select the correct tax category on every bank rule transaction during reconciliation.
3 votesHi team, not having any response to our last update we will move this idea to delivered. To confirm - when using bank rules to create transactions you can specify the tax rate that should be applied to the transaction within step 3 where you allocate line items.
For example you can set if the bank rules created from certain suppliers would have VAT rate 20%, zero rated or No VAT.

Filter to manual reconciliation screen
It would be useful to be able to filter the account transactions page between reconciled and unreconciled transactions, as well add a date range. I have to do lots of manual reconciliations so being able to filter the transactions that actually need reconciling is quite important
1 voteThis is possible, Katie 🙂
If you click Search from the Account transactions tab of a bank account, you'll see an option to enter a date range and select Status 'Unreconciled'
Here's a pic

Account transaction reports - View description and account coded to
It would be very useful to be able to create Account Transaction reports for individual or grouped bank accounts that show detailed descriptions and split transactions and which account (chart of accounts) each item in the split transaction is allocated to.
1 voteYou can already do this in the Account Transactions report, Ann.
You can select to add Description and Related account as columns so you can see the detail and account each line was coded too.

Sales invoice - update draft invoice date to 'today'
Repeating invoices which are created to be draft. I then call the customer to confirm the settings are still accurate and sometimes have to wait for 1 week. It would be helpful to have a "Today" button at the bottom of the calendar that opens to quickly set today's date as invoice going out
2 votesHi Christiane, I see you're also a part of the similar idea across here.
Just like noted there, you can use the keyboard shortcuts to update a draft invoice to todays date by pressing the letter 't' when in this field 🙂

Bills - Approving supplier invoices
Why do we now have to approve supplier invoices once entered in Xero?
There has obviously been an update to change this. How do we revert back to once a supplier invoice has been entered it shows straight away under awaiting payment?
1 voteThis may depend on how you enter bills in your org and their set up.
Manually entering, there has been no direct change to behaviour and you should see options at the bottom of the create bill screen where you can Save (which will save as Draft) or Approve.
Hubdoc has options that can be selected to determine the status a bill is published from Hubdoc to Xero with, whereas both email to bills and eInvoicing have always generated Draft bills that require manual approval.

Create custom customer report by group
Ability to download a simple customer group report with only Contact name and relevant email addresses to enable easy mail merge with existing software.
1 voteHi Bethany, if these contacts are set up as a group in Xero you can export just those contacts from the Contact list view.
This file will contain the Contact name, Email as well as other details.

Calculate unit prices in invoices and bills
It would be great if when entering invoices and bills, in the unit price you can enter multiple numbers. Like you would in a cell in excel. Eg. =100+500+100. and when you tab across to the next field, it totals it up to show 700.
Thanks.2 votesHi Michelle 👋 - Xero has an inbuilt calculator. You can find out how this works in our help here

Xero Accounting app | Dashboard - Remove overall cash balance
Remove the Overall Cash Balance section from the mobile app. It takes up too much space. There is already a bank account summary section so it is unnecessary and if it must be there put it at the bottom.
2 votesHey Community, good news! You can now have those widgets in any order you like 😊
We've made some improvement to the Xero Accounting app, to enable users to rearrange widgets on their dashboard.
You can place that Overall Cash Balance widget wherever you like. Even if that's right at the bottom, Matthew 😉
The screenshots below have a visual of the new change.

New Threads Needed - Xero Successful Ideas Implemented Thread
This is starting to wind me up... nothing useful ever seems to get done. The ideas section is a re-hash of the old one (just with everything deleted for ease)
So what is the point of an idea's section - if all that happens is it fills up with some great ideas that not only never really get done, but also no one ever really knows exactly what has been implemented (with rollback options).
So here's my starter for some new threads :
A detailed thread that shows which ideas have been implemented - when they were first suggested and…
1 voteHey Will, you can find a list of all our delivered ideas across both Accountants and Bookkeepers and Small Businesses by navigating to that forum, selecting 'All ideas' as the category and filtering by 'Delivered'.
This list will show all the ideas suggested by our community that have made it in to Xero, as well as who suggested them and when 😊

Reconciling a credit-card bill for which "points" (vs real money) have been applied as payment
We need to be able to reconcile a credit card bill for which "points" (vs real money) have been applied as payment.
The next month's credit card bill came in with all the credits as single-time items to "reconcile". Xero Support wasn't able to give instruction about how to reconcile those credits. They told me to post here for a new feature.
1 voteAppreciate your were sent to the idea forum here however there are ways to reconcile these payments in your Xero account currently, Cheryl.
If you have both the bank you're making credit card payments from and the Credit Card connected to your Xero organisation, you would be able to create 'Transfer money' from the bank account to bring down the balance of your credit card in Xero - More on managing credit cards in our help here
When you receive a 'points' on your credit card that pay off the balance it sounds like you also receive a statement line for this in Xero? If this is something you commonly deal with, you could look at creating an account in your chart of accounts that you'll be able to create 'Receive money' transactions and code these statement lines to.
It'd be best to check in with your Xero advisor…

Aged report - By contact group
We have created contact groups (Accountants Names) and have allocated all of our contacts to their accountant. We want to print a list of the overdue debtor amounts for each accountant so we can follow them up but there is no report that does this.
1 voteHi Kylie, you can achieve this with the Aged Receivables summary report where you can either group by or filter to a particular contact group 😊

Report - All Excel exports in up to date version of Excel
Please create all excel exports from Xero in the currrent .xlsx format. Some are still produce in the old file format (for instance General Ledger Report) and have to be resaved to bring up to date.
3 votesHi team, as you'll all likely be aware our older reports are going to be retired on 31 July this year(2023)
You'll find all of Xero's new reports where you select to Export Excel come in a .xlsx format 😁

Receivable Invoice Summary - summary by calendar month
Run a report to show me (based on calendar months) my total invoices
The Receivable Invoice Summary does not appear to allow me to do it by month, only by Invoice date with is too fine a detail. There should be an easy option for per month3 votesSounds like you'd to be able to run the report for different date other than the invoice date? This is possible via the Date Search field, select the drop-down arrow and you'll see you can run the report for the date range entered based on the Created date, Due Date, Expected Date, or Invoice Date 🙂

Currently, only have the option of accounting depreciation but can't change it to tax depreciation.10 votesHi community, thanks for contributing your support and interest for adding Tax Depreciation Schedules to report packs. With a recent update we've made it possible for Partners to include Tax Depreciation schedule as a report in Report templates.
You'll find the Depreciation Schedule, Disposal Schedule, Pooling Summary and Pooling detail all options when adding reports to a template from your practice. 🙂

Sales Invoice - Tab through invoice to add new line
Automatically insert new line when tabbing across on new transaction/ invoice
11 votesHi team, just rounding back on the flow here.
When using new invoicing you'll find as when you type in any field of a line, a new line is automatically inserted beneath.
So, you can either tab through fields or use your mouse here. 🙂
