New Invoicing - Ability to add file from library
New invoicing add file from library
Hi everyone, we appreciate you engaging with us here and your patience while we got this developed in new invoicing. We have now released the ability to attach a file from your file library, and you'll see this option when you click 'Attach files' at the bottom of the invoice. Thanks

very very important for me to have this feature

As many other users have commented, I would add my support for having this fixed urgently. I've tried new invoicing 3 times with a view to just getting on with it, but have switched back every time as it is not functional in its current state.
Please, please, please consider postponing the switch over until the testing and functionality is complete on new invoicing. We email all invoices into Xero (RCTIs up to 500 per month) and enter invoices directly from the files window. Are you seriously suggesting we now need to save these files onto a computer and then upload manually one by one into the invoice window adding two steps and removing visibility to the process?
This needs to be delivered NOW and not in a few months, as we are unable to do further testing without it. Thank you. -

This feature is paramount to our business. We have to send attached documents to our invoices by law and not being able to upload from the library, will increase our invoicing time. Lack of this one feature would seriously make us move to Xero's competitors, as we cannot justify such cost.

It makes my work a lot quicker so it's an important feature

I agree with Dorina Cho's comment below. Why release "updates" before they're ready?

Why do all the 'NEW' improvements remove existing functionality? So frustrating

The new sales invoices does not allow the same option as the classic, where you can attach a PDF from the files in xero then view it in a box. I use this all the time, some invoices are self billing so you need to take this information and attach it to your sales invoice in xero.
Please bring back this function, it is so time wasting having to attach it afterwards and not being to view at the same time, ahhhhh! -

While we are on this subject, QUOTES have the same problem!!!

This is a very important function for all of my clients. If it's not available in the new invoicing, it means the new invoicing is not ready... Xero shouldn't be launching and forcing everyone to use it by Sept of 2024 until it is ready.

"in the next few months"
It's been a few months, any ETA? While I find the data entry on the new invoicing slower it's not a show stopper. But this functionality is. The architecture of Xero / development team capacity concerns me if getting this bit of code migrated is such a big deal.

The classic invoicing style is able to attach files from the Xero Library which has been very useful, especially with Hubdoc files that I publish to the Xero library. The new invoicing isn't able to do that, it only allows me to upload files from my computer. Please add that function to the new invoicing.

This is such an integral part of many people's workflow (based on comments), that (as a software developer), I cannot believe that you did not do proper User Experience testing on the new invoicing. Or is this the user testing?
I personally would not be forcing the switch to the new invoicing until everyone is using by choice. -

With excitement I’m evaluating Xero to move over within the next week as this feature was exactly what convinced me to move. But with disappointment found out that this only work on old invoicing which expired in September. Now I’m uncertain if I want to risk a move where this feature possibly will not be introduced into the new invoices.
My workflow requires to attach a Proof of Delivery to invoices, these PoD’s are captured by the driver upon delivery by taking a photo on a mobile thus Hubdoc - Xero is a win (or maybe not). -

I won't even consider using the "new" invoicing until this feature is in place. I can't understand why it was launched without it.

Couldn't believe you had removed this feature when I tried switching to the new invoicing today! Seriously - this is essential to my workflow and clearly many others here feel the same.

This needs sorting before you remove the old invoicing, we attach service reports with every invoice, currently to do this in the new system would involve so much waste!!!!!

It has been 14 months and this feature is still missing. We had to switch back to classic style invoicing exactly for this reason. If you want to deprecate the classic style, you MUST add it, otherwise we will be losing an important feature, which we use regularly.

14 months later and it still hasn't happened. You wouldn't want me as your boss!

Sonia Myers commented
if you are planning on getting rid of classic invoicing it is imperative that this is sorted first, otherwise it is a regressive change.

Absolutely vital to our work flow! Please get this sorted as soon as possible guys.
