Workpapers - Ability to lock review point
Lock review points.
Review points should not be able to be edited or deleted especially when done by partner. Manager should be able to respond but not edit or delete the original review point made by someone higher

Payroll Journals
Allow facility to turn off payroll journals so they aren't automatically posted into the accounts.
Problem: Business which operates in departments and wants COS payroll journals and overhead journals. Unable to split out the NICS/PAYE through payroll, meaning the auto postings have to be reversed every month and new ones created to allow the split of costs into the P&L.
Ideal solution: Allow Xero payroll to split NICS/TAX/Pension costs into ledgers by departments which will negate the need to reverse the auto journals and create manual ones.

Adding Correspondence To Tax Return
It would be great and more efficient if we could add correspondence to the tax returns, rather than have to send separately via myIR.

Xero Tax - Add a simple tax calculator
Tax calculator - Handi has a button you can press for a tax calculator, just enter the income and it shows the Tax, Medicare & offsets (low income & former low & middle income). Awesome feature that allows you to show a client quickly why their refunds are low. Also allows a quick cross check.

Practice Manager | New Client - Option to add Staff
We work in small teams and it would be great if we could get a "Staff" drop down added for the client set up. So we could know the partner on the account, the lead accountant/manager and the staff member that works on the file so we know who to approach for various issues :)

Change wording of Medicare Levy has it is a double negative. Change the wording to something like: how many days were you not covered by private health?

Hubdoc - US Date Format
Hubdoc date format recognition is set at a global level, meaning when it processes invoices for US date formats, it can get it very wrong (e.g. 01-09-23 is interpreted as 9th Jan 2023 when it should in fact be 1st Sep 2023).
This makes automating the process impossible and requires manual checking and adjustment of the date on all US date format documents before submitting to Xero. It can also lead to mistakes and significant additional time to rectify errors when reconciling.

Xero Tax - Accounting for Stock movement
Accounting for Opening and Closing Stock.
In the Trust tax return and probably others, at Item 5 in the business section there is a plus icon you can press to open for 'livestock and produce trading'. In there you can record opening and closing stock, purchases and sales. Currently this is only feeding into the primary production section of the return. I would love to see an option to allow the same information for non primary production businesses. So that the stock can be clearly recorded for a retail business, or a share trading business for some examples. I recently…2 votes -

Clock back the time without re-entering all information
Many times throughout the day I stopped the clock time in XPM and I start working on another job, then later I might go back and work on the initial work I was working on. It would be fantastic if we can clock back in the initial job without having to enter all the details such as the client, job and task again... it would also save time. highlight
I would like to suggest Xero to have a highlighter tool, this would be handy when viewing wide spread comparable reports.
Currently we are exporting to excel to be able to highlight figures/rows.
There are no certified browser add-ons for this tool, and once the page is refreshed it will be lost at the browser level.
It would be handy to keep the highlights even after the page/report is refreshed on the browser.

AU TAX - Capital Gain change of Discount percentage
When completing a tax return for foreign residents we needed to adjust the discount rate for the property that they had sold. Xero had no way for us to change the discount percentage so we said that we used the other method to not include discount and then added the discount we should be able to claim to the costs in the Capital Gain Worksheet. As per Xero Support this was the only solution. Can you please incorporate a way for us to change the discount rate of a CGT event?

Ramp credit card transactions should be excluded from 1099 reports but they are currently included.

Workpapers - Allow Document button to be used in Archived workpapers to see documents for that account
So annoying to open an archived workpaper pack, want to check a document that was attached to an account and you can't! Have to scroll down and find it amongst all of the attached documents from that whole workpaper. Nightmare!

Xero Tax (NZ) Part year returns IR3s
If the part year return has be ticked, a box should be added in the tax calculation for us to include the part year adjustment as xero does not calculate this

Workpapers - Integrate with the Xero trial balance
Integrate workpapers module into Xero with direct links to the Xero trial balance. Importing the trial balance is impractical and time wasting and the allocation of the account balances within workpapers is dependant on the report code allocations. You should have to option to view all the account balances and the net profit or loss from the trial balance when viewing workpapers to ensure all balance sheet accounst are included.

Fixed Asset Adjustments
Xero fixed assets need the ability to make adjustments to the costbase. Sometimes there are partial sales or additions to existing assets and cant do an adjustment to the asset, have to create entirely new asset or sell and redo new asset. This makes some calculations hard as the depreciation schedule doesnt show disposals correctly either.

Practice Manager | Jobs - Ability to update job Tax Return is associated
Ability to transfer tax return link to other jobs. we have created a tax return in the wrong job or want to transfer the return to another job. Would be great if the hot link can be disconnected and reconnected to a different job.
