  1. Currently, in the UK you can export an iXBRL file from Xero Tax but if you try to import that file into other tax software it is not compatible and creates an error message in the other software.
    This is an issue at my firm as the Tax department insists on using Alphatax for all CT Returns and this has meant that we cannot use Xero Tax to prepare statutory year-end accounts as we have to prepare the iXBRL tagging file in other software that is compatible with Alphatax.

    Thanks for your input on this one, Louisa. Xero Tax now offers the option for our partners to continue utilising the automation and efficiencies of our accounts production tool for FRS 105 and FRS 102 1A and then export the iXRBL file into your existing Corporation Tax software, such as AlphaTax, to file the CT600. If that's the workflow for you, you'll notice some cool tweaks to the process such as the ability to manually adjust the tax provision in the accounts from the dashboard before filing them with Companies House. After creating a new filing you'll see the option on our 'Filing Options' screen where you can elect to prepare the CT600 in Xero or file it externally.

  2. We have a number of clients who have a preferred Name other than their legal name. Whilst we can only put in their legal name (for the preparation of their returns) it would help our staff and the rest of the team to be able to put in their 'PREFERRED NAME' so that it showed up in the main contact area in XPM so that they would know to call the client by their preferred name rather than their legal name. A lot of clients get upset if you dont call them by their preferred name.

    Hi everyone, back with an update 🙂 As some may have seen on our Blog on 8th Nov we introduced a new field for individual and sole trader client types - Display name!
    This is an open entry field, and enables you to enter your preferred client name that’s shown when searching for clients in XPM and HQ.
    The Display name will become mandatory for individual client types with the First and Last Name fields becoming optional.

    From this date, for individual and sole trader client types;
    Existing - When you edit an existing individual client type you’ll be able to change Display name to what you prefer without touching First and Last names.
    New - When adding a new individual client type, you’ll have full control to enter the client Display name and First and Last name.

    These changes are all steps toward providing a single source of truth…

  3. Currently when users take photos of receipts on the app they do not have the ability to add a note. This would be great so that the admin person coding the receipt can receive some additional detail regarding the purchase.

    Hey community - just a quick note to let everyone know this is now live 🎉

    Last week we rolled out an update to Hubdoc for all users, that allows you to add notes to uploaded documents!

  4. Having the ability to query all of the data in the background. It's frustrating that you can't see certain fields (eg. invoice number) on the account transaction report so are forced to use the Receivable invoice detail or summary report instead and yet this report doesn't allow you to see all of the fields available in the Account transactions report. I appreciated that not every transaction will have an invoice/bill number so just so "-" or blank when it doesn't apply. Doing this will have a huge impact on the ability to actually use the data available in a client…

  5. Ability to have one contact record link to multiple client records like a true CRM system would.

    Example: bookkeeper for a client is stored as a contact and may act for many other clients. Currently relationships only exist between 'clients'.

    Hi everyone, we're excited to let you know that you can now add a contact to more than one client🙂 -

    See our instructions on how to reuse contacts in Xero Practice Manager, on Xero Central. 

    One point to note is that currently, we don't recommend editing or deleting an XPM contact shared between multiple clients using an external app.

    This is our first step towards empowering you to have a more efficient contact list management and maintenance. We’ll continue to enhance the contacts functionality in XPM and later this year(2023) we plan to release an update to help tidy up your contacts in bulk. 

  6. stop flicking us back to the 'A' names once we have finished in a clients file.. go back to where it was as it takes time to scroll through all and keep clicking 'show more or load more'

    Hi all, 

    We've made changes to the client list - you can now sort the client list using all the columns. You can merge or add clients to groups from the list page, and choose how many clients you would like to view per page. 

    Pleased to say that this specific idea is now released 🎉 Whether you've reloaded the page or navigated to another page and returned, you can expect that the previous page, filter or search is preserved.

  7. Hubdoc doesn't recognise duplicate document uploads, this is an important feature that is common in all other document handling software I have used in the past. Please add this feature to enable us to utilise the auto publish feature with peace of mind that we won't end up with many duplicate supplier invoices in our accounts.

    We can now happily say this has since been released and you can start enjoying the benefits.

    You’ll notice that duplicate detection picks up on any documents that have been uploaded more than once. If a document has the same supplier, date and amount as a document already uploaded, Hubdoc will automatically highlight the duplicate and let you know that a dupe has been detected. You can then either move the dupe to the trash, or mark it as not a duplicate if it’s been uploaded again for good reason.

    We’ve made some updates to the ITR forms, and you’ll now see a section labelled ‘Your Banking Information’ with the customer’s BSB and Account Number.

    Because of this change, we’ll be shifting this idea to delivered 😄

    We recently released the ability to create packing slips when printing with new invoicing. Check out our support article for more info!.

    Though this might not meet the exact criteria of every business, but it meets the core needs of customers that need a simple solution. If you're finding this doesn't work for you, check out our app store to see if there's any third parties that could help you out instead.

    Thanks for your support here, everyone. With Hubdoc we've just introduced a way for you to save configurations for documents with multiple lines, to help you create transactions in Xero faster and save you time from entering data.

    Now, when you publish documents with multiple line items into Xero you'll see a button to copy item details you entered last time - 'Add last items'.

  15. The Document Packs needs a delete and resend function.

    The delete function is necessary when client cannot open a document sitting in their Xero portal. The client can't delete it. We can't delete it. If we could jump into Document Packs and delete and/or resend, just like we do in Xero Tax, it would save a lot of time and frustration for both accountant and client.

    The resend function is also necessary when a client doesn't receive the email asking them to sign a document. The work around whereby we have to phone the client and walk them through logging…

    Understand that previously, determining the estimated tax payable by the trustee of a deceased estate involved a bit of manual calculation work. I’m happy to confirm that this can now be calculated from within Xero Tax.

  17. Ability to make Hubdoc can run normally when there are more than 1,000 contacts in Xero.

    Purpose: It will improve the workflow of the user when they’re using Hubdoc, and they don’t have to merge/delete the contact in Xero.

    Hello community, we're pleased to let you know that our Hubdoc team has implement a fix that was causing slowness for those users with large Xero Contact lists, especially for those of you who have more than 1,000 contacts. So you'll notice a big improvement in Hubdoc speed now.
