Practice Manager | Client - Copy a client (including all contacts)
To be able to duplicate a contact, therefore not having to retype in the address, phone number and all other details. You would just need to rename the client and change the IRD number etc before saving. This would be a huge time saver.
Thanks for starting the idea here, Renee.
Just to clarify, when you say ‘duplicate a contact’ would this be; the ability to duplicate an entire client (including all its contacts), to duplicate a contact within an existing client, or duplicate a contact from one client to another?
If the last, we have a similar idea over here that I can join you in with. 🙂

Duplicating an entire client would be such a time saver, it's extremely annoying to create a new client group in XPM and have to enter information over and over again when its all the same. APS has a function where you could create a card with the address, phone numbers, basic information and ten copy the card as many times as needed to save time on preparing the group which I used religiously. Not we manually have to slog through six clients.

Hi Kelly
Yes I am currently using the ability to use a duplicate contact but it would be also very useful to be able to copy the entire client so if you have a company, individuals and a Trust all with the same details except for the IRD numbers it would be good to be able to click on a button "Copy".

Absolutely! So many clients share the same exact details - seems a bit unnecessary to have to type the exact same thing multiple times when adding a group of clients. Not to mention the margin for error...

This is essential to not only save time, but to save typographical errors!

This request is the ability to duplicate an entire client.
It would create a NewCo that had the same addresses, contacts, group membership, staff assignments, etc.... Effectively everything except the link to a Xero file.
The use case is setting up corporate groups, where we might be creating 30 clients, all with the same address. Right now we're typing out everything again and again and again. It's rather painful.
An alternative workflow would be to allow for bulk client changes. ex: Allow a user to select multiple clients and then change the address for all of them. This route would make it easier to change to existing clients, and if a new group arrived the clients could be created with just the name and then everything else could be bulk changed.
