  1. Workpapers Practice Staff Management is not integrated with XPM/HQ. User access should be manageable the XPM so that all Xero owned products Practice Staff access can be managed in one area. This would allow practices to control their staff in one place, rather than having to add and remove staff separately in the Workpapers App.

    Hi Rebecca, thanks for this great idea about centralising user management for Workpapers.

    We understand that having to manage staff access separately in Workpapers instead of in one central place like XPM or Xero HQ creates extra administrative work. Your suggestion to integrate Workpapers user management so you can control all practice staff access from a single location makes perfect sense.

  2. Clients using online software "Housecall Pro" are forced to stay with QBO due to its native integration with the software. Xero can adapt using Zapier, but who really wants to do that!

    Hi Marci, though we appreciate you sharing on Product Ideas I want to be open that we don't generally develop integrations with other applications ourselves. We have a great Developer Ecosystem Centre where interested parties can come to learn how to build an integration with Xero, and I'd recommend sharing with Housecall Pro to see if they would look to develop.

  3. To be able to view a list of documents that have "not" been published to Google Drive or DropBox. With the ability to filter and bulk publish would be a really useful feature to have

  4. When inputting R&D figures for a period of account longer than 12 months (i.e. where 2x corporation tax returns are needed), we are unable to put specific R&D expenditures in a specific corporation tax periods. This is an issue with overseas workers where the periods are pre and post 1 April 2024, and where expenditure is only eligible in one of the periods. As currently, the expenditure is pro-rated, this means that non-qualifying expenditure is being brought into one of the periods.

  5. It would be good if we could update client info changes such as change of address or bank account changes directly in Xero that would then update on the ATO Portal. Having used this in another accounting package, it is an extremely efficient process that make sure the client info is updated at both sites. Making these changes directly through the ATO portal gives no (or very little) audit trail.

    Hi Jo, thanks for sharing this great idea for improving practice efficiency. We understand how valuable a better audit trail and a more streamlined process would be for keeping client details up-to-date.

    We've reviewed your suggestion to have client information updated in XPM, such as addresses or bank details, sync directly with the ATO Portal. This idea is now ready to gain support from other community members.

  6. Currently, Xero only provides a generic “Additional Disclosure” box when preparing accounts in Xero Tax. However, there are many cases where specific disclosures are required, such as:

    • Guarantees and Other Financial Commitments

    • Going Concern

    It would be highly beneficial to have the ability to either:

    Select from a list of standard disclosure titles, or

    Create a new custom disclosure title, which is displayed in bold in the final report—making the disclosures clearer, more compliant, and professionally formatted.

    Benefits:
    Improves compliance with reporting requirements.

    Enhances the presentation and clarity of financial statements.

  7. AUTOMATIC SUBMISSION OF A RETURN WITH THE "DEFERRAL" DATE ALLOCATED

    It is a critical feature on a system we transition from to XERO tax, to be able to allocate to a finalized return a deferred date for the submission. On such and such date, all returns with that date and tag then come up, and with a touch of a single button all go to the ATO at the same time. The deferral function is critical where the client's return has a large tax bill, for example, and the client has other ways of utilizing the funds and keeping them…

  8. Currently you cannot edit the DOB in a client record in XPM for individual clients you can only edit if you export the database and re import it. For GDPR reasons it is important that we can delete DOB when a client leaves the practice. Please make this field so it can be deleted if required

  9. It would be very handy to be able to create a formula in a custom report that could reference a group/custom row that sits within a closed group as sometimes you need these rows in order to drive the formula but they dont add any helpful information to the final report.

  10. Provide an option under the client group to bill wip that's under multiple clients in the group with one invoice.

    At the moment it appears this can only be done under Invoices in the Business menu. Under the client group itself, while an invoice can be created for multiple jobs for one client, you can't create a single invoice to bill wip that's under multiple clients in the group.

    Hi everyone, while we appreciate hearing how we could make processes more efficient for our customers using Xero, this is not an idea we would be able to take action on.

    Inland Revenue do not currently allow correspondence to be sent with a tax return via the Gateway services. This may be feedback that you could share with your IR Account Manager. Thanks

  13. When a tax return is created from a job you need to manually link this to the job once the tax obligation is created. It would be good if this automatically linked to the job like AU and NZ

  16. We 'import from xero' the data to preopolute the tax return. However, the P&L and Balance Sheet items appear in the tax return as a worksheet when printed. It would be great if this was excluded, but retained the other worksheets.

  17. Would be great to create a report in XPM that shows client bank details so we can identify clients that are missing bank details and need to be followed up. This would also avoid the issue with tax returns being lodged with no bank details recorded.

  20. Please add ability to reorder accounts (lines) on a workpaper in Xero Workpaper. This is painful both for automatically populating workpapers (which go in the impractical alphabetical order) and custom workpapers (where every new line is added at the bottom...).
