  2. It would be good if Hubdoc created a short cut key (e.g CTRL + D) which allowed you to enter in a timestamp. This would be really helpful in the notes section when multiple people are leaving notes on a document

  3. The ability to view/ create Reoccurring jobs within the individual Client. at the moment its a very different setup to create Reoccurring jobs.
    Additionally the ability to convert a single job to a reoccurring job. Will make creating jobs much easier.

    Hi Claire, thanks for your interest in this idea. Although we haven't enabled the option to exclude a balance sheet from sole trader accounts within Xero HQ we wanted to share this very exciting update with you. We recently released a direct import of the P&L from Xero onto the self-employment worksheet within Personal Tax, without the need to map the account codes and generate a set of sole trader accounts.

    Previously we only supported an import from Sole Trader Accounts to Personal Tax which for some of our partners involved an extra step, particularly for smaller clients who typically only receive Income & Expenditure accounts. We hope by adding this functionality that you will be able to maximise the more flexible reporting capabilities within Xero to produce accounts for sole traders.   5. Currently there are several system notifications in Xero Workpapers however there is not one for when the partner has approved the workpaper pack. This should then send a notification back to the preparer/manager to let them know the job is right to be finalised.

IRD has $ for 3 provisional tax payment dates, however the Tax Payments listing only shows the next provisional tax payment due and misses the 2nd and 3rd ones until the date of each provisional tax payment has passed. It would be more accurate to have all tax payments showing on their due date regardless of the date of viewing.

  7. The invoices provided in our Hubdoc account do not contain all accounts for all clients on our console as some are included with a Xero subscription and/or comped. Would it be possible to have them included on the invoice at a $0 cost?

  8. It would be useful to be able to email tax returns direct from XERO tax. Returns sent by XERO sign can only be viewed by a client in their entirity prior to signing if they have an ADOBE account.

  9. It would be a great help if we could update status for a job as and when the timesheet is done.
    At the moment we go to each job and update the status at the end of the day. In my opinion this would save lot my time hovering around.
    I have attached a screenshot in pdf to better explain.

  10. The format of the 2023 IR 3 return does not appear to allow for a nil amount of FIF income. When nil is entered (which will be the case when the CV method produces loss), an error arises. The disclosure of FIF income (even if nil) may be important for statute barring purposes and will also avoid subsequent queries from IR (once exchange on information between countries lands on IR desks) on why a taxpayer may not disclosed offshore dividend income (where those dividends arose from FIF investments).   11. A way to post partially dormant accounts when moving from trading to dormant within a tax year. Currently in Xero Tax, you'd have to choose between the options 'Active throughout part of the period for corporation tax purposes' where you can only choose when the company started trading. The other option you could select is 'Dormant throughout the period for corporation tax purposes' and then choose the option 'Company has traded in previous period, tax return is required'.

  12. We would like to be able to run a listing of physical payments made to IRD by clients over a date range that shows the client name, IRD number, payment date recorded by IRD, tax type and the tax period/year that it was applied to.

    This would enable us to easily identify when clients pay tax to the wrong period.

  14. Currently, Xero only lets us archive the returns that are already filed (or are in the filed status).

    There are scenarios, when the clients come in to do the tax return- we need more information and client does not respond. We do have an option of suspending the returns- however, these returns will still be left in draft making the draft tax returns list unnecessarily longer.

  16. HQ Client Groups - Default group to display on login rather than having to select each time. My groups include simple things like Every Day clients, and Annual clients. I want my everyday clients to be all I see when I login and I can go searching for the others if needs be. Without this default group function I've got a list twice as long as needs be for 95% of the year.

    The old client list allowed for a default group, why can't the new one? These improvements are supposed to be about reducing the number of clicks required…

  19. The current livestock schedule in trust tax return (and probably others) is insufficient.

    We calculate livestock on Market Value in the Financials and inset these figures into the Tax Return, then use the Reconciliation area to bring it back to Average Cost.

    This worked perfectly fine in MYOB Tax, as we could overwrite the average cost calculation in the livestock trading schedule. However in Xero Tax we can't overwrite the closing stock value.
