XPM - Insert a merge field/placeholder into Task description
It would be helpful to be able to insert a merge field such as 'Tax Year' into the description of a task. Handy when it comes to preparation of the invoice as not all returns are for the current year.

NZ Tax - IR3B Business Schedule with Fixed Asset Schedule
Given Xero has an IR3 Rental Schedule form and Home Office Work Papers why does the business schedule workpaper only have line by line capability and not a business schedule equivalent to IR's IR3B business schedule? Why is this helpful, it means we have the ability to put in front of the client not only the income and expenses relating to their small enterprise (i.e. usually don't warrant an accounting product) and provides traceability for fixed assets and depreciation claimed.

AU TAX - Send tax returns to clients directly through Xero Tax
It would be useful to be able to email tax returns direct from XERO tax. Returns sent by XERO sign can only be viewed by a client in their entirity prior to signing if they have an ADOBE account.

AU Tax - Rental Schedule Apportionment
Currently the apportionment percentage for the rental is calculated for all income and expenses. However, in reality this is not always the situation. Sage has the ability to change the apportionment of each expense individually as well which is very useful, time-saving and error reducing.

Practice Manager | Clients - Date of death field for client details
Date of death field to add in to client details would be helpful
254 votesHi team, we appreciate your engagement and letting us know how a field for adding a clients date of death would help you when working with Xero. We understand having this field would save time hunting around for info when you're preparing tax returns and other client work, and we want you to know this work is being prioritised for development with our product teams.
As soon as there's more progress we'll share an update on this, with you all here.

Xero Tax(AU) - Tab for Returned
Would we be able to have a tab in Xero Tax between 'To Sign' and 'To File' - called 'Returned' - so that any ITR or AS that has been e-signed is moved across into that tab?

Workpapers for Individual Tax Returns
Workpapers for Individual Tax Returns - I'm new to workpapers and am still figuring it out. But they seem to be very ledger orientated. It would be good to have workpapers for Individual Tax Returns for entities that don't have a Xero datafile. For example - say salary and wage return. Linked to the tax return to show deductions and income ie - you have that union receipt, the basis you've calculated that work from home deduction, you have that buy/sell statement for the shares sold.

Rules and the Reconciliation Screen
On the reconciliation screen in the bank account, if a transaction is being picked up by a rule, could we see both which rule it is being picked up by as well as the name, account, description, and tax details that the rule is using?
8 votesThanks for the idea, Garrett. This isn't in any plans at the moment, but we'll keep an eye on it as the team are thinking about this in the wider context of the bank reconciliation process.
In the meantime a workaround could be to include those details in the title of your bank rule. For example Supplier Name - Motor (20% VAT)

XPM - Add a new Client Information link
Requesting a feature that auto-populates client info in XPM via a secure link that we can send to the client, allowing admin team approval, enhancing privacy for sensitive data like TFNs, and reducing form completion errors

NZ Tax - Audit check to check IRD number
When completing a tax return in XPM, have the audit check feature check the IRD number for hyphens so it's in the correct format. If the number is entered with spaces instead of a hyphens, the audit check lets it pass, and throws an error when submitting.
2 votesHi Franjo, currently an IRD Number validity check is done in Xero Practice Manager tax. Being open we don't have any plans of changing the check that is in place, however we do find most issues are caused when a IRD number is copy and pasted in to Xero and includes lead or trailing spaces which can throw an error.
We'd recommend typing this in to avoid issues.

Xero HQ | Permissions - Bulk change staff permissions
It would be great if there was an option to change staff permissions in bulk. So if there was a practice employee for example who now needed Payroll Admin access for 20 clients, it could be done in a few clicks as opposed to changing it for each of those 20 clients.

User access - Administrators HQ access to client files
We are getting an increasing amount of (sometimes angry) pushback from clients where when we add Administrators to our HQ account, they are automatically given full permissions over any linked client Xero files, as well as all our ledger files. We are a large firm with over 15 Administrators.
Please give us the ability to CHOOSE, if we want to add all administrators to all files.
OR
Create an administrator role that doesnt need to add them as a USER to each client file.Imagine you have a Xero file for your own personal business, and suddenly notice 13 people…

Workpapers - Ability to set period that workpaper is run across
Workpapers to run for periods (not just years) and for periods ending not on a month end.
The majority of my clients have a year end with 5 April. At the moment i would only be able to run the work papers to 31 March. I also have other clients with year end dates throughout the year.
In addition to this, I can only run the workpapers for a full year. What happens if a business ceases. Often we need to run a set of accounts, and therefore workpapers, for a shorter/longer period.

Report Templates - Allow Xero blue client access to Report Templates in organisation
Client access to Report Templates
In Xero HQ as a partner we have the ability to create report packages however it is only for use within our practice, it would be really helpful if we had the option to share these with our clients.86 votes -
Xero tax (AU) - Roll forward Tax Returns
Tax returns be rolled forward annually to assist with workflow tracking and planning.
37 votesHey team, we appreciate the feedback we've received and the support this idea has.
Your idea is definitely on our product teams radar. Although there are no immediate plans to share right now, we will be sure to update you of any change that'd help, here. Thanks

Reports - Option to build Xero blue reports into Xero HQ
Report Building - Ability to choose any report from Xero Blue to add to the reports. Especially payroll reports.
Ideally, I would like to be able to build a set of management reports that include things such as accrued annual leave and long service leave. Annual days to pay on AR, average days to pay per client and other KPI type measurements. Is there away to build out own templates that can go into payroll and other areas of Xero to create these

Reports - Summary breakdown on VAT report
I would like to see on the front sheet of the VAT report a Summary break-down by VAT code showing Total, Net and VAT by each VAT category.
Is this something you are currently working on and if so when would it be available to us.5 votes
