  1. One of my clients found it very confusing when trying to view & sign a document within Xero sign, as she said there was not an option to view the documents before signing...

    She only saw the option to "Click to Sign" - I advised her she could click this option & would then be able to view the documents before signing, but she was very upset that this option was described as "Click to Sign" & suggested that it should be changed to "Click to Review & Sign" instead.

  2. Would love the ability to efficiently reassign clients in bulk within XPM, using tickboxes (like in the jobs list) to select the relevant clients and reassign to a new accountant. The import/export feature is clunky and often errors on import. A quick and easy way to complete this function would improve client experience when a new accountant joins the firm.

  3. Revert to standard invoicing until the problems are sorted out. Each entry has a 5 second delay before it is entered. Even this message is doing this. It is currently almost impossible to work with as a bookkeeper. It jumps aaround all over the screen and with the delays one then has to go back and find the field. It is not my computer. Other screens are not a problem. I read somewhere there are going to be changes to payroll. Please test the changes before this happens with this also.

    Hi Pauline, I'm sorry to hear the slowness you're experiencing. I want to be transparent that we will not be bringing back classic invoicing. However, I'd highly recommend raising a case with our team of specialists at Xero Support who can investigate what may be causing this for you.

    As you've also mentioned experiencing slowness when engaging on product ideas here, while you wait for supports response I'd recommend starting with the troubleshooting steps in our article here.

  4. Tax credits of Archived clients show up in reports. It would be great to remove tax credits from them.

It would be good if any report you can already run in Xero could be added to a report template - this would include GST reports (activity statement and GST reconciliation), payroll reports etc. That way instead of having to manually extract each of these reports for each client we can just do it in bulk through one report template.

  6. Xero HQ should include a feature called ‘Chart of Report Codes,’ functioning similarly to the Chart of Accounts in Go Xero. This feature would allow Advisors to define and customise Report Codes themseves, rather than relying on Xero's predefined Report Codes, as they possess a deeper understanding of their clients' accounts than Xero. Consequently, Advisors could generate diverse Management Report Pack templates based on different sets of Report Codes configurations to accommodate diverse industries.

  7. Currently hubdoc suggests that a document is a Credit Note and to check before proceeding. Can this be the same when a document has Statement written on it. I find that statements are often processed as invoices causing duplicate payments within Xero

    Good to hear that you find the Credit Note warning useful, Gayle. We don't have any immediate plans for adding the same for statements but we'll get a feel for the interest from your idea here.

  9. It would be good if you could scroll up past 2015 when adding a date on the relationships tab. Rather than having to press it, then reopen it to open up the next bit.

  11. Extend the information in Xero HQ to include full client data.
    Information that would be good to see on each client information schedule would be;

    a. VAT registration date, this is required for security with HRMC so needs to be in one place when contacting them.
    b. VAT quarters (We do have clients that don’t use xero and this information is important)
    c. PAYE registration details (Not all clients use Xero payroll and equally flicking between various clients bookkeeping systems when on the phone to HMRC is a bit irritating!)
    d. UTR details for companies
    e. Tax district for Both…

  12. Create the ability to update time entries for draft bills.
    We often have a manager draft the bill and between the bill being created and it being approved by a director, there is additional time added to the job. If there was an option to refresh the bill to include all time before approval, rather than having to delete the bill and start again, that would be amazing!

  13. Joint bank accounts need to be listed in the financial institution details of both parties in XPM. It would be great to have them linked so only one client needs to be updated and the changes flow to the other client, and into the tax returns for both

  15. When entering time or selecting a job on a bill for example, it would be more efficient to be able to search the drop down menu of clients, rather than having to enter the first letter then scroll (especially the 'M's where there are so many Mr, Mrs, Ms and Miss clients!)

  17. Why can’t we simplify the process of submitting and reconciling remittances from suppliers using a "receive money transaction" in Xero? Currently, when we receive a remittance through Hubdoc, we must manually change it to 'receipt' before submitting it. This creates an invoice draft in Xero, which we end up deleting as it serves no purpose, leaving the remittance stuck in Hubdoc. This process is inefficient and doesn’t make sense. We want to phase out Hubdoc, but it's currently the only place where we can store remittances. Ideally, Hubdoc should communicate directly with Xero, identifying the file as a remittance for…

    Thanks for sharing your idea here, Kelly. We don't have any plans for adding the ability to receipt remittances from Hubdoc to Xero in the short term, but we'll gauge the interest from the community in this, here.

  18. The User access for Workpapers is very poor. I find that I need to give the Staff high access levels in order to allow them to create and complete workpapers. Rather than just having a very basic Standard and Admin level, the names and levels of access should reflect more the sort of work that staff will be involved in.     Hi Rebecca, thank you for this valuable feedback on user access in Workpapers.

    We can certainly see your point. The current 'Standard' and 'Admin' levels can be too broad, often requiring you to give staff higher access than necessary just to perform routine tasks like setting up a new workpaper file.

    Your suggestion to introduce more refined user roles that better reflect the actual work your staff are involved in is a great solution to improve both workflow and security.

  19. Workpapers Practice Staff Management is not integrated with XPM/HQ. User access should be manageable the XPM so that all Xero owned products Practice Staff access can be managed in one area. This would allow practices to control their staff in one place, rather than having to add and remove staff separately in the Workpapers App.

  20. Clients using online software "Housecall Pro" are forced to stay with QBO due to its native integration with the software. Xero can adapt using Zapier, but who really wants to do that!

    Hi Marci, though we appreciate you sharing on Product Ideas I want to be open that we don't generally develop integrations with other applications ourselves. We have a great Developer Ecosystem Centre where interested parties can come to learn how to build an integration with Xero, and I'd recommend sharing with Housecall Pro to see if they would look to develop.
