Derive the Home page accounting basis from the business setup setting cash or Accrual.
Please derive the Home page Profit and Loss accounting basis from the business setup setting i.e. cash or Accrual.
This issue has been raised before and closed by a naive XERO person with no understanding of how a USER thikns or expects to use the system.
The request by the user is not "existing functionality" as stated by the incorrect Xero staff. Being instructed to leave the homepage, go the the Dashboard (some of us dont need to use those), changing a setting in a Dashboard widget and then come back to the Homepage is not a helpful instruction.
FYI - the current link on how to change this setting from the elip[sis in the P&L widget on the Homepage is INCORRECT as it leads to instructions and menu options that do not exist.
USERS need to be able to default our DASHBOARD to the accounting basis that is the in the business settings i.e. cash or accrual. We also NEED the flexibility to toggle between the two options on the HOMEPAGE when it suits us...because it is the USERS natural expectations to be able to manage what they see in the same place they see it. If you wont allow us to toggle, at least default it to the business settings as the most logical source of truth.
Please do not close out issues that are NOT RESOLVED. Please allow users to comment on issues that Xero staff consider closed as we may have useful insight on the same request that helps Xero understand. Closing prematurely cause users to feel ignored and we need to raise duplicate issues (like this) to correct the naive response of the Xero staff who do understand how USERS behave or think let alone, in this instance, demonstrate any care for the User needs.
