New Workpapers - Include All Files not just those shared by Master Admin
We encountered a problem with New Xero WP wherein Xero Account file wasn't able to upload Xero file of client because it was not shared by Master Admin user of our practice. Wherein this case will not always be applicable because we are holding number of client and we cannot share all access to Master Admin. So we client is just sharing access to Accountant managing his file and tax return. Will it be possible to include all Xero Accounts under Xero HQ or XPM instead of depending on Master Admin access?
10 votesThanks for your feedback here, Ruchel. This is something we'll start to gather wider interest in and I'll share if there are any updates planned.

Workpapers - Ability to add our own status to workpapers
Instead of the generic status options, could we customise for our own firms. e.g. 'client queries'; 'draft with client' etc
3 votesThanks for sharing here, Julie. We're keen to get a wider sense of interest from users that'd also like to add their own statuses and what these statuses may be.
If there is any progress toward this, I'll let you know here.

New Workpapers - Supporting balance variance shown as $ value instead of a percentage
I don't see the need for the percentage variance for the supporting balance. Changing the supporting balance variance to a $ value makes more sense. It could then be used to assist with year end alignment journals.
4 votesThanks for raising the idea here, Bianca. We're continuing to develop and enhance new Workpapers so I'll be sure to let you know here if there are any plans made to enable showing the variance as an amount rather than %.

Workpapers - Income Tax Rec for Trusts
The income tax work paper is blank for trust entities. While trusts generally don't directly pay income tax (this will change with the new trust tax rules), we still need to reconcile the difference between accounting income and taxable income. A blank workpaper doesn't help.
2 votesThanks for your feedback here, Adam. This is something our product team will consider as they continue to develop out the Workpapers experience.
In the meantime, make sure to share the idea with other colleagues that'd like to see this too, so they can add their vote. 🙂

Attach documents to workpapers and or checklists
We already have firm templates and it would be great if they could be added to workpapers or more specifically - added to checklist items.
3 votesAppreciate you sharing here, Bianca. At present it's possible to attach documents to Workpaper packs, Workpapers and Accounts, however not checklists.
We'll start to get an understanding of the support from the community in this here, and I'll share if there are any updates planned.

Workpapers - Import multiple spreadsheets to a workpaper section
We have the following queries for NZ workpapers:
Journals posted from within the workpapers don't appear to update when we push refresh just when we put the browser refresh.
The income tax workpaper is working well now.
Will you be preparing a GST reconciliation workpaper similar to Classic Workpapers? We currently prepare the proof in Classic Workpapers and upload a copy to beta workpapers.
Are we correct to understand only one spreadsheet can be uploaded to each workpaper section. Sometimes there are several account balances that require separate proofs so it would be helpful if several spreadsheets could be uploaded.2 votesAppreciate your feedback, Susan. With quite a few points raised in your post I'd recommend raising a case with our specialists at Xero Support who'll be able to confirm, and look into anything that may not be working as expected.
Just to highlight, a journal will need to be posted in order for it to appear.
We're planning to release a new GST Reconciliation worksheet to NZ practices within new Workpapers over the coming months and I've split your idea here off so we can keep you updated on this.
For your post here, I've updated the title to reflect the last point you've shared on importing multiple spreadsheets to a workpapers section and we'll start to gauge interest from others in this and share if there are any updates.

Workpapers - Enable left and right keyboard arrows for horizontal scrolling
Not sure if it is just me, but to scroll across the screen in workpapers I need to first scroll all the way down, to the bottom scroll bar, then go across, then scroll back up. Doing that you also lose the column that says the account name, so need to remember its number. The left and right arrows on the keyboard don't scroll. Very ineficient both for reviewing and adding documents
1 voteThanks for sharing this feedback, Gillian. Having left and right arrow key navigation across wide Workpapers grids could make it easier to move between columns while keeping the account name visible.
For now, you can use Shift + mouse scroll or horizontal trackpad gestures to move across the table.
I’ve updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community feedback. If direct keyboard scrolling would improve your workflow, add your vote and let us know.

Workpapers - Ability to attach Annual Payroll Summary report from an organisation
When attaching Blue Xero reports, it would be good to be able to attach the Annual Payroll Summary
1 voteGood to know the reports you'd find useful when attaching in Workpapers, Tammie.
Our product teams are keeping a close watch on the feedback here. Make sure you share your idea with other colleagues that'd find this useful too. I'll share if there are any updates.

New Workpapers - Ability to add Annbual Employee Summary report from blue Xero
Within the ability to add reports from Xero Blue, can we please include Payroll reports, specifically the Annual Employee Summary
1 voteHi Tammie, just re-reviewing your idea here I can see you've started this within the Workpapers forum and looking for the ability to attach the Annual Employee Summary report from within blue Xero to a workpaper.
We'll get a wider feel of interest for this through your idea here.

Workpapers - Mark accounts as completed from All workpapers screen
Lol. I just noticed that the checkbox in a Workpaper says Mark Accounts as Completed.
How unintuitive is that?
On the All Workpapers screen the checkbox is for selecting (and performing functions). This makes sense, even if it is ridiculous the million steps you need to take to deactivate a workpaper.
Why would you have the icon exactly the same but have the behaviour completely different?
Why wouldn't you put a heading above the checkbox to explain what it is for? (If it's for marking the account as completed)
Why can't we see that the accounts in that workpaper are…
7 votesReally good to get this sort of feedback in terms of how different actions are represented and shown in the new Workpapers experience.
This has been shared back with the team and we'll update here if we make plans to change where this action is taken or how it's shown.
