This is essential to our business. It will determine if we can stay with Xero or need to move to other software

It is also useful to enable merging to a larger Word document, for example if I want to develop a quote that includes photographs and floor plans specific to a job. At the moment the only option is to print as a PDF, take a screenshot of the PDF, and copy that into the Word quote.

It is a must to have this feature, as we had to create another company to give user only access to certain funcions. Xero user access control does not allow us to control access to the level we need

We wanted to make the switch from Quickbooks but this is really holding us back. At the moment we are running both systems so we can decide if its worth manually creating hundreds of quotes so that we need to carry forward. All of our work is custom and each job is different. Sometimes jobs are planned for a year + before approved so we really need this data

This is super important!! without this function and whilst moving from another accounting software to Xero means the work to input every previous quotation for a company like mine would take weeks.

For clients converted from another accounting software package, with cloud convert for instance in South Africa, quotes doesn't get converted too.
So it is critical to be able to import quotes as the client needs it for ongoing business.

Having the ability and freedom to produce quotes in excel utilising the formulae possibilities saves us time and gives flexibilities in our quote production, allowing us to set up item cards, track margin, amend product mark up etc - then once the quote is complete to then upload the end result to Xero would again be very efficient and allow the quotes to be tracked through Xero using its great features too.

Having forward visibility/forecasting of sales (through approved quotes) is vital

Just moved from another system and very disappointed to learn that we cant import our old quotes onto Xero, we have imported all sales and purchase information so why not quotes? we rely on quote history so this is critical to us.

As we convert quotes to invoices - this would save our company hours of data entry each month! Please consider Xero! :)

Click on Accounting/Reports
Scroll down to Payables and Receivables and select the Receivable Invoice Detail report
On the left hand side of the screen there is a menu or it may be hidden in which case click on >
The report "All Quotes Detail" is listed further down.
The report should appear and you can now select your date range. Then set the "Group by" to "Contact" and Update.
This should list all your quotes by Customer. Then export to csv.
Hope this helps.Credit to Valerie

Really need this feature. I switched to xero from another software to make accounting easy, but the fact I can’t export quotes easily especially from my phone since I use it more than my laptop is the biggest let down. It’s needed especially if you want to reply directly to a customer by email or use a job platform like smata I need to upload a pdf directly through smatas website. Feels like a mission.

Using SharePoint in the business. I can load a csv file to SharePoint from the excel quoting system easily and get notifications when one arrives in sharepoint. I can upload a quote to xero but only as an invoice not as a quote. huh?
A work around is to upload the csv as an invoice. save as quote in xero then delete original uploaded invoice.
I want to be able to upload the csv as a quote directly and not have to go the invoice route -

Thanks Louw and Valerie,
That's helpful and goes some way to meet our needs, but we also use the Quote Summary field to hold some important free-form text information and that doesn't seem to be available as a column on the report

The ability to export a single quote to Excel or Word would be very helpful so that I can use the data to track the delivery of the service quoted.

Export a Quote to Excel.
Some documents (like Bills) in Xero you can simply highlight the text on the screen and copy and paste to excel. Sadly this is not the case with Quotes. Especially on quotes that have many line items it would be great to be able to pull it into Excel to check things and make notes and sort columns. -

Hi David, See my post below (20 Oct) re: running reports on Quotes. It is possible to get this information out of Xero into a spreadsheet.
