I have the invoice reminders pdf link turned off in my settings. And yet a link is still provided on reminder emails - this goes nowhere and my clients are irritated at links that don't work. Actually the link shouldn't even be there!!! You really need to fix this function asap. I reported this error over 2 years ago and you still haven't fixed it. Attachments are better and links are obviously not working for a lot of people.

It’s very important for us because the online link doesn’t include all the details shown in the PDF. Many of our customers require the PO and other reference details, and some use OCR readers to extract information directly from the PDF. Otherwise, they often come back to us requesting the original invoice again, which has become quite a pain point for our accounts team.

Without this feature it creates a very manual process as our invoices are actually created in another system so if pdfs are not sent on the reminders than we have to manually resend the pdf invoice.

I can't understand why this isn't an option - it needs to be added ASAP. I'm in the same boat as Katie Jenkins, where we use Synergist and need the original PDF attached to reminders.

09/2025: Please put this option into place asap. I cannot think of a business downside to having this option. As previously mentioned, from other users, there are many customers that need the PDF, not a link. And the customers end up contacting us a second time to get the PDF anyway. This is not a very efficient use of our time.

I think that with all that is going on with emails and fraudulent activity it is essential for the PDF attachment to be included.

This is also critical for our organisation as we use the synergist integration and send the synergist invoice PDF with the original email., the reminders are currently useless for us as the synergist invoice can't be attached to it.

Many government offices are now unable to accept/click invoice links for digital security reasons. This means they can not view invoices which are sent with reminders.
Please add the option to include the original pdf invoice and attachments with reminder emails!

While not a native solution inside of Xero, you could use a Xero add-on like Paidnice, which can handle sending reminders and can include more options like including invoice attachments, sending time and other exclusions that you don't get with the default options in Xero.

This should be an option. We have clients that need to have the PDF to make the payment. It should be something that happens by default.

A link is pointless to an enterprise AP team. I recently received an email complaining about this from my customer. We had sent them the actual PDF but this should be a simple change. Add the actual PDF rather than a link.

I agree. We deal with a lot of ASX100 companies and they increasingly have automatic readers, whereby the original invoice and attachments need to be merged into a single pdf.
This is a must have function as our clients increasingly transition to invoice auto-reader / Artificial Intelligence era.

You guys have to get this done. People just reply and say they need the attachment... The link is not enough.

!!!!! I did not know this and have been using invoice reminders presuming they were attached. Please fix ASAP

We should be able to send our emails from Xero with no links in them. They end up in SPAM, people delete them, ignore them, or call me to ask if it's legit.

We're a financial services business, and I'm no longer sending links that ask you put in your credit card details, or upload your TFN etc.

I agree, having pdfs attached to invoice reminders are necessary. Hopefully xero actions this change. Currently, reminders are pointless and create additional work defeating the point of an auto reminder.

Need to have the invoice PDF included as an attachment, not just a link. Several of our customers use accounting systems that will not read an online link which makes the automated reminder useless.
