I agree with the last comment that this is ridiculous, but would also like to raise this from a data protection point of view.

If a customer uses the 'Contact Merchant' button on an invoice they are unaware that they are sharing their data with an individual's email address and not the business email address.

If a customer chooses to respond to an invoice by using the 'Contact Merchant' button and give their credit card details to pay that invoice in their response, then that information is not protected. As a business, we have to certify each year that our card payment systems are robust, but we cannot guarantee that a customer will not use the contact merchant button to send us payment information, even if we ask them not to.

We should, at the very least, be able to switch this function off.

Xero, you need to get a grip on this one and not say this is something you are not looking at at the moment.

You are breaching the data protection act by not allowing a business to chose where it's information is being shared.

It is utterly ridiculous that a member of staff who is quoting but does not deal with accounts gets the notification that the quote has been accepted. This may work for some business but not all. It does not work for ours and Xero wiping saying "too bad so sad" when this is a privacy issue along with a logistical issue.

Quote Acceptance/Decline/Contact Merchant Buttons on quotes - select Reply To email.

Please please please let us choose the "reply to" email address in settings for when a customer presses "Accept, Deline or Contact Merchant" button on emailed quotes!

At the moment the reply goes to the staff members personal log in email which is super inappropriate and means the company misses these emails, especially if that staff member has left the company or the bookkeeper etc finalises the quote. The staff should never receive those emails in their personal email unless we select it in the settings. Give us the option to select a specific reply email!!

A basic reply to email setting is super simple to implement. You already have this email option for invoices in settings. Do it for Quotes too please!

I don't even understand how this is not a default function, and something to be brought into line with invoices and statements.

I can't understand how Xero can not see the importance of this. It is a breach of privacy, it sends confidential business information to employees no longer in the business, it places reliance on individuals rather than on company processes. This is far too much of a serious situation for xero to say "not something we currently have direct plans for changing". This is an essential business function that is failing.

So i have an employee, that used to log into Xero via the email she registered with (her personal email address) and she has send out thousands of quotes while working for our company and now she has left the company..

How am i supposed to know when my customers that have had their quotes sent to them on this Xero platform, want to go ahead with their quotes???

In the Clients mind, they have given us the go ahead with the quote..
In reality they have emailed an ex employee of our company..

in Xero's developers eyes this is the best practice??

It is disappointing Xero isn't amending this urgently!

Due to privacy and confidentiality, I do not wish for my personal information to be sent to clients.

Appalling from xero allowing this to happen and for responses to be lost.

It's frustrating that this isn't a standard practice and isn’t even being considered.
Why would important work-related emails be sent to individual login addresses instead of a centralized organisational address? It makes no sense and is actively disrupting our operations.

This tells me Xero is not interrsted in small businesses. Unless you're a large business with internal admin dedicated to quotes only and have internal bookkeepers... dont use Xero. And anyone working for more than one business with their own personal email address login for all businesses they assist-good luck! You'll get a bunch of emails sent to your personal email that aren't for you. This goes for the 'send me a copy' checkbox in invoices too. Highly inefficient.

Wow! What a response "XERO". How is this not part of your plans to "change the behaviour of" ?

By not doing this restricts your client base to small teams or one person businesses. Your target market is being restricted heavily but not even considering this.

Then for the clients you have onboard already, the service delivery and keeping clients happy approach is not being considered? Feedback is important used to be a thing especially when there was so much support for it. Pretty disappointing response i must say.

For a request like this, i can assure you we wouldnt be recommending Xero to anyone as i dont think you understand the importance of this to your clients you have onboard already.

Looks like i have no choice but to trial a system that allows for the quoting to be done and go to another team member within the business, and if that works good i may look at the accounting side.

The email setup with Xero is honestly pretty ****... process-wise, it doesn't work unless you're a one-man show. Everything has a different generic email address if your company has departments. And you never want things to go back to the user email because that isn't a generic one for the department.

This is absolutely crucial. So many people are given casual access to support businesses but they don't need to be advised if the quote is accepted, the business needs to know. It is a surprise that Xero would think that this function is suitable, especially to service anyone with more than one person in an accounts team. By having this as going to personal emails, it makes clients look incompetent when we ask their customers to use this automated system, but the system doesn't tell the company that they're getting the business, they tell the remote data entry person that logs on once a week to do quotes. Very clunky for a software package that is claiming to make business easy.

There needs to be an option for multiple people in an organisation to receive both replies and acceptances to quotes. This should be a top priority. Endless issues have come up because I was the only one able to get replies to quotes, and I do not work full time. Please fix this issue ASAP!

The 'To email address' shows as your own when sending a quote

Would be beneficial to have the clients email address shown so that you can reply to a client from the quote email.

This would save me sooooo much additional work. Along with the other 95% of users that have been asking for this change for over TWO YEARS... XERO PLEASE FIX NOW!!!!
