I support this request. Being able to present multiple sections with their own subtotals within a single quote would improve clarity for clients and reduce the need to send multiple separate quotes.
While waiting for native multi-section support, we have developed a Xero add-on that assists with more flexible quote structuring and multi-currency handling. If anyone would like to explore this during our beta phase or provide input, feel free to reach out or visit multicurv.com.

I came here to ask for exactly this. the ability to send a quote, say for a couple of different models of widget and have them either select one of those for approval or perhaps the ability to decline specific rows but still accept the overall quote.

Perfect for when you want to give the customer options knowing that they will only choose one.

an addendum to this is to allow the customer to change quantities; I might send a quote for 1x widget but they decide they want 2 of them. There would need to be some kind of controls around this in cases where pricing is linked to a minimum order qty.

Ability to have sub category line items so can for instance quote for a kitchen and it does a subtotal for that then quote a bathroom and it has a seperate sub total incl or excl GST then a final full total

I have a driving school and provide services to government and local agencies to help with job skills. Sometimes they would like to purchase multiple lessons and I have two different lesson lengths to provide. The ability to add Option A and Option B on a single quote would save time and the possibility of a quote getting lost in the abundance of emails they receive daily.

I am a small timber flooring business, we supply, install and finish timber & cork flooring.
I currently produce three quotes for most floor sanding clients, as we have three different coating systems.
It would be great to be able to template a standard floor sanding and finishing quotation with the first line item being the sanding component, the second being the selected coating system, and the third being any additional products or services.
Then separate line items that have a description and cost for the other two coating variations/options.
To make this even better, the template could be loaded with up to six PDFS that can accompany a quote so that no one forgets to attach them.
Then to top it all off have the Anylitics Plus metrics tied to quotes, accepted, declined, purchase orders and invoices.
While I'm here, the ability to do a bulk % increase to all inventory and services at once would be great.

I am a small plumbing business and I used to insert subtotals on quotes when using a different accounting software system. This made it easier for me to quote and to invoice for different stages of a job. Does Xero have a solution for this?

We are a drafting and engineering business and may quote a drafting component and a engineering component. Two line quotes would be very valuable

Agree with this and additionally we need the ability for clients to accept PARTS of a quote and not all of it - so accept or decline line by line. Or even better would be accept / decline / to be agreed a later date. As we have clients who know they definitely want X and they might want Y and when the see the quote they decide X for now and we might do Y later on in a few months - see how X goes.

We need to provide options to our clients so they can decide based on their budget. Some parts of the projects are fixed (travel costs, PM, administration) but some parts the client can choose how much work they want us to do and if they want to go for the cheap option or the more expensive. It would be great to have in the same quote the possibility to have "sub-total" rather than prepare different quotes.

I am requesting the implementation of a feature that allows quoting two separate amounts on a single quote, where the sections on the invoice where one amount is labelled as non-recurring and the other as monthly-recurring, as well as adding the term of the monthly recurring? This would provide clarity to the customer regarding both the upfront costs and the recurring monthly charges for the chosen service or hardware. The invoice when finalised will then be separated in two with two invoice numbers - one for the non-recurring and one for the monthly recurring, the month recurring will then be a repeating invoice automatically.
I tried to make an example on paint to try and explain my point better

We have to do annual quotes for the service provided.

So we do 1 day quote and then multiply that 1 day quote with the total days of service provided. If there can be a option of have a total of 1 day price and then a separate section underneath to show the total of certain no. of days, that would be great.

We are a painting and gib stopping company. It would be good to be able to create one quote for a new build that has a section for gib stopping services and separate section for painting services rather than have to do multiple quotes for the one job.

Our quotes to our main client involves submitting 3 different costs from our suppliers for the same or very similar services. These costs might have different delivery times or slightly different specifications. Then client then selects one of the costs and instructs.

Is there a way of setting up the quote template to give 'options' rather than a list of items, so the options don't add up to the total quote value ? Only one of the options would be instructed

We don't want each cost within a quote as showing as a separate quote item as this will show each quote as approx. x 3 the potential job value.

The client doesn't want 3 separate quotes as they like being able to compare the quotes on a single document.

Could you design a solution for this ?
