Inventory UK - Upcoming DRS (Deposit Return Scheme)
UK - Upcoming DRS (Deposit Return Scheme)
Is there an update being worked on for the DRS that comes in from Oct 27?
There will be a 20p per can/bottle added to each item sold B2B, so ranging from £1.20 to £4.80 per case that needs to be itemised separately on the invoice and isn't subject to VAT.
An option within Products & Services so the relevant amount can be added in each individual product would be ideal so case rates can be added.
Thanks for sharing your idea about accounting for Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) deposits alongside tracked inventory. We'll open your idea to votes and comments so we can get a gauge of community interest and hear how others would use this. ✨
In the meantime, you can use a separate untracked item for the DRS deposit and add it as its own line to the relevant invoices and bills. Because the deposit is entered as an untracked item, it won't affect the quantity or value of your tracked inventory. We will monitor this and any updates will be posted here.

It will be far too time consuming and not a practical solution to add a line after each product showing the relevant DRS amount.
Some of our invoices have upwards of 100 unique product lines, which will all have a different DRS charge added depending on pack size.
It is also not realistic to manually count up how many cases are packed in x6, x12, x24 etc and add DRS lines at the bottom of the invoice.
This up coming change will affect the whole supply chain from manufacturer down to retailer and end user.
