e-Invoicing is not (yet) available for South Africa.
Could you please make this available in South Africa?

Invoicing | Add Payment - Align bank account order across UI
When using the "Add Payment" button on an Invoice, I am regularly confused because the Banks are not in the same sort order I've assigned on the Dashboard / Bank Accounts Page.
This sort order is already applied to the "New Spend Money" page. So really it would be ideal if it matched platform-wide
This is complicated for me since Stripe requires a new account for each platform.
Hopefully the attached screenshot makes the request / issue clearer.
2 votesHi Sandy thanks for raising this with us. This is a great idea , to unify the account order across the platform. We'll move this idea so it gains more support from the community. In the meantime please feel free to share this with your peers who might also benefit from this change. We will monitor this space for more traction.

Invoices - Ability to select Paid date for invoice with 100% discount
When an invoice is fully settled by a 100% application of a credit, discount, or retainer, Xero should automatically populate the 'Paid Date' with the date the credit/discount was applied.
3 votesThanks for your feedback and sharing here, Thamara.
It sounds like you're applying the 100% discount directly within the invoice. If the paid date differs from the invoice date you could apply a credit note which will record the paid date as the date issued in the credit note.

Invoicing - Ability to download a paid VAT invoice as unpaid and noted as a copy
Customers often ask for a copy of an older invoice that's been paid. When either resending or downloading it, Xero creates a new PDF that shows the invoice as paid with a 0.00 balance.
I should be able to send an exact copy of the original that clearly states it is a copy. In fact, HMRC states that a request for another copy of a VAT invoice SHOULD be as per the original and state that it's a duplicate.
4 votesHi Marianne, ✨
Thanks for sharing this idea and your feedback about HMRC requirements for VAT invoice copies is valuable. We've reviewed your idea and are moving it to Gaining support. This means the community team have reviewed the idea and it's now open for community support through votes and comments. We encourage others who would find this useful to add their votes and share how this would help their business. Keep an eye on this thread for any updates as the idea gains traction.

Invoices - Warning for unapplied customer credit when batch approving invoices
Xero does not alert you if a customer has a credit that could be applied during batch approval of invoices.
We batch approve and batch email all our invoices; it it is frustrating that we are sending out invoices without credits being applied.
Surely this would be easy to implement?

Invoices - Prevent sales invoice lines being posted to Overhead or Direct Costs nominal account codes
A number of users mistakenly post lines on their sales invoices to expense nominal codes, for example when recharging their mileage to a customer they credit this to Motor Vehicle Expenses instead of using their correct Sales account code.
Most other accounts/bookkeeping packages prevent this by default by only allowing sales invoices to be posted to sales nominal codes. Xero however allows sales to go to virtually any nominal account of the user's choosing, leading to this error cropping up quite often.
Could we have a way to restrict sales invoices only being posted to sales nominal account codes?
8 votesHi Nick, thanks for sharing your idea on preventing sales invoice lines from being posted to Overhead or Direct Cost codes. We're grateful for your engagement and for letting us know the changes that matter to you.
We've reviewed your suggestion, and it's now ready to gain support from other community members.

Sales - Search for Invoice by Description
This is NOT a duplicate of https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/44961124-global-search-search-items-by-description.
I am suggesting that within the Invoicing section of Xero, where a Search can be initiated, a checkbox is required that will "Include Description" - allowing customers to search for an invoice by the contents of the description field.
I understand the performance impact on the overall system of putting this feature in the "Global Search" box, hence my suggestion to make it an "Optional" search via checkbox.
Because the invoice reference field was reduced to 255 characters (https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/49018595-new-invoicing-remove-255-character-limit-for-ref), this would be the only way to be able to find…
29 votesHi team, we appreciate this idea is gathering interest and we're continuing to keep a close watch on the support this receives.
While we don't have immediate plans for enabling an option to search by description directly from the Sales search, we'd like to highlight another option that you may find handy - You can use JAX to query and return results about your invoices.
See the example provided in my screenshot 😊

Sales Overview- allow sorting (draft) invoices by 2 fields
Currently I can sort my draft invoices by "To" which seems to then default to "Number" as a second level. I have multiple invoices for the one client each month and it would be great if I could sort by "Ref" then sort by "To" and the "Ref" would remain the second level field, instead of "Number."

The best way to work around this at the moment is to search the contact name on the search field in Draft invoices and then use the sort filter for the references.

Invoice - Preview attachments from send window
When emailing invoices with attachments, it would be helpful if we could view attachments, just as a double check.
At the email stage, we can preview the email and invoice prior to sending, but not the attachment.4 votesThanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you.

Exclude Auto Save from History and Notes
Exclude new auto save updates from History and Notes. It made sense to save these when it was manual but now it just clutters the history so badly with every auto save creating a new entry.
13 votesThanks for sharing your feedback with us. Though not a direct solution of what’s being asked here we wanted to share that our product team has been focused on autosave improvements to help reduce lag, and help your invoices load and save faster.
As we continue to develop invoicing in Xero, our team will keep considering how autosave events are displayed in your invoice history. We'll share any future updates on reducing these events or providing more control over what you see, here. Thanks

Repeating Customer Prepayments
The ability to set up a repeating customer prepayment. We have customers who pay on account every month. We then create an invoice at the end of a billing period (Quarterly, annually etc) and then use their prepayments against the invoice. It would be useful to automate the prepayment creation so that we can reconcile the payment made by the customer to their prepayment. Creating the multiple prepayment forms every single month for all of our clients is tedious.
4 votesHi Reuben, thanks for the detail in your idea here - It sounds like you're currently manually creating the prepayment in Xero and then manually reconciling this once it's received in your bank account?
Though not a repeat prepayment feature like you're asking however you could create the transaction right when you're reconciling - From the Create option in the Reconcile screen click Add details which will open the modal. Here you can click the drop down on the Received as and change this from Direct Payment to Prepayment.
Totally get this doesn't automate the creation of the transaction completely, however could help save a few steps each month. LMK if this helps 🙂

Xero Accounting App - Change colour of invoice sent banner
When using the mobile app, currently once an invoice has been completed and emailed, it says "unpaid invoice" in a blue banner at the top. It is sometimes difficult to notice the little popup which says "invoice sent" at the bottom, and this could lead to the invoice being sent again.
Changing the color of the banner at the top (i.e. to green) would be a nice visual indicator the email has already been sent.
3 votesHi Brandi, thanks for sharing this idea. We can see how a color-coded banner could make it easier to manage on the mobile app. We have moved this idea to Gaining Support, which means the Xero community can now vote and comment to show their interest. If this is something your peers would like to see as well, we'd love for you to share this with them and welcome others to join the conversation and add their support. Invoicing - Show attachment option at the top of the page
The button to view attachments was at the top of the page in classic invoicing but is at the bottom in new invoicing. Our sales transactions are imported from our point of sales software via API. Every sales invoice has an attachment and we now have to pointlessly scroll down to the bottom of every invoice before we can view the underlying report. Please put the attachment button back in an accessible place!
24 votesThanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback and explain how this change affects your day-to-day workflow 💙
We understand that having the attachment option at the bottom of the page can create extra scrolling and slow things down, especially when you're working through a high volume of invoices and need to quickly check supporting documents.
We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and better understand the impact for customers using new invoicing. Please keep the votes and comments coming — examples of how this affects your workflow are really helpful for our team.

Invoice Template - Setting for Decimal format
Invoices Australia
An update in the last few months bought inconsistency into the invoicing format in terms of the decimal points on the unit pricing. It would be good to be able to define this - to two, three, four decimal points so that there is consistency on the invoices rather than some units at two and some at four decimal points.17 votesWe're grateful for your engagement and letting us know the changes that matter to you.

Purchase orders - Online view with option to convert to Quote
Purchase Orders - ability for the suppliers that you send the Purchase Order, to view the document online and have the option to import the Purchase Order to Quotes and Sales Invoices.
The Purchase order area of Xero feels a bit underdeveloped at the moment. However, one strong step would be to allow Purchase orders sent by Company A from their Xero account to be transferred to Company B's Xero Sales area at the click of a button (giving an option of Quote or direct to sales invoice).
This is already set up on the Sale side, where Company A…
7 votesHi there, we appreciate your suggestion. It's a thoughtful idea that touches on a key part of the procurement process. We understand that the current method of emailing PDFs and relying on suppliers to recreate the information on their side requires some manual work.
An online view of purchase orders, along with the ability for suppliers to convert those into a quote or invoice in Xero, would help make this a much smoother experience for everyone involved.
At the moment in Xero, purchase orders can be converted into bills, which you can then send to suppliers, and quotes can be converted into invoices to be sent to customers. However, there isn’t a way for suppliers to view a purchase order online and import it into their organisation as a Quote.
This idea is currently in the Gaining Support phase, so we’re keeping a close eye on feedback and interest from…
