  1. We are a subscription based business, so it would be great to be able to bulk update repeating invoice amounts. Either by selecting all the ones we'd like to change or by pushing through new inventory/product/service price changes. At the moment we have to change every single repeating invoice and this takes hours and hours!

    Thanks for the feedback and great to hear the use you find in repeat templates in Xero. 

    While there's no way to bulk update templates atm, you may find updating your templates through export & import of invoices more helps quicken things up?

    You could export invoices that have been generated from your template to CSV, update the amounts in the exported file, and then re-import

    This will create 'Draft' invoices in your Xero org from which you can create a Repeat template and then delete the draft. 🙂

  2. When importing bulk invoices, have the ability to upload discounts as a dollar amount and not as a %.

  3. OLD vs NEW XERO INVOICING

    Customer Name search - this is when adding customer name on customer/contact field when creating a new invoice

    In the old version, the dropdown displays the full hospital name along with the contact email address. However, the new version only shows a truncated name (around 26-30 characters) without the email address. It would be better to retain the old version feature for this especially when there are multiple contacts but different departments, as it was easier to find out whether correct department was chosen and not to make additional right click just to be sure…

    HI team, appreciate not directly within the Customer statement at present and being open we don't have immediate change planned for adding this to the customer statement. However, for the time being you could look to run the Customer Invoice Activity report which has a few more options for the columns and detail shown. 

    Once you've set up as you like you could save as Custom to make this readily available in your org and export to share externally with a customer/client. 

  5. It would be great if in Xero Blue you could see from the contact profile that they have a credit instead of money owed $0.00.

    It would also be helpful if when creating and invoice or before sending the invoice if a pop up appeared advising the client has credit and asking if you would like to use it.

    Also having the ability to transfer credit between groups/entities would be helpful. At the moment if someone has a credit note against one entity we need to reverse the credit note and reprocess it under the entity you want to credit.

    Thanks for your feedback here. Currently when you create a credit note/overpayment the balance is reflected in the contacts record. This shows as a negative value in the list of the customer's invoices.

    With new invoicing, if you create an invoice for a contact that has outstanding credit, you'll be asked if you'd like to allocate this credit once the invoice has been approved. You'll also see the available credit and option to apply each time you view an approved invoice. 

    While it's not possible to allocate credit from one contact to another you could edit an existing credit note to change the contact without having to recreate it from scratch. 

  6. Instead of the currently available [Week] option in the repeating invoice reference field, which only shows the week number of the year, for example '34', instead allow the option for custom text that includes the date. For example to enable the customer to understand that the invoice being sent is for work that was undertaken during week ending 18/08/2024, which you want to display as WE20240818, you could allow something like this in the reference field: 'WE[yyyymmdd]'. This mitigates the issue of customers having to work out the date that e.g. week '34' applies to when reconciling invoices in Xero…

  7. At present when you create an invoice and then use the triple dot menu and "get Link" option you are presented with a overlay which gives you the Invoice link that you can give to the customer. But this link includes an extra querystring parameter utm_source - I want a setting that stops this being added to any links.

    The links currently look like this:
    https://in.xero.com/XXXXXXXXXX?utm_source=newInvoicingGetLinkButton

    And I want them to look like this:
    https://in.xero.com/XXXXXXXXXX

    They are long and ugly looking with the UTM parameter and current I have to remove this manually from every link. I also think adding…

    Thanks for your response, Elsa. If the user has access to the organisation you could share the browser URL of the invoice or bill you're on. This contains a transactions ID. The user would need to be logged into Xero and then when they go to that link it'd open that invoice.

    I guess the second part of your idea here when you mention the hyperlink - Is there somewhere specific or a method you're using that you'd want to share the link?

  9. There doesn't seem to be an option to delete the due date on sales invoices, my client doesn't want this to show on their sales invoices so it would be really useful if this could just be excluded

  10. Allow charities to add an option for customers to make a voluntary donation when paying their invoice.

    When making a payment through the pay now link, they would be able to add an additional amount as a donation, if they choose to.

  11. Thank you for the 'Today - tomorrow' options in date selections but we would really benefit, and use regularly, a 'Yesterday' option given we often Invoice customers 'after' they have collected goods etc.

  12. I run a braille transcription business and must submit braille files along with invoice. I would like to send all from once source, Xero, rather than in a separate email. Attach .cdr (CorelDraw) and .B2K (Braille2000) files (other file types, too).

  13. The new feature sets the discount column to numeric value by standard. My business uses % and it's incredibly tedious having to type % each time. We can do 10-20 quotes a day with an average of 30 products per quote. So a feature that would allow us to click a button to default to percentage, so when you type a number the % appears (like in old Xero).

    Hi everyone, we appreciate the interest his idea has received. Introducing the ability to add a discount amount was highly requested by our community. We recognise for customers that discount by % this means you'll need to enter a % symbol where y ou wouldn't have done so before.

    With quite a few items drawing our teams attention at present we want to be upfront that developing a default option for discounts isn't in the pipeline atm. This is something we'll keep reviewing and consider as a future improvement in this space. If there is any change or progress around this I'll let you know on the idea, here.

  14. There should be a generate receipt option without having to create invoice first. This receipt should continue running numbers as invoiced.

  15. It would be incredibly helpful to be able to update multiple notes at once. For example, if I have a list of 300 invoices and a statement has been sent, I want to see that note on each invoice, so that anyone going into that account can see the last action. So for example, I want to add the note 'Statement sent today requesting payment by 19th April' to all 300 invoices, but I want to be able to select them all and add that note once, not 300 separate times.

  17. When the invoice has been approved and need to be emailed, the side by side view is great but I would like to see the invoice amount ex VAT, not the total of the invoice and it would be good to see all the body of the invoice as well, not just saying there are more items, you cant even click on it to see

  18. It would be nice to have an option in the invoices settings to have approved invoices automatically marked as sent.
    This would be mainly for users that send their invoices with another program, so the invoices they enter in Xero are always sent.

  20. Repeating Invoices - ability to copy existing repeating invoice.

    Reasons:
    - Temporary Discount rewards (Scenario 1 below)
    - Previously agreed future price changes
    - Similar fee package for another client on a recurring basis

    Scenario 1
    - Client signs an ongoing recurring contract Monthly Fee = $1,000 (for illustration purposes):
    - Client sends us a referral, so we discount their fee 10% for the next 4 months (update current recurring amount to $900)
